I must admit i haven't had one in a while but the pizza was fantastic and definitely in my top 3 pizza ever. Wraps were very good too .

I finally made it into the homebase for Bramoso, a lesser known but surprisingly awesome pizza joint in the Canadian Tire strip on Quinpool Road. This was one of the first places that caught my eye once I started yelping and I can't believe it took a year to lure me away from my regular 'za zones.
Expecting your average pizza take-out spot, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Bramoso fills the gap between gourmet thin crust suppliers like Morris East, and the quick and casual pizza joints that we all love so much. You can just as easily dine in with friends amidst the wonderful tomato saucy smells, or you can take a gourmet pie home to eat in your sweatpants. Seeing as how I love both of those options, I gotta give Bramoso some props for letting me have my cake and eat it too.
My visit was only for a quick slice at lunch so I went with one of the premade options in the display case. First of all, I was very happy to see a veggie option already made. Most places just offer pepperoni, the works, and meat-lovers, leaving the vegetarians to have to order freshly made meals instead of just grabbing a quickie. Second, it wasn't just your average veggie pizza - it was a lovely Bianca-style pie with artichokes, spinach and feta. It probably doesn't compare to one of their pizzas straight out of the oven, but it was fantastic for a fast feast. It was also super cheap at under $6 including taxes for a slice and a can of pop.
The staff working were a-okay but definitely more suited for a take-out joint. This is where you'll see the difference between a gourmet eat-in spot and Bramoso. No warm and fuzzies, but they'll get you fed. And isn't that what really matters? -

I love this place for pizza.
The first time I went I was with a group of 10 people. We all showed up, unannounced, and were greeted quite warmly. The waiter at the time was quick to serve us all water and get our orders ready. I had the garlic fingers with whole wheat crust (as recommended by a friend), and they were awesome. I'm a huge fan of thin crust and they did it well.
The second time I went was between two apartment viewings. My friend and I were time crunched and starving. We let the waiter know, and he whipped things up quickly. Pizza was delicious (I had a chicken pizza). I also asked for some additional sauce for dipping my crust, and they handed it over with no problem - and didn't charge me either. I think little things (such as dipping sauce) really tell how a restaurant is run. I hate restaurants who charge you for every minor change - here, they were just happy to please me. Good job!
I love their unique toppings, and I think the price is pretty fair. The service has also always been top notch. -

I love pizza. Like deeply, adoringly, wholeheartedly love it. Not even my lactose-intolerance can keep me away from it. Sometimes I can get down with a classic 3-cheese, but what I really go for is pizza with lots of stuff on it. The more plentiful the toppings, the better. And if those toppings happen to include things like grilled chicken, artichokes, pesto or goat cheese... well... swoon.
Fortunately for me, the world has invented lactase pills, and even luckier for me, Bramoso's offers pizzas that include all of my most beloved toppings and many, many more. It's also worth noting that Bromoso's offers a gluten-free pizza crust so all the wheat-adverse foodies of Halifax can still enjoy a great slice. Although you have the option of eating in the restaurant, I'd recommend the take-and-bake approach, in which you get a fully dressed but uncooked pizza. (I usually pick it up myself, but they'll also deliver for a small fee.) Once you're home you just pop in the oven, wait 20 minutes, put on your pizza-eating pants, and enjoy. My fave picks are the Mediterranean and the Smoked Chicken Fontina, but if you're more of a purist, they also serve up a scrumptious Gourmet Cheese.
*Bonus recommendation - the NSLC is in the same building, so swing by on your way home and pick up a nice bottle of vino to enjoy with that pizza! -

My first Bramoso experience was a product of my Moksha Yoga cleanse experience. Eight days into eating no gluten, no animal products, no refined sugar, and so on, we were craving something somewhat normal, and one of the group mentioned Bramoso could probably accommodate the cleanse requirements.
Having seen the sign dozens of times on Quinpool, I took a look at the menu and the options were impressive, so I called to order. It turns out there must be some minor defect to the strict cleanse rules, but I decided not to worry that much. Besides by the time I learned that it was a little late - I suspect it has something to do with sugar in tomato sauce.
For people who need a gluten-free option, Bramoso makes an assortment off-site and has them ready to go as take-and-bake, or they'll bake them there for you in the wood oven (on parchment to help prevent cross-contamination!). If you want something specific, you might have to order a day in advance like I did, but knowing that makes it no inconvenience. In fact, being able to order a few days in advance is kind of neat, would almost allow you to set up a standing order!
And the pizza. Wow. Excellent. Fresh, generous portions, and once I'm on a little less restrictive set of requirements I'm going to check out a lot more of their options. They have a wide variety of suggested combinations and great toppings, all locally sourced where possible. They had some options that are a little more gourmet than you'd expect - cremini mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and so on.
Oh, and not to overlook, the service was friendly, even though they didn't have the pizza baked when I asked for they got it done right away. The woman manning the counter was so pleasant I barely noticed the inconvenience!
I think I have a new favourite pizza joint in town. -

I've frequented Bramonso Gourmet a number of times, and my experiences remain consistent. This teeny pizzeria is tucked away amongst Quinpool's assortment of shops, and is often a low-key spot to grab a gourmet bite.
Often times, I've noticed a lack in crowd. Whether my timing is off from other Bramonso fans or not, I enjoy the quiet solitaire this place has to offer. Its interior is crispy clean, but modest. Dimly lit and not a large amount of space, Bramoso can seat the minimum of crowds.
The rich smells of pizza delights are apparent upon entry, and the menu doesn't make it easy. There are LOTS of pizza option for pondering, as well as a gourmet take on salads, wraps, and desserts. (The Apple Tart is delish!) Bramonso is also licensed, and a nice spot for a drink chill.
I'd recommend this spot for a branching out from the regular old thang, as the pizza and craftsmanship are sure bets. Its also a nice spot to relax and have a private conversation or escape solo.Listed in: Flying Solo, Best Veggie Pizzas

Last night, we decided to order in pizza and to do so from a new place. Of course, we started flipping through the Yelp reviews and of these, Bramoso stood out among the rest.
After exploring their website, we decided on the Rustica and the McAngelo, with the substitution of genoa salami for Italian sausage. The kids got a plain pepperoni and cheese.
We were thrilled with the service. The pizzas arrived within 40 minutes, piping hot and ready to serve. The McAngelo became our favourite, with even the oldest daughter changing her preference to this lovely spinach, tomato, basil and fontini cheese covered crust.
The only downside is that this turned out to be a bit more expensive than the usual pizzeria prices. However, we had plenty of leftovers for breakfast, so no real complaints.
We will definitely be ordering from Bramoso over and over. -

Their pizza is awesome. You defiantly need to try one of their great specialty pizza's or if you're feeling a little more like a classic, their turkey club pizza was awesome. It made me wish I had ordered more than just one of them. Also, their take and bake pizza's are a stroke of brilliance! perfect for picking up and having on hand in case you get a craving for something other than a boxed pizza from the frozen isle at the grocery store.

For some reason I've always had a soft spot for Bramoso. There may be better pizza joints in the city, but this one has always been my favorite.
I think it might have something to do with the Chicken Club pizza
Bramoso has a great brick oven and you can watch the staff make and bake your pizza. For some reason I find this reassuring. For a place that only sells pizza, there is a lot of variety on the menu and you're certain to find a pie that you love. They also (and somewhat randomly) sell giant chocolate chip cookies to bake at home. These cookies are actually pretty good.
You can also purchase prepared pizzas to bake at home. This is a nice and somewhat less expensive option, but I've never taken advantage of it.
There is a small amount of seating for those who feel like dining in and beer, which surprised me for some reason.
Bramoso is a little pricey, but certainly worth a visit from pizza connoisseurs in our fair city. -
Review from Lacey H.
Bramoso's "Take & Bake" concept is a pretty good one. If you want the convenience of take out, but you won't be consuming posthaste, you can buy a pizza and bake it at home when you're good and ready to nosh. Although part of the appeal of their pizzas is that the pies are cooked in a pizza oven, it nonetheless is a convenient service for people on the go.
I've eaten take out from this joint on a few occasions. They have lots of options, not to mention tasty gourmet toppings, yet somehow I'm always left a little desirous, as if the void hasn't been completely filled.
I think it's the dough. It has a strange aftertaste - slightly bleachy if you ask me, but that hasn't stopped me from having some of their signature pies: the Mediterranean, the Roman Pesto, and the delightfully fresh Greek.
The prices can be a little high, especially if you get excited and throw some extra ingredients in the mix. Their service is friendly and quick, and they're centrally located, especially if the Quinpool strip is your stomping ground.
I recommend sussing out this pizza place and giving their pies a whirl. -

I'm surprised that this place isn't packed every time I go in to order a slice. This is in my opinion the best pizza shop in town for a number of reasons. First, the pizza is moderately healthy, packed with vegetables, not dripping with grease, and made with fresh ingredients as you watch. Next, the pizza, while it can be ordered with a number of tasty yet unconventional ingredient combinations (like the chicken club pizza with garlic sauce) still feels like you are eating a hearty and traditional slice.
In relation to the other pizza places in town, there is very little comparison in terms of food quality. This food can be enjoyed (unlike a lot of pizza slices) even when (and especially when) you are sober. As can be expected, the slices and pies are more pricey than you will pay elsewhere, but not by much. If you are willing to pay for the best, look no further, this is it.
Hot Hint: All the pizza's are available to order in "Take and Bake" form, which means that they are prepared fresh and delivered ready to pop in the oven and enjoy. (They freeze well in this form too!) Have room for dessert? Try a giant (pizza sized) chocolate chip cookie, also available as a "Take and Bake" treat. -

Bramoso serves a great pizza. They have a large selection of specialty pizza's. We love the fact it is made in a brick oven and also you can get the pizza's to take home and cook yourselves if you wish.
You can go to their website and order on line now. They do catering as well. It is a little pricey, but you are getting a great pizza. -

My sole experience with Bramoso Gourmet Pizzeria is that my roommate works there and occasionally brings home yummy treats. Cold and next day, this pizza still punches above its weight in comparison with others around Halifax.
