Very inexpensive place for lunch.  I've walked buy it for years and never tried it till now.
I ordered the Spicy sushi combo and Gomai and enjoyed it,  everyone in my group enjoyed there meals as well.  The atmosphere wasn't much to speak of but the service was quick, though not the freindliest.

There seems to be a lot of bad reviews but they are always busy at lunch and my experience was good so I'd go back

What the ffffffffffffuck?! So in my last review of this place i mentioned that i had never eaten here in the restaurant before. Well last night I finally did for the first and probably LAST time.

My mom and i came here for a quick dinner and were eating our a-ok meals when one of the servers brought out three HUGE bowls of food and plopped them down on the empty table beside us. We looked curiously over as they weren't anything we could figure out from the menu (we weren't actually sure what exactly they were... Something like looked like bones with stringy meat around them in one dish, a bright yellow soup broth in another and some greens in the last bowl) and they looked big enough for ten people to eat. Turns out it was dinner for the staff, and in groups they hurried over to the table to chow down.

But no, it wasn't just dinner, turns out it was actually a contest amongst the staff of who could gross out my mother and I more. Would it be the man who made INSANELY LOUD, SLOPPY AND WET slurping noises?! (I should note, they actually all slurped, but one amongst them was the king of nasty food noises). Or would it be the other guy who inhaled his food in three seconds? No, actually, in a twist ending, it was tie. A tie of epic proportions between the girl and the guy who who dip the chicken in the broth, put the whole thing in their mouth to knaw the meat off the bone, then spit the bone out. Onto the table. Let me reiterate: they put food in their mouths, chewed it, then spat out the bone ONTO THE TABLE, making a little pile of bone oozing in broth and spit.

After they were declared the victor of the gross out contest, the remaining staff finished their meals and cleared the table... But they didn't wipe it off. So for the rest of our meal my mother and i got to see the saliva/broth puddle slowly trickle its way to edge of the table (apparently the table is slightly slanted) and slowly, ever so slowly, drip onto the floor.

Alright people, do whatever you want in your own home, BUT FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING YOU HOLD DEAR, why would you do that in front of customers?!

You get what you paid for.

Broadway Station Sushi got cheap lunch boxes and sushi plates. The quality of their food is not the greatest. If you're looking for quality, you're not going to find that here.

The services and the staff are awful. It feels like the staffs don't even want to be there and they are not attentive at all. If you don't wave down a server, you'll never get your order in.Lunch time is always packed and their service gets worst than it already is during that time.

They also have another location down on Commercial drive called "Britannia Sushi," which has similar menu to this location.

This is a hole in the wall you don't want to get into... and also the other hole down on Commercial drive.

WHY DO I KEEP GIVING THIS PLACE MY BUSINESS?!  Oh right, because it's the only sushi place between 12th and 5th:p
Today $20 got me the shoddiest sashimi I've ever had, and a roll that listed cream cheese as an ingredient (which I know better than to eat but alas, not today).  The cream cheese was just lumped on the top of the roll haphazardly so that when you put it in your mouth it's stuck on the roof like peanut butter.  Underneath the cream cheese blob was some more crappy farmed salmon sashimi, and then an oversized california roll underneath.  This place sucks.  It's always sucked, I've been there half a dozen times, and it continues to suck.  Never again!!

This place is the food equivalent of that old friend who you sometimes booty call...you don't really care about it but it's there when nothing else is.

Food...completely average. Your basic Vancity menu...they've got daily lunch specials, crazy rolls with all sorts of weird stuff in them, and a really bad selection of beer and cheap sake.

I usually get the green roll (yam and cream cheese topped with avocado), some miso soup (they never get it right that I don't want the fake crab), and a salad. To their credit, the lettuce is always fresh.

Ambiance...again, typical Vancouver sushi restaurant. I've never waited for a table but I have definitely waited for service. Notably poor/rude takeaway service...I'm guessing the ladies don't get tipped much.

I've only ordered fish-based sushi here once and I'm pretty sure I had food poisoning. It was mild enough for me to come back.

What can I say...I work in the 'hood and it's better than McDick's.

I'm pretty sure the only reason this place is able to survive is because it's the only sushi place in the neighbourhood. The food is inconsistent and ranges from sub-par to barely adequate, and friends who are less picky than I have vowed never to return. I only eat at Broadway Station Sushi because I work nearby, and the occasional sushi craving sends me grudgingly there. Though the portion sizes are reasonable and the prices fair enough, the fish rarely seems fresh, and the rolls sometimes look like they were assembled during an earthquake.

On the other hand the service is consistent: it is unfailingly terrible. Servers take orders without making eye contact, and you can forget about quality checks once your food arrives. Even something simple like a water refill is almost impossible to get. When it's busy the servers seem unable to cope, and when it's slow they are more interested in chatting with the kitchen staff than clearing tables or greeting guests.

My most recent visit may be my last. Upon my arrival just at the start of the dinner rush, a server halfway across the restaurant gestured to a large table by the door while in the middle of taking another guest's order. Because several others had arrived at the same time as me, I made it clear to her that I was alone and didn't require such a large table. She was disinterested, and although she heard me she didn't offer me another spot, so I sat down. After I had gotten settled with my tea and water, my server returned and brusquely informed me that I would have to move to a smaller table across the restaurant to make room for a larger party that had just arrived. She began to walk away before I even replied, but my silence was apparently enough of a clue even for her to understand. She then asked if I minded, to which I replied "yes", as I had already offered to take a smaller table. She gave me a dirty look and wordlessly removed the extra settings from my table. That was almost enough to prompt me to walk out, but I was feeling so spiteful that I didn't want to surrender my table. The rest of my meal was very uncomfortable, and I left without tipping for one of the few times in my life.

Overall, if you are looking to try a new sushi place, your should leave this one off your list; we are fortunate in Vancouver to have many other better restaurants. But if you're in the neighborhood and you absolutely must have sushi, then Broadway Station Sushi will get the job done. Just don't expect much, and you won't be disappointed.

Pretty good--and not bad considering there's not much sushi to choose from in this busy corridor by the 2 skytrain stations (Commercial/Broadway).  If i had to compare to DT, probably unfair, but above average nice place to dine in.  The Dragon Roll was good, chicken terayaki, alright...it seemed clean, only thing that would bother me would be the few flies in the air...

    Great Sushi!

Love this place! They have some great bento boxes. The rolls are good, the sashimi was fresh, large pieces, and ohhhhh so good!

Wish I worked in the area, I'd eat here far more often!

When this little place arrived my roommates and I started jumping for joy.....mostly because there is an absence of sushi places near Broadway Station.

I've eaten there twice now and have definitely not been disappointed by the food.  I am a recent sushi fan however, and it does not take a whole lot to please me! I recommend the Alaska roll...without roe...yes I just learned recently what roe actually is...and well not to sound completely uncultured but it grossed me out!

What I did notice about my second visit was that it was packed...I mean lineup and no tables left...but only one server....very very under staffed...we waited a looooong time to order and pay our bill (funny enough though the food came out fast!)  Considering Bdwy Stn Sushi is a relatively new restaurant I will cut them some slack...they need to adjust their levels and will probably start to since they are becoming a popular little joint!

I have been very pleasantly surprised by this place. It's your basic hole in the wall sushi joint, oh so common in Vancouver, and often the best ones. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is decent (if somewhat featureless) for eat-in, and take out is generally pretty quick.

The sushi is fine -- so far, I haven't encountered fish that was too frozen or too mushy, and the rolls on offer are good for those who like the basics or who want to try something a little more adventurous. I'm a particular fan of their gyoza and goma-ae. I often find goma-ae a little too cloying if the sauce is too sweet or if the spinach is over-sauced, but this place does it just right. Very excellent. And, as someone else pointed out in their review, there is a dearth of sushi places at this end of the Drive, so it's nice to have something decent as a go-to!

I've eaten a lot of sushi in this city and in terms of portion and price Broadway sushi is great.

The service is always prompt and friendly... not overly friendly but they acknowledge their regulars and never miss an order.
The white dragon roll is incredible - spicy tuna with green onions topped with tuna sashimi it's delicious and very filling.
The fish is fresh and the prices are very affordable especially if you're into the whole bento box thing.

If you're looking for cheap, quick and consistently good sushi on the drive look no further.

I wasn't so pleased with this restaurant. It's a generic Chinese owned Japanese restaurant. I've been here twice now, and I doubt that I'll come back unless I was desperate for some sushi.

Don't trust how the pictures look in the menu - some of them don't turn out that way.

Their smoked salmon roll is decent, but once again, nothing special. The presentation of the rolls was poor, and I can tell that they're not experienced sushi chefs.

My girlfriend and i are big sushi fans. Big vegetarian sushi fans. This place has the best Vegetarian roll we've ever had, called Vegetarian dragon roll. mmmmmm. We also enjoyed the miso soup and the agadashi tofu. The service is good but don't come here if you are in a big rush.

I'm vegetarian, so my view of sushi is narrow, but I love this place! Vegetarian gyoza, the elusive goma-ae, and the city's best inari.
