The lines out the door tell you what you need to know about this place.

The bagels are huge, have the perfect amount of chewiness and softness and they have a huge selection of bagels and spreads.  Unfortunately the place is SO popular on a weekend morning that I have to be particularly in the mood to brave the line which can be 20 minutes +.  We've taken to going in the evening and getting bagels for the next day.  Not quite as good but they still keep well.

The freshly squeezed orange juice is a nice treat though like everywhere else it's never cheap.  I like to indulge every once in a while.

I really like this place. My husband and I stop by Bagel & Coffee Company on Friday mornings before work or on Saturday mornings.

I am a vegetarian so I get their vegetable pesto panini or their plain bagel with tofu spinach spread. Delicious! Their iced coffees are not great.

My husband loves their whole wheat pancakes.

I am planning on coming to this place for as long as I live in Astoria :)

What's round, soft, warm in the inside, and has a sliver as a hole in the middle? A BAGEL! Man. I'm from California, and sure, we have Noah's Bagels with flavor cream cheeses, but this place separates itself among its' competition. On a Saturday morning, the line is long, but there are tons of workers to get the line moving. They have so many different flavor cream cheeses, and usually a 'flavor of the week.' Alot of people also seem to order their breakfast plates and sandwiches. Even the wraps on display look delicious. Since I want an authentic NY bagel, I opt for a bagel.

The bagels are HUGE. The first time I got the 'Everything bagel with' Jalapeno Asiago spread, which was delicious. Not too cheesy, not too spicy, but just the right amount of kick. (btw, you can even sample the spreads) But, I did think the everything bagel was too salty combined with the spread. The second time I went, I got a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. It looked as if it was just cheese with real strawberries, so I didn't think the cheese would have any flavor. But I was wrong, the cheese has a nice hint of strawberry flavor. My girlfriend got the cinnamon raisin bagel with cinnamon walnut spread, and that was also tasty as well.

Big bagels, generous amount of spread, fresh squeeze orange juice, coffee, frappes, and more. This place does bagels RIGHT.

Great bagel spot. The place is spacious with plenty of seating and I think free WiFi, too.

Their bagels are deliriously chewy and soft in a lovely way. Their everything bagel was a little too salty for my liking but I ate it anyways. They have a good array of cream cheeses but I like to go classic and stick with a plain one!

Their iced mochas are surprisingly really good. The guy took his time making it for me and it turned out great!

    Friendly and fast service.

If you need a bite before or after hopping on the N/Q at the 30th Ave station, head here!

Ahhh - Bagels! One of the reasons that I am thrilled to be back in the NYC area.  No one does bagels like New York (it really is all about the water) and at the top of my list of best bagels is Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company.

The bagels are huge which is a bit of an issue for my diet but they also have mini options in multiple flavors and they are all oh so tasty! There is a large selection of accompanying cream cheese and tofu spreads as well as low fat options for those that tend to order diet coke with their whoppers. There is a full menu and a kitchen in the back that pumps out tasty hale and hearty soups, salads, sandwiches, eggs, etc...  I always order bagels separate from the cream cheese and make my own at home.  Most recently I tried their fig cream cheese which was deliciously sweet.  I had it on a plain bagel but it would have been great on my favorite pumpernickel as well.  They are so fresh they are often still warm.

The line on any given morning is long to longer but it moves quickly and you are in and out in a jiffy.  The Team that works there has a great chemistry.  They work seamlessly together to match happy customers with their orders.  You place an order at the far back of the store and then when you get to the register the cashier just knows which one is yours. There is a small seating area in the front for those that cannot wait to bite in to their order immediately.

My one issue is that I wish I lived closer or that I could easily park near this location.  I tend to go on Sundays when parking is simpler.  I still give it five stars because I don't consider parking to be a requirement for an urban eatery.

This is my favorite bagel place in Astoria. They have lots of bagels to choose from and lots of different cream cheeses to try. There's also plenty of seating, so it's a great place to have breakfast on the weekend with a good book. My favorite thing to get it the Whole Wheat Everything bagel with egg and cheese with a iced coffee.

And the staff is so friendly here! Always service with a smile.

Best bagels in Astoria, hands down. Friendly staff, fresh bagels, excellent selection of cream cheese, and high quality lox=I make the 8 block trek here on my hungover Sundays quite frequently!

They do offer delivery (you have to actually call the store, they're not on Seamless) but it's been slow the few times I've done it, and there's a minimum of $10 (which is totally reasonable, but sometimes you just want a bagel with schmear and don't wanna splurge on the nova sammy).

They have "mini" and regular bagels. Mini bagels here=regular size bagels anywhere else. I forget sometimes and order just a regular bagel and it's HUGE! They have almost all of their flavors in mini and regular size, including whole wheat...score.

They're super nice about offering samples of cream cheeses, and the selection is endless. On Valentine's Day they even had red velvet cream cheese, which tasted like a cupcake. The flavors-of-the-day are usually super sweet for my liking (recently saw Butterscotch offered), but the samples are nice to whet your appetite for what's to come.

I usually end up with a whole wheat mini + low fat veggie cream cheese + nova (I am soooo picky about my nova, and I really think they must have Acme as their provider because it's just as good as Russ & Daughters' stuff-not their fancy stuff, but their normal quality stuff), and sometimes I'll throw a tomato or onion slice on there if I'm feeling healthy! It ends up being around $9, which I think is totally reasonable given the quality of the lox and the fact that I'm so full for hours after eating it.

I've never tried their salads or sandwiches, but I did once have a breakfast sandwich with eggs that was good. I also tried a side of their bacon and it was deliciously salty and perfectly crispy! Their iced coffee is good too...and make sure you don't miss their FLAVORED iced coffee (Hazelnut) that's right beside the regular flavor-I almost always forget and lament my decision moments later. The iced tea isn't so good, but the iced coffee is tasty enough to make up for that.

The guy who runs the place (I think?) is super nice and always very accommodating, and the other staff here are nice too. Be prepared to face a long line when you come in on a weekend, but don't worry, it moves quickly! The seating here is pretty ample, and people are always on their laptops, so it seems like it would be a good place to get some work done on a weekday (weekend crowds would deter me from this).

Overall...best bagel place in the area, worth the extra few block trek from any of the several other 30th ave bagel shops.

The most amazing bagels in Astoria, and maybe NYC. My go-to is a whole wheat everything, toasted with eggs, sausage, and american cheese. The bagels are huge and the sandwich is extremely filling. The mini bagels are your standard, store-bought bagel size and just as delicious. There are tons of cream cheese options, both tofu and regular, with a rotating cream cheese of the week which is usually the most delicious option.

It's kind of a toss up whether the bagels will be hot or not, unless you go when they first open. Pro-tip: Ask for your bagel toasted whole, and cut after. It replicates the awesomeness of a freshly made bagel by keeping the inside soft and warm with a crunchy, crispy outer crust. Also, for super fresh bagels, you can order delivery, and ask for them to deliver when the next batch of bagels is fresh out of the oven.

As some others have mentioned, the service can be kind of iffy and condescending, however most of the guys there are super friendly and extremely helpful. Definitely a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

I love these bagels, but sometimes I have a mild freak out when trying to choose a cream cheese. Look, maybe I'd like a plain bagel with sweet strawberry cream cheese, but I don't get it. I get an everything bagel with olive cream cheese...like a man. Then I have my wife order the former so I can eat it in the car. It's really rather irrelevant when I ordered an iced green tea with Splenda- which you should never do. While the bagels are delicious, this particular drink tasted the way I imagine cold urine would. So man up...and stick with the iced coffee instead. I love you Brooklyn Bagel. Except, as indicated, for your atrocious iced green tea. That debacle cost you a star. But who could stay mad at you?

    .
This is just one of a dozen bagel shops in this area,
It doesnt stand out except for one wise-ass clerk behind the counter.

I asked for a small sample of Whitefish salad and he was actually angry at my request.
When I received it, the taste was of mayonaise, not whitefish.

Since Astoria has an epidemic of average to below average restaurants imo,
I take the time now, to get decent food from Manhattan.

*Since Im not 'drunk' or 'recovering from being drunk the night before'
as so many posters on Yelp insist on adding,,,perhaps my palate is more demanding.

Regardless, I wont be visiting BB&C again.

If a year ago you had suggest I stand in a line for over 30 minutes to get an overpriced bagel with an obscene amount of cream cheese on it, I would have given you a death stare. But then I tried Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company.

Every time I go into this place I almost walk out (there's pretty much always a line), but then I just have to take a deep breath and remember the delectable treat that awaits me. These bagels never disappoint. No matter what the bagel or cream cheese flavor is, it will be just want you wanted. I cannot attest to the quality of their coffee or other breakfast foods. All I know is that if someone asks me where to get a bagel in Astoria, I'm pointing them to this place.

This is worthy of calling management. As a regular Brooklyn Bagel patron, I enjoy the food and today I planned on ordering my usual...mini whole wheat bagels (and I did). However, the counter person specifically the guy (who I believe is Latino) with a thick mustache who treats staff poorly when they mess up orders decided to be a jerk to me.  I ordered my usual...I seriously haven't diverted from my usual order since at least 2010.  Instead, of waiting to be served my bagels I watched the counter person cut a regular sized whole wheat bagel. Now, to err is human but to be a jerk is just a poor business practice. When I told the counter person that I wanted a mini bagel he aptly ROLLED his eyes at me. At that time, I said LOUDLY, I see that I ruined your day so I no longer want my order and I left. On another occasion, the same counter person proceeded to be a jerk to another counter person who had super messed up my order  - we are talking that he gave me a regular sized bagel, toasted it and gave me cinnamon raisin cream cheese...when I noticed the triple errors...I told the counter person with the thick mustache and he proceeded to be a jerk in front of other patrons to the guy that made the original error (who was new by the way). Net, net...I will no longer buy from this shop on 30th avenue. My recommendation is that the crew is retaught proper customer service skills and that the counter person with the thick mustache is given a final warning immediately (I'm nice, others would have suggested that he be fired). P.S. As a real local who was born and raised in Astoria, it's sad to see when expansion efforts of an original Astoria shop falls short in terms of solid hiring practices.  You have a real gem of customer service in your other locations but this one is missing what a loyal customer deserves and that's respect.

Wife just got back with some Bagels from Brooklyn Bagel on 30th Ave. Just awesome. Delicious. I had a plain Bagel with veggie cream cheese. Tasty, soft, large. Great all around Bagel. Cream cheese held up to Bagel. Bagel had body if you know what I mean. Wife had pumpernickel Bagel.  She said "it had more body and weight that plain and stood up nicely to her coffee". Nice.

Bagels are one of those foods that people have their favorites and die for. When one finds a good Bagel store you are a loyal fan. I think I found my store. Can't wait to go myself. Better yet send the wife again since it is a few blocks down the street, ha-ha.

Wife said place was packed at 10:30 this morning. I love it. Something good must be happening there. I have read other Yelpers talk about this being a chain. Good job. I love it when things are done right and consistent.

I came here this morning after an intense workout at the gym and even in a snow storm they had customers waiting in line.  A sure sign of a good place, and they didnt disappoint.  I got a mini everything with veggie cream cheese for wifey and a regular everything with low fat scallion for myself.   Both were delicious as always.  And service was fast and friendly.    I usually go to the one on Ditmars, but this is a great substitute.

Bagels are the best I've ever had, hands down.  Variety of cream cheese flavors is insane and they are all delicious!  Overpriced?  YES, but so well worth it!  Money should not be an obstacle to wonderful food!!

My issue with Brooklyn Bagels is the TERRIBLE SERVICE and way that you are spoken to by their employees.  I have been a loyal customer since they opened and CANNOT GET OVER THE CONDESCENDING WAY I AM CONSISTENTLY SPOKEN TO.

For instance, today when I called to get some food delivered, I spoke with a gentleman named Gabriel.  Everything was fine to start - I gave him my address and he repeated it back to me...the only thing is, I have a very tricky intercom, so I quickly explained to him how to work it.  It was obviously waaaaaay too much for him to understand, so he asked if he could have his guy call me and then I could buzz him in.  The problem is that I can't - not because I don't want to, but because I have an intercom that only rings thru to my phone...WELL, that he didn't believe at all!!

Seriously, are you really going to argue with a customer that is trying to give you money and make your delivery guys life easier???  And then he had the nerve to tell me that he had 3 other lines waiting to order and spoke to me like I was some idiot.

I also agree with the guy who asked for a sample of something and was given attitude at the counter - like they are doing you some kind of favor...who wants to pay $10 for a sandwich if you don't know if you'll like it???

Brooklyn Bagels - you have great food....why let your service leave a bad taste in my mouth????

Brooklyn Bagel is a creamy, crunchy delight worth a quick email to your mom about.

The crowds, dense and graphic tee-donning, spread evenly and quickly, like whipped cinnamon raisin walnut cream cheese over a twice toasted multigrain bagel.

The service is as efficient and effective as perfect plain cream cheese on a mini everything bagel, covered evenly in a mix of garlic chips, salt, sesame, and poppy seeds.

The beverage selection is as great as mixed metaphors that run hopelessly away from me.

**Also: big breakfast crowds = the coffee's always fresh!

I like this place a lot! Clean, staffed with friendly, upbeat, joke cracking people who make sure your order is right before taking your money!

I've been here twice in three days. I got an iced coffee which was yummy and had no coffee granules in it (I hate when that happens!) and my friend got a bacon/egg/cheese/avocado on an everything bagel. First of all, allow me to state that I don't even eat tons of bread or eggs anymore, this was one of the best breakfast sandwiches ever.  Fluffy eggs, perfectly cooked piggy, thick slices of ripe avocado... It was so good that when I had a bite I couldn't tell that I had consumed American cheese (bleh!)
Today, I had the smoked salmon sandwich on a salt bagel. DAMN! That was a salty bagel!! Couldn't see the outside of the bagel for all the sea salt. Jalapeno Asiago cream cheese?! It made me wanna slap your mom right in front of your dad! I might start eating bread again just to have something to spread that stuff on!!!

As a European i have to say: bagels are really really good. But the coffee is inacceptable. And you don't even get the option of having it in a regular porcelain cup. Only in paper cups.

That is one of the biggest differences between Europe and the US. It's a little thing but it makes or breaks the experience.

But hey, at least you're getting free WIFI on top of it.

Jalapeno asiago cream cheese, where have you been all my life?

Coming from the West Coast, I'm familiar with the jalapeno and cheddar cheese (and corn) combo. Not to mention asiago bagels are one of my favorites bagels (something not too readily found in NY, which I find odd). The allure of jalapeno and asiago together was absolutely irresistible and I immediately had to have it on my poppy seed bagel.

That little schmear of cream cheese peppered with tiny squares of jalapeno mixed in with asiago transformed my bagel ritual. I can't go back to regular old cream cheese now. Not even with it's flavored with scallions, which was my previous favorite. None can compare to this new jalapeno asiago cream cheese.

The first immediate bite, I thought it had a nice flavor and then a slow wicked burn began crawling up the back of my throat. There. That was it. The peppery smoky flavor of the jalapeno permeated throughout my sinus cavity and I was happy. The savory asiago was a good strong counterpoint to the jalapeno. Next to this, all other types of cream cheese seem so pale and bland.

I like this location on 30th Ave better than the one on Broadway. It's bigger, has more seats, and offers more selections in terms of sandwiches, soups, and salads. Plus, you can even get wifi.

Thank you, Brooklyn Bagel, for your delicious thick chewy bagels. And now thanks to you, I'm ruined. One bite of that jalapeno asiago cream cheese and I'm addicted. I can't go anywhere else now for my bagel fix.

I don't eat bagels often, but when I do it must be an absolutely delicious bagel. If I'm going to eat all those carbs then it better be worth it!

I love sleeping late on the weekends, so I didn't exactly run into a crowd of people when I came here Sunday around 2pm. We were even lucky enough to get a table!

I was so overwhelmed by the amount of food options they had. I thought this was just a breakfast place, but they had: pastries, fresh salad bar, paninis and other hot food items in the window. Not to mention the variety of bagels and spreads.

I had a Plain Bagel with Vegetable Cream Cheese (untoasted). My boyfriend got a Poppy Seed Bagel with Sun Dried Tomato Cream Cheese (toasted). He also pulled a wild card and got the Spinach Pie. They didn't heat it through, so he had to have them heat it longer.

The Spinach Pie was very creamy and melted in your mouth.

As for the bagel. I enjoyed every single bite. I didn't get it toasted so it would be nice and doughy. They do not skimp out on the amount of cream cheese (they better not if they're charging me around $4 for it). You MUST choose a flavor cream cheese! The Sun Dried Tomato Cream Cheese wasn't as good. It was a little overwhelming in taste.

Service wasn't exactly the friendliest,  but they have to deal with a LOT of people every day with very specific orders so I don't blame them.

I love, love, love Brooklyn Bagel.  Enough said.  This was the the first one I'd ever been to.  What I like about the one on Ditmars is that one person serves you and then cashes you out, where as here, you get served and then continue waiting in line to pay.  It seems to be quicker the other way.

Anyway, I come here after long runs...one time I was basically coughing up a lung as I do when I run long distance without water and the woman at the register gave me a large cup of water (when I could have just bought a beverage myself).  She was super sweet.

Can't say anything bad about their bagels.  Too much topping, even when I ask for a little, but better than not enough.  Oh, one downside is that all the BB have stopped toasting their bagels enough.  I'm from MA, I like my bagel toasted so I can see that it's toasted.  It still doesn't take away from the deliciousness, though.

i seriously need someone to explain to me how they can charge 10$ for lox...... it cost 10$ for a package in the supermarket but they can charge you for 0.17 oz, of lox on a bagel w/ plain cream cheese.    5 sandwiches can pay for there entire stash for a week. and i remember when they were not stingy with the lox you would get a full 2 inches of lox, but now its barely that.

other then that, im a fan :) i like the variety of cream cheeses, and you can get regular  egg sandwiches, and the bagels are pretty good and huge (now they make minis, and regulars)

you must bring a friend if your driving there, someone needs to sit in the car and wait and the other must wait in line in the store. its rare to find parking on the weekend, and thats when its the busiest. sunday at noon- the line is out the door.

Mini poppy bagel, toasted with bacon and scallion cream cheese. Mmmm.

My friend took me here on my last day of my trip to NYC, since I confessed to her that I had never participated in the bagel culture of the city. I was not disappointed. I appreciated the heavy application of the cream cheese and the customer service was fast and courteous. Seating is limited, but it worked out for us in the end. My latte was fine, but nothing jaw dropping. Overall, a great breakfast. Cheap, too.

Brooklyn Bagel... the king of all bagel stores. There is some hype about this store, but I know why. As someone said, if there is a line..... the coffee is always fresh! The decaf (never tried regular) is amazing. I love it. No one has even touched this place coffee wish hands down. The bagels are HUGE, more like buy one 1 and share with a friend that big.

If you are giving them a phone order prepared to go on hold for 4-5 minutes before they even get to you, because they are that backed up. Patience always prevails.

Must try..... blows all mom and pop places out of the way. I love Brooklyn!

This is my go-to spot for breakfast.  The bagels are huge, fresh and delicious.  The place is very clean, and has a great menu.

It's a little pricy for breakfast...but I keep going back.

"A" Rating in the window :)  That's what I like to see!

I really enjoy coming to this restaurant .It is a wonderful experience each time I go there. I really adore the bagels etc and love the very efficient and friendly  staff. They always make me smile and laugh. I feel like they are family. I  also can tell by the way that they treat all of the customers that they themselves are also  treated with  kindness and respect  by the store owners and their manager, John Valentin.

Having been a former resident of the wonderful neighborhood of Astoria.  I've always enjoyed Brooklyn Bagel.  Life led me to other places and challenges and now I find myself back in Astoria despite residing in Brooklyn.

How?  Let me tell you about the perks of dating a wonderful person that lives around 30th Avenue in Astoria.  She lives close to this joint.

All I can comment on are the deliciousness of the enormous bagels and the wonderful variety that they come in.  I usually stick with onion, garlic, everything, whole wheat, and whole wheat everything.  When toasted, these transform into crispy on the outside and perfectly soft and doughy on the inside masterpieces.  Place some eggs (or egg whites for you health conscious folks), sausage (or even bacon or turkey bacon) and cheese and you have yourself a meal that will last you until dinner.

Always cooked to order, you can guarantee yourself a nice hot meal.  Pair this with their coffee which happens to be bold and nutty enough in the most perfect sense, and you have a good breakfast.

I've heard good about their large selection and variety of cream cheeses which I cannot enumerate at this point.  They have lots of juices and espresso based drinks.   You can ever order delicious omelets, soups and salads.  What does this place not do?

A definite "go to" place for sausage egg and cheese, and good bagels and lots of other things.

Three stars for such a great variety of cream cheeses, but they're pretty stingy with it. The bagels themselves aren't bad, but I think the ones at BagelBerry down the street are way better (so does my husband; he actually hates Brooklyn Bagel). Overall, I would come here simply to get a speciality cream cheese to go. (the jalepeno asiago is especially yummy). the employees are pretty fast and efficient, but there's always such a huge line, i just don't see going here worth it. (love the fresh squeezed orange juice though)

I had lunch at Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company when it first opened at this location.  I was impressed with the variety of food options.  There were soups, pastries, sandwiches, breakfast items, paninis, create-your-own salads, and of course, bagels.

I loved the 3-lentil chili and the bagel chips that came with it.  So yummy and filling.  I also tried their shrimp salad.  I liked that too.

This ia a great lunch place.  Many options.

Why is your name, "Brooklyn Bagel?" You are in Astoria. Astoria is in Queens, not Brooklyn, silly.

You have colossal, delicious bagels that are oh so cheap. Your cream cheese is tasty. I go to you all the time.

But why oh why are you named, Brooklyn? There aren't even that many hipsters inside.

I spent a good hour or so on my laptop and was quite impressed with not only my coffee, but the free wi-fi and eye candy too. So many good looking girls came through. Plus, they have a great location to people watch or just order a coffee/sandwich/bagel while doing work on a computer or reading the newspaper.

My only complaint was something totally out of this place's hands. Enter one old man. He asks middle aged man who is using two tables to borrow one so he can eat and read the newspaper. Middle aged man says he will be getting his laptop and thus he must have the second table. Old man inquires as to where the said laptop is in which middle aged man replies he will be getting it shortly. Old man tells the middle aged man he will be taking the table once middle aged man departs to get his laptop. Middle aged man gets upset, but the old man inevitably wins. It was fair too, especially considering the huge sandwich ordered by the old man which took up a table by itself. It made me hungry. I should probably order a sandwich to go with my coffee next time. I should also practice my pick up lines too.
