Perfect place for a nice evening out with good friends.  The food was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  We shared appetizers of the mushroom tapas (mix mushroom on puff pastry - great flavours), and mussels.  I enjoyed my roasted scallops on risotto, and my dining companions were enthusiastic about their entrees, which included the seafood alfredo, maple-ginger salmon, and lemon haddock.  Bread pudding dessert wasn't warm enough, meh.  Maybe we should've had the apple crisp the waiter recommended but it's an affront to my senses to pay $7 for a dessert I can whip up myself in 10 minutes.

Prices are what I would consider standard for Toronto: $10-15 appetizers and $20-30 for entrees.  Not sure how that would be on the Fredericton scale.

I would definitely go back next time I'm in Fredericton.  Maybe next year my daughter will successfully catch the eye of Mark, our waiter.  My daughter is one year old and she couldn't take her eyes off of him --but to her credit he did look a bit like a young Ryan Reynolds.

You've passed by often, heard good and bad, and even stopped to check out the menu a couple times.
Brewbaker's is a great place to spend a night among friends. Perfect for that night you want to feel luxurious, perhaps slip into that new dress, polish off those John Varvatos and prepare yourself for the wine list which is a mile long.

It was my last night in Fredericton and couldn't leave without giving BB's a shot. It was a Tuesday and turns out it's Half-Priced Apps (until 9pm or something)  So my friend and I decided to order a bottle of red and go nuts trying spme appatisers.
*Baked Brie w/ caramelized onions, candied pecans topped with balsamic reduction
    *Classic Bruschetta
*Smoked salmon w/ dill cream cheese
Then we each had a maple glazed chicken pizza.
    All delicious, yumm.

Considering the Tuesday night special, the price wasn't THAT bad. Though the wine is (almost always) marked way up.
The night was a success and we had fun. I'd go back, but only on Tuesdays and maybe once or twice a year since Fredericton has much more wonderful restaurants to offer.

Went here last Friday with my wife.  Service was spot on - we were greeted and seated quickly and our server was cheerful and attentive.  The atmosphere is wonderful and we love the open kitchen.

The bruschetta appetizer was excellent tasting but I felt the presentation was lacking.  It is served as a whole baguette fully dressed and presented on a cutting board with a knife to cut yourself.  The idea is great but in practice, the toppings fall off and it turns into a mess.  They should probably tweak the dish a tiny bit and slice it in the kitchen.

I ordered the braised beef short ribs.  The flavours were wonderful but the texture of the meat was rubbery and full of connective tissue.  The meat was not raw but because of the other textures, the dish was undercooked in terms of the length of time required for the collagen to melt and become fall-off-the-bone tender.

We shared the cheese cake for dessert, which was super rich and delicious.

Overall, it's expensive for what you get but worth it maybe once a year.

This place is a bit over rated I think, the food is OK.  Better now that they have changed chef's again but still not the best.  Prices are decent and the wait staff are very very friendly.  I find your portions are not all that big especially for the price you pay.  I will continue to go back, as it seems that's were most people think is the best place to eat in town.

My wife and I ate here last night. Even though we had a reservation, the hostess unfortunately sat us in a noisy part of the restaurant next to the open-concept kitchen.

Our server, whose nametag stated he was also the manager on duty, came by a few minutes later and said he'd be with us shortly. About five minutes went by then he stopped by for our drink order, I was still deciding what I was going to have for a main course, so asked him to come back.

A few more minutes passed, and he came back. We were ready to order, but he gave a spiel on the nightly specials then took off before we could.

After ordering or appetizer, main courses and drinks, it took about eight minutes to recieve our drinks. Fifteen minutes later, I saw our bruschetta being plated, witnessed our server watch it be put in the pass, look at the bill and then walk away. I watched him walk by what was obviously our food two more times before he finally brout it over to us.

Once the bruschetta was in front of us, it was delicious; the tomatoes basil and balsamic were spot on. I just wish I hadn't had to get my fingers messy cutting the bread.

Our main courses arrived in an appropriate time after we finished our appetizer. My wife ordered the margharita pizza, which, dispite the inclusion of tomato sauce was tasty, after requesting some balsamic vinegar to round out the flavour profile of the dish.

I had ordered the trout, which was apparently garnished with roasted trout skin. I was wrong. The trout was simply over cooked, and badly at that. Dry and completely inedible. I caught our servers attention and let him know of the problem. He went right over to the kitchen and had a new one put on.

When the remake took nearly ten minutes to finish (trout, being quite thin, in my experience takes about five), I was getting worried about my remake, but when it arrived at our table, it was perfectly done; moist and flaky. I really enjoyed the balance of flavours between the lemon and oregano in the dish.

We were interrupted while eating for our server/manager to let us know that dessert would be on the house; which was a nice touch, though I would have perferrd better timing on the announcement, such as while clearing our supper plates.

My wife had the vanilla crême brulée, while I tried the chocolate pot de crême. Both were quite good, though it seemed like a bit of a 'skin' had formed on the top of the pot de crême.

The coffee with desert was also very good.

Overall, an enjoyable experience, but with some minor but noticable service flaws.

A few notes about setting: Open concept kitchens are fine, but if you have one, please make sure that all of your cooks are obeying food safety regulations. I saw several not wearing hats. This is basic.

Secondly, all of your equipment should be in good repair. The rusted, beaten-up, held together with tape and luck plastic-wrap despensers were quite distracting, as was the generaly messiness of some of teh shelving units, which were right in my line of view.

It as always been a fairly decent, steak, seafood, italian, fusion style of restaurant.  MOst people dress up accordingly.  THey have gone through a number of managers and chefs.  THey have an extensive wine selection and had, at one time anyway, an onduty sommelier to handle the more discriminating oenophiles.  I have had italian fare as well as steak.  other meals I've had include the blackened chicken carbonara, maple syrup chicken and the coconut chicken.  We like chicken, what can I say.  The steaks are delicious and excellently done.    THey made a wicked caesar salad.  SHe had Greek salad once or twice and thought it was lovely.  The cheesecake dessert is decadently delicious!   Under one of it's manager's, the bread tray was freely replenished- almost to the extent that it filled me up before the main course arrived..  They made the bread fresh out of the oven and then brought it to your table.   mmmmmmm.. good stuff.
The inside dining is much better than the outside upper patio. Inside, I'd pick a deuce along the wall overlooking King Street.  I've been there on special occasions such as new year's eve dinner as well as dining out on the town.  Each time, it was good food, good service and an overall good experience.
The bill for two was about 60 to 70 dollars- with wine & beer.  We spent more than an hour there and it was a good night out.
