Absoultely perfect for a couples getaway. If you decide to stay at the Brentwood Resort you will not be dissappointed! The rooms are fantastic with a huge jetted tub & a window looking into the main part of the room (with shutters to close for privacy), plus a very nice shower too. Nice gas fireplace and terrific balcony with a STELLAR view of the bay and marina. Plus they even provide candles, so romantic.AND the bed was oh, so comfortable.

The spa was a great experience too. I had a massage and the lady was so professional and "on" that even though I receive deep tissue from a licensed MST at home, my relaxation massage was very nice and measured up to my standards.

Every staff member was extremely nice and helpful. Both the pub and the Seagrille had delicious food with great service. Outdoor hot tub was clean and the right temp. The pool was perfect for the hot/cold plunge that really invigorates you. The marina was fun to walk around and chat with locals who moore year-round. Overall, not a single complaint. I highly recommend this resort!!

A lovely and romantic place to spend the night! A small 5 star ocean front hotel on Vancouver Island in Victoria. Each rooms have a private patio that look out on to the bay and it's a wonderful place to sit and relax after a long trip. The hotel is contemporary yet relaxed and the large room and amenities are not much of an incentive to leave your room:  "king bed with fine Italian linens, a romantic fireside seating area, handcrafted furnishings, and a luxurious spa-like bathroom with a jetted tub and body massage shower."

Upon arrival you are greeted with a glass of sparkling wine or water. The staff is helpful and nice. With your room rate you receive a complementary breakfast...and it's not your standard continental breakfast. There are two small restaurants (a pub and an upscale dinning room) both with excellent menus. The hotel also offers a spa and heated pool, though we didn't get around to trying either.

This is by far one of the nicest places I've ever stayed and I would recommend everyone make a trip up to BC to stay at the Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa!

During our 10-day trip around the Pacific Northwest region, we were extremely lucky enough to have the stars align and bring us to Brentwood Bay Lodge & Spa for my husband's 26th birthday.

Originally I had decided on celebrating my husband's birthday by staying in Vancouver and at the Opus Hotel for $320ish/night (including a 20% discount).. but having decided to take a ferry to Vancouver Island, I stumbled upon BBLS via Yelp and was lucky enough to receive $80 off the $279/night rate (approx. 30% discount) which was quite heaven sent!

At first I was unsure whether to stay in Downtown Victoria where I would be paying $150ish to stay at the Marriott *yawn* or to stay about 20 minutes away in Brentwood Bay. I figured that it is not necessary to always stay in downtown, especially for the price we are paying for a not-so-special experience.. so I decided on BBLS.

During our ferry to Vancouver Island, I was nervous to see how the lodge was like... but when we actually arrived, I was BLOWN AWAY. It was near the Swartz Bay ferry terminal and it was absolutely gorgeous. The website and the yelp reviews didn't do it that much justice at all! My husband was also very happy and amazed at how cheap it was to stay at such a NICE place. In the summer, the rates run as high as $1100 for two nights! I can totally see why.

Now, let's talk about the service and experience staying at BBLS...

When we checked in, they were very polite and welcoming. They had complimentary "sparkling" water in a nice container waiting for guests in the lobby. It's usually filled with berries/fruits and looks so tantalizing even for being just water! After checking in, they walk you to your room and go over all the details in the room. I've never experienced that before and hope to more in the future :)

When we got there I was WOW'ed all the way.. it was really just a room I wanted to stay in forever and not leave! We were only staying for one night and it made it that much more harder to part the room when we were going about our day.

They have a spa, pool, fitness room near the marina, a marina right outside, a bridge that leads guests to the marina (instead of walking on the rocks), a washer/dryer on site, eco tours and fun water activities for guests to sign up for like kayaking and mini-cruises around the bay, a popular pub amongst the locals, and a fine-dining restaurant called Seagrille.

Another thing I'd also like to mention is that they had a free bottle of Merlot waiting for us in the room when we arrived. :)

Definitely will do a return trip at least once in my life... I'm already dying to return to the tranquility and beauty that encompasses Brentwood Bay! Victoria wasn't looking so hot after we discovered this diamond in the rough.

PS. Did I mention that they offer FREE long distance calls, wi-fi AND parking?! Really awesome.

    $199/night with promotion booked direct.

Thank you reviews on yelp for pointing me to this hotel!

My husband and I spent 4 of the best nights in Victoria at The Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa!  When we arrived there was a mix-up with our reservations and they were so apologetic and worked hard to resolve the issue.  The whole staff was so friendly and helpful with whatever you needed!

The room was spectacular...all rooms face the bay.  The bath tub was huge and every thing was so clean.  There was turn down service every night that included a treat:)  Fresh flowers and cookies also came in the room!  Oh and the best thing about the room....free calls to America!

One thing you should do....KAYAK!!!!  Rent kayaks right from the hotel and you will be amazed by all the wildlife.  Also, eat at both restaurants...breakfast was just ok at SeaGrille...but dinner at SeaGrille and The Pub was fantastic.

I was so sad to leave this relaxing romantic hotel.....You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

I have to give this wonderful place 5 stars: I proposed there!  Better than that, she said yes!  So this review may be extremely biased.  Nevertheless, I must say I'm so glad I chose this place.  We didn't have time to take advantage of its spa amenities, but the accommodations were faultless, and the staff combined the discretion of a large hotel with, when we wanted, the warm, family feeling of an intimate inn.  Our veranda had a panoramic view of the Bay, and we took a heavenly after dinner stroll down to the marina below, where towering power yachts moored next to more familiar sailboats, the stars hovering just above our heads in the crystal clear night air, and a sprinkle of shore lights shimmering out across the Bay.  Our room was elegantly appointed with a great bed and charming french doors between the spa/tub and the sleeping area, separated only by a string of candles.  Water pressure to die for, with multiple jets in the shower.  We just spent 2 days there but naturally I'll never forget them; only a small part of that was the Resort, but it was a very important part.  Since we had so little time in the area, and there really aren't many restaurants near Brentwood Bay, we ended up eating dinner at the SeaGrill, a late night meal at the sushi bar, and a snack at the pub.  All were excellent, particularly the SeaGrill and sushi bar.  In fact, other than High Tea at the Empress, we had all our meals at the Resort, which we rarely do.

We intend to return; the resort offers more active diversions than the spa, including sailing, kayaking, and scuba.  It's just a lovely place to stay, and for me, the perfect place to pop The Question.

My husband took me here two years ago today and proposed to me at Butchart Gardens. The staff was incredible, after he proposed I found out how much the staff had helped him out. The night he planned for us to go to the gardens it had snowed and the cabs were busy with christmas partygoers in Victoria, and we were without a vehicle. After the front desk lady had told us it was going to be over an hour to wait for a cab we headed to the room disappointed. As soon as we got back to the room the phone rang and it was the front desk, one of the women working offered to drive us herself. I was really taken back by that offer and kept saying to my now husband that I couldn't believe the generosity! After my then boyfriend had proposed to me at Butchart Gardens he told me how much the BBR staff had helped him and that someone must have told the lady working the front desk that he had planned to propose at the Butchart Gardens and so she made sure his plans went without a hitch and gave us a ride. I'm sooo glad she did. His proposal was amazing and it wouldn't have been possible without the help of the BBR front desk staff :) Thank you!!! :)

We stayed in the suite with the hot tub on the balcony. It was the most comfortable bed to sleep in and bedding was comfortable. The sushi was absolutely to die for. So delicious. The fish and chips were very good too. You really don't have to leave the resort at all for anything if you didn't want to.

The spa was absolutely fantastic. We had two couples massages while we were were there for 3 days. I had a pedicure, manicure, and pedicure complete with some sushi for lunch in the spa lounge. Perfect.

Not one complaint about this resort and we can't wait to go back one day to celebrate an anniversary (or a few ;))!

I'm just seconding everyone else, here. We had a lovely stay at the Brentwood Bay Lodge. We had an oceanview room and at one point my husband, when I asked what he wanted to do that day, said "I could just sit here and look at the view!" The huge jetted tub was very nice and I appreciated all of the little touches like candles, bathrobes and flip-flops, chocolate chip cookies on our first night, and a personalized welcoming letter outlining the lodge's features. I had the signature massage in the spa and it was blissful! The bed was comfortable, the Deserving Thyme toiletries smelled lovely and I can't wait to go back!

We had breakfast there twice, both times really good. The Seagrille's view in the morning is a great way to wake up! The food in the pub was good, too. My husband particularly enjoyed the lamb burger. (The pub is obviously a popular local hangout, so it's loud, so don't go if you're looking for intimate chat, but for a casual meal it was great.)

My positive experience with the lodge actually happened before we got there - we were supposed to go for New Year's but my husband was really sick. Every person I spoke to or e-mailed (especially Bruce at the desk) was so helpful and kind, sending get-well wishes to my husband and making it easy to postpone the trip without having to pay extra fees. I really appreciated their kindness. And when we got there, we found the staff all have the same friendly attitude.

This isn't a place to come without a car - it's quite off the beaten path in a residential area and it's about a half hour drive into Victoria (still easily do-able, though, we went into town both days). And as a place to come for a relaxing weekend, it's first-rate!

On a tip from a fellow we met at Butchart Gardens we dined at the SeaGrill. The Chefs Selection menue seemed delicious sounding and it was. It was a five course meal starting with a cold melon soup, then venison medallions, a cheese and tomato salad and for a main course, Steelhead salmon with cous cous. For desert, red velvet cheescake. The whole meal was phenominal! Service was great and when we informed our server that our child was getting ancy, he sped up the courses to avoid a meltdown. Overall the experience was well worth the visit, glad we went.

Easter Brunch At Brentwood Bay Lodge yesterday was a beautiful experience that would have made the most discriminating of Easter Bunnies proud!
Of course, starting with the view, our table by the window, thoughtfully set up just for two could not have provided a more stunning background for an amazingly relaxing and satisfying, elegant and engaging dining experience...especially for a Spring Sunday morning.
The buffet style brunch was filled with an array of tasty items, from sweet to savory, to satisfy the most fussiest of eaters, which of course is always ME, and... and this is a big AND...they even went so far as to make a special bowl of scrambled eggs sans l'onions just for me...which wins them the highly coveted 5 Star rating. Although it would have been nice to have had a little more Easter love in the form of fun and light hearted conversation from our server, the rest of the experince (and the FOOD!) certainly made up for the lack of residual chit chat.
As we were leaving, a lovely young lady of about 3 foot 1" sauntered up to the buffet and proudly stated, "Daddy I love bacon" which pretty much encapsulated my own dining experience...ah, from the mouths of Babes indeed.
Brentwood Bay Lodge, You've Been PJ'd and have valiently met our crazy high standards for quality of food and service. Please do keep up the great work!!

We live a few blocks from the Lodge and Spa, so we only use its pub. There is also a dining room, which we have not visited.

The food is very good and the decor is tasteful - intimate and welcoming. Portions are large. There is an outdoor patio that has gas heating units to take away the chill in the fall and spring. The view of Brentwood Bay is a plus and contributes to the atmosphere.
