We came in here on a Saturday evening.  Place was lively with a sports bar theme.

We were seated promptly and our waitress took care of us every step of the way and made sure our drinks were refilled as needed.

My brother order the double cheeseburger with bacon, which looked very good and good portion size *see photo*.  I ordered the grilled chicken with avocado and blue cheese as extras *see photo*.  With sides of steak fries and sweet potatoe tots, the entire meal was very, very, delicious with the chicken being cooked through and the burgers prepared medium with the juices still flowing out.  In addition they had this hot and mild bbq sauce name by the famous boxer Evander Holyfield, which I was a bit skeptic at first *see photo* but I should say that it provided an additional layer of tangy flavor to our fries and burgers.

Place was off the hook and definitely will be back.

UPDATE:  There is a hidden item not on their menu.  Just check somewhere in the photos and you'll see it.  Tried it on my second time here.  Basically is one of every topping on their menu.  Really big, really good, definetly recommend to anyone looking for a tasty over the top burger.  In my opinion, it would be better if the burger also came with one of every burger patty (beef, turkey, chicken)*WINK*WINK*WINK.  Anyways, if you do order one, just prepare to spend lots of time in the gym to burn off all the fat lol.

Very good Burger! A lot of beer! Best of both worlds. I wanted to give four and a half stars but you can't do half stars. I would of gave five star but the hangover Burger I got (look at picture) didn't have an over medium egg would of made it more amazing and me and my husband was expecting more of a bar place but we do understand why it isn't, for kids and family. I know we wanna try this place during a UFC fight.

Now about the food. I got the hangover Burger and my husband got a cheeseburger. The hangover Burger was delicious and very big. Fried egg, Bacon, hashbrown Patty and cheese on a burger. Bun was buttered and tosted which made it even more amazing! Fresh meat Patty, buns seem like they got them local (not sure though) soft and fresh.  And the pickles even look homemade (not sure on that either). Just all around delicious! My husband enjoyed his cheeseburger as well. Top your own Burger with your own sauses which is nice as well!

The service was great! On top of our drinks and very friendly! I know we will be back! Very good!

    great new addition to jamul!

the husband and i went last night and had burgers and brews. the burgers are fresh, tasty and crave-worthy, with plenty of fresh toppings and a soft bread and cie bun . shoestring fries were good, as were the tots. beer was cold and crisp.

it was a friday night and was definitely packed, but we managed to score a table on arrival.

awesome family lunch/dinner spot. if you live in the area (or are feeling adventurous and want to make a trip to jamul) give them a try!

First trip to Brody's after hearing about it from several friends.  Absolutly awesome burgers.   The place was crowded at 6pm, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes.  Only suggestion, they need a couple benches outside so people can sit while they wait.  Service was good, we did not feel rushed but did not feel as if the wait staff forgot about us.  We sat right next to a TV and asked if they could put the Manchester United game on and they changed the channel for us.  Thank you.

The food.  All of the burgers were cooked to perfection.  The well done burgers were cook throughout without the outside being burnt.  We were at Slatters 50/50 a couple weeks ago and they burnt the outside of the well done burgers.  These burgers were definitely better than Slatters and better than the last burger I got at Hodads.  The cheeseburger Hawaiian style was awesome!!!  Not just one slice of pineapple but 3 along with cheddar cheese, grilled onions and teriyaki sauce. My wife and daughter got cheeseburgers and loved them.  They have a great bottled and draft beer selection.  My daughter got the shoestring fries and said they were better than In-n-Out.  The spicy onion pedals and sweet potato tots were great.

We will definitely be back often.

Service was bad & food was only OK.

Service- we had a party of 8 and the restaurant was full but there were 2 tables left that could be pushed together to fit us, they just needed to be cleaned. So they said they would clean them & then we could be seated. Well they cleaned them & then never came back and told us we could sit, so we stood around for several minutes not wanting to be pushy but eventually we just went and took the table. Not really a huge deal but..  then I ordered a side salad with my veggie burger & the waitress didn't bring the salad until everyone was halfway done with their meal...? Also we flagged her down to order more beer & she took the order of one person at our table and then walked away.. without asking the rest of us for our orders. Another thing is we had to ask her for condiments a couple times & we never got them till we asked a different waiter.

My veggie burger had a pretty good flavor, but whatever it was made out of could use some work- it was squishy and didn't stay in one piece, I had to keep squishing it together...kinda off putting.

I guess the service issues we had weren't that significant but considering it's not a big restaurant, it shouldn't be hard for the wait staff to maintain their tables! I've worked in a restaurant before & I could have gotten up & done a better job than her. I'll probably go again because I live in Jamul and I want to give them another try.

We saw this place pop up on Yelp and decided to give it a go. It was an enjoyable experience and we're looking forward to returning. Now, to be fair, I'm giving this place 3 stars simply because I have to compare it to some of the 5 star places I haves had the please of dining at.

The Pros: They have a wide selection of beers on tap and in bottles. They are more than happy to let you have a sample from the taps as well! The food menu is lean, simple and everything looks delicious. They also have this sweet and spicy BBQ sauce that is awesome on the burgers and amazing on the sweet potato tots. It's obvious this is a family run business and something very positive for this small community.

The Cons: My wife and I wished the waitress asked how we wanted our burgers cooked. We felt the pattys were a little on the thin side and a little overdone. We both like ours with some pink in the middle, of which there was none. While the staff is very friendly, they may be a little too friendly. We waited numerous times for service and our bill while the staff mingled with guests for extended conversations. The biggest negative we saw was when a woman sat down at the bar with her laptop and started lining up food and beer while conversing with the staff. After a few minutes we realized she must be the owner's wife. I think her presence and activities would have been better suited in a back office rather than taking up a prime seating spot at the bar. People willing to pay we're standing around looking for a pace to sit and she just sat there like the bar stool was her throne.

With a few tweaks, I'm sure this place will be great. We'll give it another try in a few weeks and see if they ironed out the kinks.

WOW! That was a good cheeseburger! Great tasting, fresh toppings & a perfectly cooked patty on a delicious Bread & Cie bun. My wife got what she said is about the best turkey burger she's ever had. Even our daughter's grilled cheese was yummy, on an inverted hamburger bun! And an awesome selection of beers in bottles and on tap.

We came here with our VW Bus club after a cruise through the hills of East County, so we sort of took over the place, but the staff was attentive and quick to take & fill our orders. The owners were super appreciative of our business.

I can tell you this: even though I don't live all that close by, I will make an effort to frequent this establishment. It was that good!

I have been anticipating this place to open, after my sister, who lives in Jamul told me a few weeks ago, that a new burger joint was opening up on the way up to Jamul. Today was their grand opening and to my surprise I was their first official customer. Yippee! Do I get a cookie?

When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the awesome decor and furniture. Who ever put the place together has some real good taste. The place is open, not cram, and  with a nice bar. Regular table are available and so are high bar stools tables. There are flat screen TVs through out the place for your viewing pleasures.

After a brief discussion with the owners, I learned a few important facts. The first one is that they acquire their ground meat (chuck) from a local butcher daily, (Valley Farms Market). The meat is grounded daily from a single source and the patties are made at the restaurant daily. That is a plus in my book! No frozen patties here! Also, personally knowing that Valley Farms carries quality beef from the Midwest is another huge thumbs up. Secondly, I learned that this place is a family owned business. I do not know about you, but I love family owned businesses that put their sweat and love into a business, they truly believe in. I feel that this place has that going on. Finally, who does not like a great burger?

After my conversation, I sat down at a near table and was approached by a lovely young lady, Mandy,  gave me the skinny on their menu. After a few minutes, I decided to order their single cheese burger with cheddar and bacon. I asked for no mayo, but she politely explained to me that all condiments come a la carte, which is nice  because I like to dress up my burger upon arrival. I also ordered the wedge onion pedals, their version of onion rings, and I ordered a diet coke.

The food is prepared right were you can see it. As I sat there reading the "Reader," I started to smell that wonderful burger scent as it hit the griddle. Then I heard the whoosh of the onion petals as they hit the hot oil and my anticipation began to grow.

The burger came served on a moist "Bread Cie"bun nicely piled with tomatoes, lettuce, cheddar, bacon, onions, and pickles. (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) Hey, isn't  that all the food groups? Both the onion petals and burger where served in baskets.

The burger was well cooked and the beef was delicious. One thing I liked about the bread, other then being very good, was that it was not to thick. It allowed me to better enjoy the ingredients of the burger itself.  The burger was top notch. The onion petals where very good as well. In my opinion, they could of used a little salt as they came out of the fryer, but that was not a big deal because putting salt on them was something I could handle. They were very good and I polished off the whole basket. They would go very well with a nice cold beer.

They serve beer and wine only, and they have a very impressive beer menu. I have a feeling during happy hour this place is going to be rocking. At the bar they serve free snack like gold fish cheese-its and mixed pretzels with chex and nuts etc.  Overall, the service was attentive, polite, and enthusiastic. I felt welcomed.

This place is a welcome addition to East County. It is located in a small strip mall behind 7 Eleven. If you are an East County resident, you should check this place out, and if you are not from the area, next time you are driving out this way or want to simply take a nice drive, stop by for lunch or dinner.

Finally! I a really good burger place somewhere in East County! Living in Jamul, we have to drive for forever to eat something good. Now we just have to drive a short distance to enjoy a really great meal! The atmosphere is casual, good for a family dinner or a friends' night out. It is family owned and family run. The owner, Craig (a.k.a. Brody), sat down and chatted with us while my son finished up his really amazing Malt Shake (they use Haggen-Dazs ice cream). The waitress was friendly, good humored and attentive. The meat is ground and delivered fresh each day and the hamburger buns are baked fresh each day. The pricing is moderate, cheeseburger with something extra (avocado, bacon, etc), fries, & a drink for about $13 per person, and worth it! Highly recommend!

Not bad, not great. Service was pretty good but the burgers weren't anything special in my opinion. The reason for 2 stars instead of 3 is it was just too pricey for the quality of food. We went within the first couple of weeks of it opening so they may have tweaked things since then to improve upon the quality of the food, but we won't be back based off that first trip. Not worth it to us to spend the money to hope for something better. My wife and I don't drink but it looked like they had an extremely large selection of beers. If you're going for the food I wouldn't recommend it, if you're going for the beers I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Yum! Great burgers and sides. We ordered the jalapeno and cheddar tater tots to start.  I had the regular cheeseburger, no frills, and my husband had the double cheeseburger with grilled onions. We also ordered the onion petals (like onion rings).  Everything was so fresh- the beef, the bun and the veggies on the top.
The service was very attentive- you could tell this is a family owned business and that they are all working together to make it great. There are large flat screen televisions throughout the restaurant showing various sports and it is a great spot of the whole family.
I really hope this establishment makes it.

Good food, took a while to get to us but they were really busy. I have 2 kids and they had some little games to keep them busy while we waited and Tv's all around us to watch , pretty cool. My kids loved the food which means a lot. Great family place to go and all the people who work there are all so nice.

I had the good fortune to stop in to Brody's during a soft-opening this week and... WOW!  I have to say, it's about time, Jamul!  Everything about this place is awesome.  16 beers on tap and a lot of others available by the bottle... lots of microbrews and hard to find brews, too.  We really enjoyed the burgers (with yummy toasted buns) and the sides that we tried (fries, onion petals and sweet potato tots) were great, too.  The kids are ready to go back for another old fashioned milk-shake and their dad can't wait to enjoy watching games with great food and drinks close to home.  Overall, great food, great atmosphere and happy to have this place close to home.

This is a great place to bring your family for a burger and grab a beer. The beer selection is great and the staff is attentive. The staff always welcomes you when arriving and says thanks when you leave which tells me that they value the customer. The only disappointment was that my burger did not include fries with the meal. If you want fries you would have to pay an additional three dollars which seems kind of steep for me. If they included fries and a better bun with the burger I would definitly give them a 5 star.

Great experience all around the first time we visited Brody's. Our kids, ages 4-7, all proclaimed it to be the best restaurant they've ever been too, mostly thanks to some amazing milkshakes. They loved the grilled cheese on a bun and the fries too though. Hubby had a cheeseburger and steak fries and I had a turkey cheeseburger with sweet tots. The burgers and fries were great. The sweet tots were pretty good, but I think I'd get the fries instead next time. The BBQ sauce is awesome but pretty spicy. They had a very good selection of beer and they'll give you tasters of anything on tap which is helpful in making sure you get exactly what you want. The owner was super friendly and checked in to make sure we were all happy and our waitress, Alex I think, was really attentive and friendly as well. We got there early, around 5 and had no trouble with seating on a Saturday night but when we left at  6 almost all the tables were full so I could see there being a wait if you go between 6 and 7. This is a great  little local burger and beer joint with nice sized tv's all around for watching sports but it doesn't have the noisiness and the 20-something vibe of a sports bar. You can totally enjoy beer and a game there but you can also bring your family and not feel out of place. We will definitely be back. There was not one single thing I can think of that needed improvement.
