I don't know how many times I drove by this place going to and from home.  Finally, last year a friend of mine suggested we try it.  We've been back a few times and each time is excellent.

This is one of my "I need a great meal" reliable choices on the North Shore.  Bonus that it's a five minute walk from my home.

    1/31/2011 1 Check-in Here

Checked in here at 19:30 hrs...ordered the crab cakes and antipasto for 2...linguini carbonara...salmon linguini...creme brûlée.

Now the breakdown of each plate:

Crab cake w/ greens / dressing - apricots salsa. 7/10
The "crab cake" $11.00 was great!

The Antipasto -good price at $11.00 per / eg: more of a Mediterranean style with Mussels / shrimp / scallops / charcuterie
    6/10
Linguini carbonara - good portion / No flavor 3/10 1/2 order size

Salmon linguini - good flavor / good portion. 1/2 order size

Creme Brûlée - time from order to table less than 5 min. It tasted like Jello Pudding w/ caramelized sugar on top.

Over all 3 out of 5...

Been there done that! Not again!

I really want to like this place, I do. I've given them countless chances, sometimes even re-trying the dishes I've had in the past to chalk up my bad experiences here as an "off night". Sadly, Bravo never stepped up to the plate. It is very pricey, all the pasta dishes are essentially pasta and sauce-nothing else. The texture is always way too al-dente, the taste is reminiscent of hamburger helper or kraft mac n cheese.. I honestly don't understand how this place stays popular amongst their regulars, the service here has always been frustrating as the waitstaff just tries to butter you up for tip without actually doing their work. Again, let me reiterate that I really really wanted to like this place but I just couldn't do it. Their salad is okay though, but come on, you can't keep a pasta restaurant open just with pretty good salad.

A standby Italian for us. The Man claims it has the best ever spaghetti and meatballs. Decent price, popular, white tablecloth but not fancy schmancy.
