Like all the Mark James Group pubs this place is a winner.
Service here is fast and friendly and it fits in really well with the casual atmosphere.
The menu is pretty compact and all the dishes I've tried over the years are very well executed. This time they had some food specials on and I tried the marinated chicken thigh burger. They've done a great job turning what is otherwise a bland piece of meat into something tasty. The meat was cooked perfectly so it was still tender and juicy. The sauteed mushrooms and dijon mayo were the perfect condiments.
The burger comes with the choice of fresh cut fries, or a mixed green salad. The salad is simple but wonderful. It comes very lightly dressed with a homemade vinaigrette. You also can't go wrong with the fresh cut fries.
My friends tried the beef burger and all were very happy with it. A few comments were made that they were happy Brewhouse still uses ground beef for their burgers as opposed to a generic patty. -

Came in and tried this place last week and was disappointed. For one the menu is way to overpriced for second the beer selection is average at best. We were placed in the bar "to wait" but were not given any instructions and were about to leave till they said they had a table for us.
Ordered the "Greek" which turned out to be a bunch of french fries with minimal greek toppings. i.e. feta, lamb etc. They trick you by saying po-ta-toes thinking you are getting more traditional greek entree, but no they are fries.
The rest of the table was not impressed, as they tried to spice up chicken fingers by putting "ginger" next to it. This is not a sushi spot, and chicken fingers should not be $16.
If I was not still glowing from all the powder on the mountain, I would resented this spot even more.
Should of went to Earls..... -

A good stop in place if you're in the Whistler village.
My boyfriend and I got into town late after heading up to Whistler from Seattle and we're looking for a good atmosphere with late night eats. We ended up in the Brewhouse, which was empty on the dining side, but pretty hoppin' on the bar side. We sat ourselves in some big comfy seats, ordered up some drinks and enjoyed the televisions and hilarious little train that travels above, as we decided on food. Unfortunately they didn't have that many options for the allergies I have, but they were able to make me up a chicken and french fry meal. The chicken was a bit dry, but the french fries were to die for :). To top it all off, the pizza my boyfriend ordered was on happy hour and was only $9...not bad for some late night dining.
Although I wasn't the biggest fan of the food, If you are looking for a good drink spot with appetizers this is the place. -

I came in here last winter with my family for lunch. I thought the food was ok. The beer on the other hand was delicious.
Honestly, no one does American food better than Americans. -

This place is great if you're REALLY hungry. It's a nice concept, with nothing super exceptional, but good for a result.
Best enjoyed in a large group. -

This is a very popular place as we had to wait 30 minutes for a table of 4 without reservations. Not a problem as the bar has plenty of room while you wait. The menu features several wood fire roasted items from pizzas to chicken. The services was good and they feature several of their own micro brews on tap. The food was decent . I had the pizza which and have certainly have had better, so I may have been more impressed by one of their other wood fired items.

Really enjoyed our experience at the Brewhouse. The food was good - my husband loved the beef ribs which were huge - and the service was friendly and down to earth. For the beers, we had the Lifty Lager and the Alta Lake Ale. The Lifty Lager tasted similar to a budweiser/coors run of the mill beer, but the Alta Lake Ale was very tasty with better flavors. I would come back again for a laid back meal in a contemporary, yet cozy brewhouse atmosphere.

I was hoping for more, tried the seasonal beer and if I had stopped there they would have gotten a better rating, but I went on to order the Margaretta pizza and they is where they fell short. Has a beer place they may be worthy of 4.5 stars based on my group, but as a restaurant they are worth maybe 2 stars, and we came here to eat first enjoy beer second.
My recommendation go eat else where and stop in here for a beer. -

This place was a surprising delight! It was a little later than lunch, and it was fairly empty. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. I got a salmon salad, it was really delicious with a surprising combination of flavors. My husband had a burger, he was pleased. The fries were very good.
There's a train that drives around the top of the restaurant. I can't forget to mention that. Another surprising delight. -

My prime rib was $33 and it was the worst prime rib-nay, steak I've ever tried to eat. It was chewy and poorly cooked, definitely a bad cut in the least, but turned me off ever eating here again.
I was offered another meal on the house, didn't take them up on the offer, and the chef came out and apologized. My meal was comped so I'm going with 3 stars instead of 1. I hear the ribs are good! Do not get the Lifty Lager. You may as well drink lemonade. Worst. beer. ever. -
Review from Jeff M.
We were directed here by our zip line tour guide. We asked for a good place for lunch and when our guide said try the "Brewhouse" started by a local guy, we thought, "okay, sounds like a good place to go for a casual lunch".
The Brewhouse was definitely a nice place with a lot of local charm. Cool furnishings, fun train circulating overhead (with advertisements), and a nice restaurant/bar separation. But it was not the nice local place we were expecting. It was nice and local, but the prices were not.
The service was fine (quite helpful for a friend who needed some to eat, quick). The food was good, but not extraordinary. We shared a personal pizza ($17 for one of these) and we each had a starter. This worked pretty well, and helped keep the cost down. Cost was our biggest issue. Two beers (decent lagers), a soda, a starter for each, and a shared (personal) pizza cost us $60+ tip.
Consider this place more of a place for wealthy tourists (staying in the best hotels) to hang out for a meal with the regular people (or at least think they are). I'm a regular person and for me, this place was too expensive for lunch, and I am sure, is too expensive for dinner. If I want a pub, this is probably not where I would go. -
Review from Daria S.
The staff was very accommodating on the phone and in person. They took our lunch reservation for a group of 35 and seated us as we walked in. The prices were a bit steep, but that's just Whistler. The twisted raspberry lemonade and salmon chowder were good. The wait staff made our big visit easy and I didn't hear one complaint from anyone in our big group.

Very good beer selection. I recommend their sampler since they practically give you pint glasses for their sample sizes. We had the wood grilled bbq chicken pizza which was decent and the poutine which was interesting...
I never tried poutine before, but I heard it's a signature dish in Canada. French Fries, cheese, and gravy. On paper you think...OMG why didn't the US think of this combo? But after you try it, you wonder does it really work or not. The fries tend to be a little more on the starchy side (not like the good old Idaho potatoes) and the gravy....kind of tastes like Sapporo Ichiban Ramen....if you don't know what it is, don't worry. But if you do know, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Great beer selection. Nothing stood out, but I was pretty pleased with the selection. -

Over the river and through the woods, to the Brewhouse for grub we go! Just across the bridge and next door to the fire station, this pub is a must.
Our favourites:
Fish and Chips
Mac N Cheese
Chop Chop Chicken Salad
Custom Brews
Love the little train track that runs throughout the pub. Very clever.
Huge river rock fireplace might offer the best seating in the house if you can snag a seat next to it.

Recent visit during off-season. Not sure why I keep going here-- I really want to like it. Ate and drank in the bar area and had great attentive service from a pleasant waitress. Ordered a pizza and mac and cheese. Both were satisfying after long day of riding.
I still can't get into the beer though. Some of them are passably drinkable. I had a few Belgian Wit's this last visit, friend was drinking the IPA. Both were a little funny tasting-- we couldn't put a finger on it. I always want them to have a porter or a stout but they never do-- or maybe something big like a Belgian Trippel or a double IPA.
I could never stay here and drink beer for a long time into the evening because the beer is just not that interesting, but not bad for an afternoon/early evening snack and one or two beers.

Overpriced, below average, dressed-up pub food. But since this is Whistler, they can get away with it. Had the fish tacos and it was a major disappointment: bland cheap pieces of fish, barely any toppings or sauce. My buddy had the spaghetti bolognese- for $18.99 you get a small portion of blah pasta, nothing special. Go to a cheaper pub and you'll enjoy it way more, plus save yourself some cash for partying after.

Nice atmosphere and great service, but oh, the food! Really sub par. Giant ribs look pretty cool, but are dry and lacking in flavour. Sliders were like little shrivelled pieces of coal on a bun. A nice bun, but really, the meat was terrible. Pizza might be good, but really odd flavours. Decent crust, but just not quite right.
We sat in the bar at first and was attracted by the burger, but when we moved to the restaurant, turns out the burger is the only thing not on the menu. Why? Well, the servers were perplexed, but the manager told me that the owner, Mark James, feels that burgers lower the tone of the restaurant. Huh? This place serves chicken wings and poutine! What a stupid reason to not serve the burger. Could it be that the rest of the menu is way over priced? This place is more expensive than Milestones and Earls, but not near in quality.
Another odd thing. Canucks game was on, but they decided not to show it. I asked. After about ten minutes into the game, they switched over. Then they switched back to basketball and then eventually back to Canucks. That was pretty annoying.
Beer is interesting, so go for a pint, by all means, but otherwise, best to avoid this rather pretentious and overpriced bar type restaurant. -

ok, I'm not a beer drinker and I like the beer here.. so I guess thats a good sign... The best part is the location. Its right next to winter oplympic symbol.
About the food... well... I got a burger w/poutine. The poutine was great, but the burger... NOT really. Over coooked. and not really flavored.
Service and enviroment was great. Excelent place to hang.
I went over lunch, and for some reason I got an approx of 20% dsct. Which WAS EXCELENT! :) -

Been regulars at the Brew House for many years, food has always been exceptional.
This year is an exception.
Got off the hill early to go in for the world fdamous French Dip - NO LONGER ON THE MENU!
had their prime rib sliders instead, what a disappointment, served on a pretzel bun cased in salt. Took two beers to cut the salt, cannot reccommend for lunch.
lunch was not edible, told the serrver and the charge was still on the bill.
Only reason BH got a 2 was for the beer and service.
Will not return for lunch.

The food wasn't all that great, the beer was good, the table service, meh. What can you expect from a place that has two kinds of condoms (one of which glows in the dark), Obsession cologne, and gum in the bathroom vending machine?
If you've got to make yourself smell better than you did when you walked in, to be able to get some ski/bmx/hiking chick to check out your glow in the dark winkie, does it really matter how good the food is?
Kudos to Jennifer in the bar, she was quick with our drinks and friendly, while we waited for our table. Too bad she couldn' t have been our waitress at our table too.
And there was also live music in the bar on a Saturday afternoon. Hmm, the better things seem to be occurring in the bar. -

I was never enchanted with Brewhouse. The food is basically on par with Chili's. I felt the brews were hit or miss. I did enjoy their beer sampler.
I would recommend the brewery tours to those who need a break from skiing. The tour days and time can be found in the Pique.Listed in: Whistler Eats, Heating Up Whistler

I'm only rating this place for the food - or the lack of what I've eaten there. I'm vegetarian, but I don't think they have anything on the menu that can accommodate a vegetarian. The waiter was also indifferent that they didn't have anything for vegetarians or be willing to see if the kitchen could make something.
If I were to rate this place for the beer and atmosphere, I'd give it three stars.
If you're vegetarian, this is NOT the place for you. -

I love stopping at the Whistler Brewhouse after a day on the slopes. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, and the bar area is my version of guy heaven. I particularly enjoy a few pints at the bar, watching hockey games in glorious high definition.
The Brewhouse brews its own beer, which is excellent. They often have a delightful seasonal and I am a big fan of their mainstay Wolf Creek Bitter and Grizzly Brown Ale. The pub food is excellent, but the restaurant food is merely okay. They do tours of the brewery on Fridays and Saturdays at 3PM, which I recommend to fellow beer enthusiasts. -

I came here around 2pm on a monday, and the place was practically empty. We were promptly greeted by a waitress, and seated (outside at our request, although we switched to inside later because insects are evil). The waitress was friendly and came by to take our orders in a decent amount of time: I had the veggie burger and the boyfriend had the brewhouse beef burger. I was also pleased to see that there was at least one vegetarian item in each category on the menu.
The atmosphere was nicely rustic, with a neat little train that ran around near the ceiling covered in advertisements. The music piping over the speakers was nothing but overdone pop, including that horrible nickelback song - you know the one I mean.
When our food was ready, from the semi-open kitchen where you could see the top halves of the chefs but not what they were doing, we saw it sitting there for about 5 or 10 minutes waiting to be taken to our tables. Because of the open plan of the restaurant, we could also see our waitress chatting away, and then busying herself at the drink station, ignoring our now cooling food.
When it did arrive, the food was pretty good. I have to say, for the price I was expecting a bit more for a burger with an yves veggie patty; the fries however were delicious, and the boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his burger. -
Review from Jamie M.
We spent the morning snowshoeing around Lost Lake Park up at Whistler and were ready to warm up and refuel at around 1. I was afraid all the restaurants would be packed but since this place is a few blocks from the main ski lifts, it didn't seem as busy. We decided to share an Italian pizza and a Caesar salad (both pretty good). My boyfriend also ordered an Alta Lake ale and really enjoyed it. This place is a little expensive, although it's the only place we actually ate at in Whistler, so I don't have much to compare it to. My boyfriend actually enjoyed this meal so much he wanted me to give them five stars...I didn't enjoy it quite as much as him, but it was still pretty good so I figured four stars is fair. We'll probably try some new restaurants the next time we're in Whistler, but it's good to know that this place will be a safe fall back plan.

The Brewhouse is a nice place to go for a pizza and a beer and/or to watch a Canucks game. They brew their own beer, make good pizza, and pretty good hamburgers.
Favourite choices of mine are the Red Truck Ale, the BBQ Chicken pizza, and the Johnny Mac pizza.
The Red Truck is a slightly hoppy English style ale, flavourful but still refreshing.
The BBQ Chicken pizza has roast chicken, red onion, and mozzarella on a BBQ sauce base. I find the BBQ sauce to be too sweet so I substitute their regular pizza sauce (which is nothing special really), and you're probably going to want extra chopped cilantro to add more flavour.
The Johnny Mac pizza has capicolla ham and mushrooms, if you usually get a pepperoni and mushroom pizza then this is for you.
I prefer to sit in the bar rather than in the restaurant, there is more energy and the big double-sided fireplace provides more atmosphere than you will find in the dining room. -

Best beer in the village! The IPA was great and place is cozy, comfortable, and away from the chaos of the chair lifts. It's kid friendly and the food and hospitality of the staff was better than expected in a ski village. I should have stayed for a second beer as the other places I visited were all downhill (pun) after the brewhouse.

Review from Sonia C.
This place has a warm and bustling environment, good place to relax after a day of skiing. We snagged our own table in the bar area right next to the fireplace and decided to order a few plates to share, including:
- barbecue chicken pizza: good, with a chewy thin crust.
- artichoke dip: not that great, tasting very strongly of cream cheese and served with slightly stale chips
- seafood pasta: decent tomato cream sauce but the chunks of salmon were very mildy fishy
- "Big Ass" beef ribs: true to their name, brushed with a sweet bbq sauce, very meaty, but the meat wasn't quite tender enough to tear cleanly off the bone. It was also too sinewy and I wished it came with dental floss in addition to fries
As with all places in Whistler, it's a little bit on the pricy side. Decent service despite the bustle. They also brew their own beer, but the one we tried tasted like Bud Light. -
Review from Reena M.
They had a good selection of house-brewed beers. Unfortunately, we had to hear the news of death of Michael Jackson here as we sat down. And esp. for my best friend who was an avid MJ fan, it wasn't the happiest pint.
Nevertheless, the pint was good and the server was friendly and helpful. -

Surprisingly at 8pm on a Saturday night on a Volleyball tournament weekend - there was a picnic table on the patio for our group of 6. The waitress seemed super nice at the beginning... but our drinks seem to have taken forever - I don't know if that's the bar's duty of if she was just tied up. WE jumped at taking our orders because we would not see our waitress for 15 minutes at a time. One of the gals had finished her caesar and it tasted so good I wanted one too. But the waitress came back so quickly and offered to bring her a second one and dashed off before I even got to say I wanted to put i in an order........... I just decided not to bother because I could've finished my meal before the drink came out (if I ordered it).
To my surprise, the food came out quick! and it was really good. The ribs were absolutely monstrous with a giant slab of mashed potatoes that honestly could have fed a family. The mac and cheese was baked in a casserole dish and was probably one of two vegetarian dishes. I dont know if there was a fine print about service charge but it was applied to our group of 6... good thing someone had noticed... maybe it's just a Whilster thing.
oh.. they do not accept DEBIT!?!?? -

Big points today for Brewhouse woo-hoo!
Our MOST patient, excellent server Haley was victim to my allergy guidelines and didn't blink an eye about it.
She arranged for my very customized lunch of:
Sliced Roast Beef, Carrot Ginger Slaw and Hummos. Weird lunch? maybe. Yummy lunch for sure!
The guys had one Beef and one Buffalo Burger, which, tasty as they were, the size they said was disappointing for the menu price. The beers were nice in that they are micro brewed, however not outstanding in character.
Now, onto the fries and why I didn't have any.
Battered Fries.
Who the hell invented THAT? What, potato is too expensive now? We need filler in fries?!
gr-r-r-r-r.
I was just P.O'd because it meant I shouldn't order them.
We sat outside in the shade, and secretly enjoyed the smokey smell in the air from the forest fires. -
Review from Rox R.
Would have visited twice but I wanted to try some new places. This place rocked. I loved the atmosphere. My roast beef sandwich was fab with the potato leek soup. Boysenberry wheat was good, my partners Brown was fab on nitro. He got a growler with the red and I thought was better than the brown actually. Growler was $$ but it was colder than the only liquor store in the area.
My partner had the Dr. Hopkins fish tacos- would highly recommend. Good Halibut.
The waitress was super friendly and helpful. She told us of this great women's night deal- unfortunately it wasn't offered anymore but shew wasn't sure anyway.
Overall, great place. No complaints. Easy to find- end of the village stroll. -
Review from Tristan S.
Food's pretty good, all of the beer's great, and they have a locomotive.
Have been several times. Best dish I've had is the margherita pizza: thin, crunchy crust and tasty. Had salmon which was so-so but not bad (I haven't had bad salmon in BC yet.)
If you can, ask to choose your table. First night we were there on our last trip and got a great 2nd-floor table with a decent view of the beautiful lit trees outside. Second time we had a cramped table underneath some huge stairs and next to a prep station. Not the most comfy atmosphere.
They get an extra star for the beer (I hear it's the only place in the village that brews & serves their own), and for the music: classic rock that, at times, reminded me of college in Bloomington, IN, courtesy of John Cougar Mellencamp.
And they have a moving train going around the restaurant, a big plus for my 2-year-old nephew. -

I had the most delicious carbonara at the Whistler Brewpub the other day. My gosh, it was to die for. I liked it so much that I tried to re-create it last night at home.
I would go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat. Not only was the meal fantastic, but also the staff were friendly and the service was efficient. They also had a great wine list and we indulged in an inniskillin Pinot Gris.
But my favourite thing about the Whistler Brewpub is the open fireplace that I sat beside. So cosy and warm whilst it snowed outside - just magical! -
Review from Sam E.
A ski resort pub like this generally would be an automatic 2 star because of the premium one is forced to pay for the convenience of eating within walking distance of a lift. While you certainly pay extra for average food here (stick to the pizzas), the beer is an amazing value. Not only do they brew their own delicious beers but they also serve them in enormous glasses- easily one of the best values in town.
In addition to their standard varieties they also have seasonal specialities. Currently on tap (in August) is a ginger-honey IPA that rocks my little world. -
Review from Charles R.
After a long day of snowboarding, this place sounded so good. Thankfully, it delivered on satiating any hunger.
The BBQ Chicken Pizza was really good, especially for a relatively thin crust . The star of the meal was the Red Truck Ale. So So good. I sampled the Grizzly Brown Ale..it was thicker and not very flavorful. My friend got the half chicken meal and this mashed potatoes were really good.
The place has a nice atmosphere, lots of sports TVs on around. Our server was fast and friendly. I liked it so much I may just go back there tonight for a drink tonight whist here in Whistler on holiday. -
Review from Just Y.
In the last three visits to Whistler, I've been here four times (I've also been to their sister Yaletown in Vancouver quite a few times, but that's neither here nor there.) No matter how busy they are, I've never had bad service. In fact, often the server has been chattier than I would think they have time for during busy nights. Quick with the initial drink order, quick to keep them filled, good timing with food order, and no lag with the bill. What more can you as for.
I always enjoy their beers. None of them would I consider the best on the planet, but only a few I wouldn't order if served elsewhere. Get the sampler every so often: comes with absolutely every beer they have, including seasonal - 12 bucks. Then get the "pints", or "Big Ass [style]", for 6.50. In the summer its great outdoors and in the winter, as was last night, indoors by the fireplace watching hockey and playing their Player Fights You Get A Shot game.
For pub food, it's pretty good - still pub food, not fine dining. I've never ordered anything I've regretted and everything is always well presented. The menu is certainly geared for speed, and my belief is that many of the fresh ingredients they buy pre-prepared (think shredded lettuce in a bag), but I've never been served anything not fresh. -
Review from Betty Y.
We came here on our first night in town. We came here the last time we were in Whistler so we knew what to expect.
The husband and I just wanted to sit down for a casual dinner after a long day of travel, complete with delayed flights.
We ordered and shared:
Chopped salad - pretty good
Beef Pie - aka Shepard's Pie - was just ok. It was actually bland which is very surprising for me. Normally, foods like this are really salted and overpowering.
Too full for dessert.
2 Stars for the disappointing beef pie / shepard's pie dish.
I'd probably still come back because the menu is extensive, just not getting that dish again. -
Review from E W.
We had a really solid lunch here during the Olympics. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. We each sampled their pale ale and I followed that with the lager. Food ordered were appetizers -- a light house salad, vegetarian egg roles and a flatbread. Service was just as we'd hoped. The atmosphere of this restaurant feels like a ski lodge so it feels comfy. We also saw the burgers and fries going out from the kitchen when we walked in and they looked phenomenal but we weren't that hungry.
I really like Yaletown Brewery and I didn't know that company owns multiple restaurants, including this one, until I saw them listed on the back of the menu. I'll go back when I'm next in Whistler. -

Excellent service & food. Loved the onion soup!
