Review from Matthew C.
Welland, ON
I've been here a handful of times over the past few years and for the most part enjoyed myself.
Just a few notes in point form
- The crew at the front desk aren't always the most friendly or attentive. The food staff seems to be much better, but I can't speak for the food because I have just bought drinks.
- A few weeks ago I showed up later on a Saturday night, knowing that in the past they had 'all you can bowl' until well past midnight. When I got there, there was no 'all you can bowl ' and they closed at 11pm. I almost convinced myself that I was making it up until I saw the big banner across the lanes. It may not be a bad idea to call ahead.
- A couple of years ago a ball wound up stuck in the gutter. It simply somehow didn't go all of the way to the end of the lane. I know this defies physics, and I'm not sure -how- we did it, but we did it. We told the front desk about this and they said to just bowl a ball down there to knock it to the end. I went back to the lane and did this, when another employee came over and started reprimanding us for doing that, so we left immediately.
Although these things may not seem that positive, fact is it's like fast food/ You know when you're hungry, and you go to a McDonalds and scarf down a Big Mac? It's not the greatest food in the world, but you're hungry, you visit, and then you're not hungry anymore.
It's the same thing with this place. You're bored, you go, you aren't bored for a while, then you leave. In that respect it's a perfectly acceptable business that I will continue to go to once in a blue moon. It's a fun way to kill time and although the inside of the building isn't the best, it's a bowling alley, so it's not like I expect to eat off of the floor.
This place is definitely an a-ok way to spend an evening and although I haven't always had the best experiences, they weren't so bad that I would discourage anyone from going.
