Ok, so I agree with previous reviews, I would have rated the gelato 3 stars before.. but no more!
I was absolutely blown away today by the changes they've made to their gelato recipes. I had tried a taste of the pistachio and creme caramel in the past and thought to try them again.. OMG what a difference... so much more flavour! AWESOME. I chose a scoop of the Kentucky Whiskey, however, as it was even more amazingly yummy.
I hope they continue with generously flavouring their delectable frozen delights. I mentioned how much better they tasted to the clerk more than once so I hope she passes along the praise.
Congratulations, Brazza!! -

My friend and I were figuring out a place to meet in the evening in North Van, and I suggested this place. My friend ordered the tea and I ordered the mocha. The mocha was one of the best that I've had and I'm very particular about my coffee. The mocha wasn't too sweet and the coffee flavor was full bodied enough that it complimented the chocolate.
Definitely worth the trek for delicious coffee with coffee art.Listed in: North Shore Gems!

Not often that I go up to North Van but when I was working in N. Van, I would occasionally walk up Lonsdale Ave to Brazza for a nice cup of latte. Why I like this place? The coffee doesn't taste like it's been over roasted like a certain big chain from the states which has made its way up to Vancouver and literally taken over the city by storm.
I usually go for a regular latte because I find that is enough for me. I add a little bit of sugar for flavour and take my time looking at the artwork the barista has drawn out from the steam milk before I mix it completely.
It's a great place to relax, read a book or for me, use the time to catch up with co-workers you haven't seen in ages! -

Just good for a gelato parlour. It may be that the last gelato I had was in Barcelona at the famous Amorino Italian gelato chain (best gelato ever!), but I wasn't totally impressed with the gelato here. I taste tested two unique flavours: one with pistachio, rose, vanilla and mint-something and the Brazza coffee--both of which I felt were too sweet.
I ended up with the Coffee Crunch in a waffle cone ($5.25), recommended by the staff. Again great for a sweet tooth craving, but nothing out of the ordinary. -

I do not come to North Vancouver often, and it was my first time coming to Brazza on October 8, 2011. I had a mocha and one scoop of heavenly chocolate gelato. The mocha was the best I've ever had - I have been to many different coffee shops in Vancouver. And the price is reasonable. It was worth every penny! For the gelato, it was not overly sweet - just the right amount of sweetness. Again, the price was quite reasonable. I highly recommend this place, even if it means taking the SeaBus or Buses!

Mmm... delicious!
This place is an absolute treat. So many delicious gelatos! So hard to choose! It can be a bit confusing to order since you have to buy your scoops beforehand (1, 2 or 3? cup or cone?) and when it's busy it's a bit of a gong show to get in line to buy around all the people both ordering their flavours and taste testing. But once you know the system and/or it's not very busy the whole process does make sense.
Everyone who works there is really friendly and the gelato peeps have neverending patience when you want to try all the many many flavours. And so far I've never been disappointed.
I've never really tried the coffee or food, so I can't say anything about those, but there are all kinds of awards on the walls for the baristas so I have to think the coffee is excellent as well.
Overall, such a great place to go to on a beautiful summer evening to watch the world pass by on Lonsdale. -

By far the best cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. The coffee outshines all of Brazza's imperfections, like the bad furniture and gelato that's just OK.
I wish they had a place Downtown though! -

I went to Brazza on my first date with my boyfriend for gelato and a good chat. It's a great date location, they have a wide selection of gelato flavours and also many delicious espresso and non-coffee hot and cold beverages on their menu. (No alcohol though, from what I recall). I had just returned from Italy when I went here, and I was spoiled there by the real Italian gelato, so I wasn't expecting too much from Brazza in comparison but they measured up to the Italian gelato I'd eaten in Europe.
They get bonus points for their friendly service and the wide selection of non-dairy sorbets offered, which was great because my boyfriend is severely allergic to dairy products. But he enjoyed this place just as much as I did.Listed in: Best Coffee Houses

SO GOOD! Gelato is a delicious treat, especially when you get to sample flavours before you make the agonizing decision. Quick service, a drool-worthy selection, and situated lovingly on the North Shore - Brazza is a fantastic place to stop for a treat.
Plus, the girl who served me told me she liked my hair and that is always fun.
Brazza is just one of the many reasons I desperately miss living in North Vancouver! -

I don't normally go to gelato joints - I don't have much of a sweet-tooth and to paraphrase my oft-quoted friend: "Gelato joints only exists for guys to close out dates with."
In years past, you could catch an emasculated me being herded around La Casa Gelato and feigning interest in all the 'wacky' flavours. If these joints wanted to impress a dude like me, let's see some gelato flavours like "beef", "cigarettes" and "vodka". So it shouldn't be a surprise that I approach gelato joints like the same enthusiasm as watching "The Notebook".
Anyways, wandered into here as my group couldn't find a cafe open at 8PM on a Saturday night on the North Shore. Serving coffee with gelato is genius idea am I'm surprised so few places do this.
There was quite a bit of seating, however all the comfy sofa chairs were occupied and the hard vinyl chairs weren't very comfortable. I was enticed by the red-chromed espresso machine.
My friends seemed to enjoy their gelato and I was happily sipping my damned decent Americano. Brazza has the same appeal to me as places like Calhoun's - go ahead and enjoy your gelato/coffee as I enjoy my coffee/beer.
Guys of the world unite! No more pretending that you wanted to get gelato. It may not guarantee that you 'close the deal' on your date, but at least you can get some decent coffee. -

OK, I'm just going to go ahead and say it.
I found Brazza Gelato to have BETTER Gelato than La Casa Gelato.
Shock! Dismay! You didn't say!
We headed here with a group of friends and similar to La Casa, you line up and pay and get your tokens before choosing what you'd like. The staff was quick with the samples, and despite a relatively modest selection (well, compared with the 218 flavours of La Casa), I found plenty of options for my tastebuds.
What really won it for me, however, was how deliciously soft the gelato was. Ooooh! Creamy!
Now, some of our party (*cough* the mr. *cough*) prefer their gelato hard (*snicker*) and thus would have rated it lower, but I love me a creamy soft gelato so this hit the mark for me.
So delicious! -

One of the pleasures that life on the Shore affords is sitting in front of Brazza watching the world go by and partaking of the creamy sensual treat that is Brazza's gelato. Since it is a five minute walk from my home, I go to Brazza far too often and usually have more gelato than I should. However, if it kills me; I'll die a happy, happy man.
I really must try to overcome the magnetic pull of the gelato counter and try their coffee some day ... or would that be a surfeit of happiness? -

Not bad, it's not authentic Italian but I've never had that anywhere but Europe.

Absolutely glorious gelato. 52 flavors of some of the richest, creamiest, natural tasting gelato I've ever had. Brazzo has a wide open interior with big Windows that open to the outside. A few small tables on the sidewalk as well. They serve coffee and gelato of course as well as giant delicious looking biscotti, a variety of other pastries, and very reasonably priced deli sandwiches. Did I mention the GELATO!!! Seriously, it is worth the short detour to hop off the 1 as you pass Lonsdale to snack on a frozen cone from Brazzo.

Enjoy the Italian way of life -- and an award-winning cuppa joe -- at Brazza in North Vancouver, where the baristas have won national and international awards for their Italy-roasted coffee creations. And with over 500 flavours of gelato made daily on-site, this little cafe has the largest selection of gelato on the shore! Types of gelato available include dairy, non-dairy, no sugar added, calorie reduced, soy and high anti-oxidants.

This was amazing gelato. I had the "no-sugar-added" Reeses peanut butter and chocolate. It was darn good stuff. I highly recommend for anyone nearby that wants a tasty treat.

The gelato is good, not quite to the Italian standard but, hey, you can't have everything! Thx decor is tragic and the coffee is only 'accrptable' not 'outstanding'.
