I hired Laurent with Brittany Crepes to cater a large holiday party at my house.  They surpassed all expectations -- extremely professional, delicious food, good value, impressive presentation.  All my guests were extremely happy and I'd like to use them again for a future party.

I hired Brittany Crepes to cater a breakfast event for one of our biggest clients and I have never been happier with a vendor.  Laurent's team was incredibly upbeat and extremely professional.

I've done crepe events before and the vendors have always wanted to bring either half or all of the crepes over premade and in foil.  Laurent's team made every crepe fresh for the customer.  They were pretty speedy and we served more than three hundred crepes in just a couple of hours.

If you're thinking about having a warm breakfast for your employees or clients you can confidently book Brittany Crepes.

These guys are everywhere.  I think there's like, 5 of these trucks?  Anyway, they're always at the Treasure Island Flea and the Livermore Farmer's market, and they're pretty yummy.  They have a dairy free buckwheat crepe option for Allergy Boy, meat and cheese and fish and stuff if I want a meal, and sweet fruity stuff for Blondie.

Bonus!!  After chatting up the guys at the Farmer's Market, Small Dragon talked her way into a four-hour "internship" the following Thursday evening!  She got to cut stuff up for them, and probably learn other crepe-making trade secrets.  And had lots of fun.  I deeply appreciated them for giving S.D. the chance to try something fun like this, just days after her arrival in California.  Thank you!

If the crepes are anything like what I had at Brittany Crepes & Galettes stand, I think I need to pack my bags and find myself a cute chateau in Brittany, France!

My friend and I happened upon these crepes at the Treasure Island Flea Market and we couldn't decide between savory or sweet so we did what any smart person would do and ordered BOTH!

I got the brie cheese, pesto, and tomato crepe with the organic buckwheat flour and my friend got the nutella, banana, and strawberry crepe! They're big and STUFFED! Ohhh yeahh!

Mine was DELICIOUS and the pesto complimented the cheese and tomatoes perfectly! I actually liked the buckwheat flour crepe. It added a bit of a nutty taste! My only complaint is that the cheese wasn't fully melted and it was still kind of chunky, but then again, the new guy(?) made my crepe, so maybe he's still learning...? Mr. Laurent Le Barbier himself was giving the guy tips and advice, so I'm sure the next time I get the same crepe it'll be cheesy, pesto-y, tomato goodness!

This stand needs to come to San Francisco! Please and thank you :)

Unbelievable sweet or savory crepes with traditional batter or a healthier gluten free buckwheat batter.  The egg, ham, cheese, chives crepe was divine.... and surprisingly filling.

We go to the Marin Farmer's Market on Sunday's, and this polite, helpful, sweet french gent is always there making fresh crepes on the fly.... you can't beat it.  Also let's you order off the menu in any way you want.  I would likely add bacon to everything.  Not a hipster suggestion, just a savory one.

Brittany crepes was one of the first vendors to open for biz at the eat real fest on saturday so i gave it try.

there are round grilling "stools" set up. they spray some kind of liquid on the surface, apply a scoop of liquid crepe, spread it evenly with a spreader. after a few minutes, they flip it over , a few minutes more, they ad regular ham & ameican cheese. when cooked, the crepe is cut up into quarters. and sold(2)
the strawberry crepe has strawberry preserves in it.

taste: nothing special , this coming from a non crepe eater.

    foodnotes:
    -no lines at all here.

Been lookin' for a crepe dude for awhile and I finally found a guy who can make great savory and sweet crepes.  He makes the types of crepes that reminds you why you fell in love with crepes to begin with.  Get the buckwheat!

Strawberry Preservatives Crepe $2 - Eat Real Festival
It was a very thin crepe with a layer of strawberry preservatives. It was way too sweet and I don't know why I decided to get it. I mean I don't even eat jam. I should have walked away when I read "strawberry preservatives". Did I really think that meant it would be a tasty crepe? When have I ever had a crepe with strawberry preservatives? I guess I was in an experimental mood since we had been trying a lot of different food all day. It was the worst thing I tried at the festival.

I love this stand at the Montclair Farmers Market.  I pretend that I'm going to the market to buy veggies and fruit, but really I just want one of their sweet crepes. They always have a long line, but it's worth the wait.  I lived in France and went to cooking school there, and sometimes nowadays I get a feeling when I taste certain foods -- particular touches indicate to me that someone French or French-trained is behind the food.  If there's a lot of chervil as a garnish, that's one indicator.  :)

Anyway, you can tell (besides the name) that Brittany Crepes is the real deal.  I have been repeatedly disappointed by crepes throughout the Bay Area, especially when it comes to my favorite: crepe citron (lemon, butter, sugar).  Most places use lemon juice from a bottle, or if you're lucky they pre-squeeze it many hours before and put it in a little squeeze bottle.  For such a simple crepe, you MUST have the right, fresh ingredients or it tastes really disappointing and crappy.

When I first stood in line at Brittany Crepes, I prepared my question: do you use fresh lemon?  If not, I was ready to offer to run and buy a lemon from a stand nearby just so they could put it on my crepe (ok, maybe I'm being kind of a Crepe Diva, but this is one of my all-time favorite food items and you really, really can taste the difference between fresh squeezed and bottled juice.)

Anyway, I asked them if they used fresh -- and as I did I could see a pile of cut lemons on the counter, and a few citrus squeezers.  The guy said, "Of course we use fresh!  Nothing but fresh!"

And lo, it was GOOD.   France good.  I wish they would wrap it up in paper so you could munch your crepe while you walk (instead of putting it on a plate) but I'll take whatever I can get from these guys.

Also: for other types of crepes, they also use FRESH fruit - bananas, strawberries, etc.  No canned/jellied/frozen garbage.   Love it!

This farmer's market and catering company, as they call themselves, serve crepes at the monthly Alameda Antique Fair. I shamelessly exploited the fact that there were two of us, getting the chance to sample both their savoury and their sweet. The buckwheat option for savoury crepes, is an interesting twist on the usual vanilla. The chef, sadly, spoilt mine by overdoing the pepper (is that a French thing?) although I appreciate that they offer seasoning. I true rarety. I must point out that the two men behind the counter are charming and authentic Frenchies.

I have gone to the effort of adding this new business to Yelp for one reason: yesterday they served me what was undoubtedly the best sweet crepe I have ever had the honour of tasting in my entire life. It was sweet, light and fluffy. I even took their card. I could go back for more, and more, if the line wasn't so long. And they weren't overpriced. $5 for a simple crepe with sugar, lemon and cream is a wee bit much for this simple SF girl.

I have to make sure that the world (or at least the greater Bay Area) knows about this company. They are often found at Farmer's Markets, Festivals, and are also available for private catering. I often enjoy their crepes when I am at the San Leandro Farmer's Market. Today, I had the pleasure of enjoying them at work. Every first Wednesday of the month, we enjoy some sort of edible treat. This Wednesday was the best ever of these events. The woman who organized it has been showered with praise for this idea.
    The crepes...where do I begin....
The sweet crepes are heavenly (many include fresh fruit) and are all delectable. The savory crepes are also very very good. They use fresh ingredients and they ( adorable French men) are so very friendly, it makes you smile in spite of all of the calories that you are about to consume.
I would say look them up,  find them, have a crepe....and
    Bon Appetit!

these crepes are one of the major reasons i go to the danville farmers market on saturdays. sure they have fruits and vegetables but they got some good grub at this one and the crepes are top notch.

they have it all here with sweet and savory so it's always hard to choose. i tend to lean towards the savory since my sweet tooth isn't as strong as it used to be. sweet or salty they have all the ingredients you need.

    bananas
    strawberries
    apples
    chocolate
    nutella
    whipped cream
    caramel
    butter
    sugar
    cheese
    chicken
    pesto
    tomato
    ham
    egg
    smoked salmon
    bacon

i can just go on and on but you really need to get up early on a saturday and try them all for yourself.

Bummer. Such a bummer. First issue: they use a blend of jack and cheddar (or some other orange cheese). Second issue: those of us who are not cool with such a bizarre choice must pay an extra dollar for a skimpy serving of grated swiss instead. Third issue: as if my mounting disappointment over the cheese weren't enough, my ham & cheese galette contained only two thin pieces of ham. I understand expectations are disappointments waiting to happen, but their website did say something about "traditional" crepes that I was really looking forward to. I'm sorry, but shredded cheese blends do not exactly scream l'authenticité française.

AWESOME Crepes birthday party. Laurent served some of the yummiest crepes I have ever had,. The cured Salmon was my favorite, but then again we had 35 people ordering every savory and sweet crepes he had on a very creative menu. My party was a HIT, and had friends inquiring about his services for their future parties. Money well spent for sure :-)

I discovered Brittany Crepes from the Berkeley Farmers' Market on Saturday and Lake Temescal in Oakland on Sunday.

    First Attempt - Berkeley

Their original batter, with vanilla extract, is quite tasty. I had the the Ham and Cheese crepe is nom nom nom, yummy!! The batter was thin and soft and it was made to (nearly) perfection.

    Second Attempt - Lake Temescal

Had the buckwheat batter with ham and cheese, again. Ahhhh, I don't fancy the buckwheat batter. It was kind of bland, texture is 'thicker' and dry. It taste like it was overcooked.. or maybe it WAS overcooked.

-1 star, the waiting time is long.
-1 star, i've had better.. not their fault, i'm just a picky eater.

it's the perfect way to have a party -- and eat your crepe too!

i called Laurent a few weeks ahead of the party to organize our menu, determine price, and figure out logistics. he is well-experienced and knows how to tailor the crepe menu to your audience. he also suggested fun ways to mix and match ingredients to get the most out of your meal! he works with your budget and just has nothing but a helpful and professional air about him.

on the day, Laurent was the perfect one-man caterer:
    - he arrived on time.
    - he carried everything himself - this includes all of the ingredients, tables for set-up, crepe stoves, ice boxes, a chalkboard with menu already written, cutlery and plates, and much more!
    - he made the most out of our space so that everyone could line up and he was close to a sink and plug outlet.
    - he smiled the entire time, apron and chef hat on, and even entertained all of our attempts at speaking french with him!
    - his crepes are gluten free, much to the pleasure of my baby cousin who is allergic.
    - all of his ingredients were fresh -- leading to wonderful tasting crepes!

the only complaint was that people ate too fast ;) savory, sweet -- that is what Laurent is! i would use him again without a blink when we're in the mood for a crepe party!

Laurent was awesome!  He came to our home and made crepes for my mother's birthday.  He was professional and had a great way about him.  His crepes were amazing...we had savory and sweet.  Many of our guests tracked me down to tell me how much they loved the crepes.  His ingredients were fresh and he came fully stocked.  He also had a cute tableau that had all the options, very French and cute.  Would recommend him for any party.

We hired Laurent and his team at Brittany Crepes and Galettes to cater a brunch in Marin last weekend and it was PERFECT!  Laurent took care of all the details.  He set up his station, prepped all the fresh ingredients, and made sure that the set up looked nice before anyone arrived.  He made crepes to order for all of our guests who loved being able to customize their order, watch him prepare the crepe and fillings, and eat the hot, delicious crepes.  We made a few side salads to round out the brunch but they were untouched; the crepes satisfied everyone.  I would highly recommend Laurent and Brittany Crepes for your next catered event!

Banana & Nutella Crepe..seriously for the die hard crepe lover, do I need to say more?..:)

A while back we found them in Concord on the Thursday's Farmers Market (4-8pm, close to the stage, yes there's music too).

This is a fabulous idea, I like my crepes sweet, but they offer a great variety of savory style crepes (salmon, creme fraiche, dill..I know I'm forgetting incredients here..).

Perfect food on the go and dessert too, what's not to love..:) finger licking good!

I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my 40th birthday at home with a bunch of good friends. And a huge part of it was because of Laurent's top notch service and authentic Brittany style crêpes. We had a few guests who are either from the same region in France, or are familiar with crêpes from Brittany. And they were all blown away by how authentic and delicious Laurent's crêpes are, both savory and sweet. I particularly like his personal touch of bringing a chalk board written with the menu. He's extremely professional, arriving early to set up his station, chatted with the guests when they placed their orders, and cleaned up the station promptly when the party was over. Everyone loved the idea. His prices are very reasonable, considering we fed 35 guests in our house! We have friends who are seriously considering booking him for their future special events. I'd be the first one to RSVP to those events as I'd love to try more versions of his crêpes. Thanks Laurent for helping make my birthday that much more memorable.

Yesterday morning, my husband and I finished off our first trip to the Danville Farmer's Market with the intent of sharing one savory crepe and sweet crepe.  He had the bacon one, and I had the apple confit.  As we enjoyed the delicious savory crepe, I reached for a napkin and knocked over the water bottle, spilling water all over my scrumptious looking apple confit with caramel sauce and chantilly.  I sadly walked over to the stand to get napkins and your man behind the stand asked what was wrong.  He asked me to bring him the ruined one and that he would make me a new one.  When I tried to pay for it, he said, "What is this?  You already paid me!  Get out of here!  I don't want to see you anymore!"  I was embarrassed for ruining the crepe, but I was so humbled and grateful by his great customer service.  The crepe was delicious, with clearly the freshest ingredients.  I think we will go back for more next Saturday.  I definitely want to try the buckwheat crepe.
