Last time i was here..i wasnt too pleased with the dessert i got...but this time..i came a bit early and was able to score their infamous macarons....woot woot!

I bought two large ones, one pistachio and one vanilla....and omg..it was so soft and just right...and i like how the center layer is filled with creme of the flavor instead of the usual thing that they put in the middle. It is definitely different from all the macaron places that i have been to.

Now i know what everyone is talking about!!

    Two words.

    NUTTER BUTTER*

    Get it. Eat it.

    You're welcome. :)

*If I wasn't watching my weight, I would be here everyday during my lunch break. And yes, I would happily eat several nutter butters.

Recently, I've begun to have a liking for macarons. My next adventure took me to Bouchon Bakery. The macarons are airy yet crisp like a cookie, with a rich and soft butter cream inside.

The coffee macaron has a subtle yet noticeable coffee flavor. Delicious without being too sweet. I could have easily had another one of these. These little confections are addicting. Uh oh, I think I'm developing a sweet tooth.

Located on the 3rd Floor of the very shiny Time Warner Center, you'll find Bouchon Bakery.  It's worth the climb.  OK, in reality if riding two escalators is considered a climb for you, you probably should steer clear of Bouchon.

The presentation is sparkling.  Every single treat is meticulously wrapped or presented in a pristine case.  Visually, there are very few imperfections.  That seems to be a constant where the Bouchon branches are concerned.

Personal favorites from behind the glass include: the Bouchon, the Ho-ho and the chocolate chip cookie.

The Bouchon, is a chocolate chip brownie reduced to the size of a golf ball.  It might be two bites, if you can control yourself.   Two bites of dense, delicious, slightly cakey brownie with a dispersed bites of chocolate chips for flavor and texture.

The Ho ho is exactly what you think it is.  Light as a feather cake, rolled log-style around fluffy, velvety cream and covered with a shell of dark chocolate.  When you're eating you need to tell yourself, "Whoa, Slow down, take your time.  You're gonna be so sad when this is gone".  Let's put it this way, it's better than you remember.  And now that the mass produced kind is all pumped with chemicals, this real deal takes the proverbial cake.

The Chocolate Chip Cookie is packed, and I mean packed with chocolate chips.  I mean it is equal parts chocolate chip and cookie and 100% wonderful.

Also, consider the Hot Chocolate.  It ranks among some of the finer specimens I have yet to try.

I haven't had much contact with the staff since I fall into a Chocolate trance upon seeing the glass case.  I know one of them told me about the Bouchon and I either said "Thank you" or "I love you".  Either way, I didn't care.

On the third floor of the Time Warner Center, you will find Bouchon Bakery and Cafe.

The Bakery offers Sandwiches, Entrees (ie. Mac & Cheese, Hash Du Jour), Soups, Salads, Pastries, Cookies, and Breakfast Items. Simply place your order at the counter and the kind employees will wrap your goodies quickly and neatly. There is quite a bit of seating around the Bakery. Napkins and plastic silverware are within reach.

The Bouchon Cafe is right beside the Bakery and offers table service. The Cafe serves Wine, Salads, Sandwiches, Sides, Entrees (ie. Marinated Hanger Steak, Quiche du Jour), and Desserts.

We decided to dine at the Cafe. The hostess was kind and quick to find us a seat. Our server was nice but not as attentive as we would have liked. We arrived early and there weren't many customers at the restaurant as yet. It's very relaxed in here and the view of Columbus Circle is beautiful.

Complimentary bread and butter is provided. The baguette was toasty on the outside and chewy in the middle. The homemade butter w/ sea salt just melts in your mouth. I love that a large glass water jug is brought to the table. Perfect for people who drink a lot of water.

I was able to try the Salmon & Orzo, Croque Madame, and Chocolate Soufflé. The Salmon & Orzo was a delicate yet completely satisfying dish. The Orzo was cooked perfectly. The piquillo peppers, spinach and niçoise olives were fresh. They added a lovely color contrast to the dish, as well as enhanced the flavor of the orzo pasta. The Salmon had a nice sear on the outside and was flaky and smooth within. The dish was seasoned perfectly.

The Croque Madame comes with a side salad. In between two slices of warm and toasty brioche lies thin slices of French ham and Gruyère cheese. It's then topped off with a sunny side up egg and sauce mornay. The hearty bread, slightly salty ham, smooth cheese and egg, topped off with a light yet creamy sauce was perfection on a plate.

The Chocolate Soufflé was a lovely way to end the meal. It was fluffy, warm, and slightly sweet. The slightly cool and creamy Crème Anglaise went well with the warm Soufflé.

Note: If you like chocolate chip cookies, try their Chocolate Chunk Cookie from the Bakery. Plenty of warm chocolate chips throughout and it's super fresh!

Located in a beautiful, upscale mall of sorts on the third floor.

The staff were friendly and polite.

The macarons and mini-macarons (I tried the raspberry and vanilla) were delicious and slightly chewy.

Probably not a very fair review since I could only have a cup of coffee but hey you be the judge...

I have passed by this place so many times and finally one Saturday afternoon, I found myself needing something to drink.

I looked at all the dessert offerings and cursed myself for being VEGAN.  I asked the counter help if they had any VEGAN options and all I got back was a bewildered stare. "Uh, VEGAN, uh I don't know." I don't think she even knew what the word meant. Funny conversation exchange!

I did get a soy latte and it was decent. The soy milk was heated to perfection and the coffee fresh. No complaints here.

Oh well, I should've known better that a place like Bouchon would never in a million years carry any VEGAN desserts. LOL.

We were strolling in the Columbus circle mall when we spotted Bouchon and decided to dine there. The place opens for lunch at 11:30am on Saturday. Within 10-15 minutes of opening, all the tables were full.

We have dined at Bouchon before in Las Vegas and our experience there was much better. Though the bakery cafe is located in a very upscale mall and has great views, the menu is a little disappointing.

We ordered the Grilled cheese sandwich with soup. The Sandwich was amazing. The bread was the lightest I have ever tasted. Unfortunately the Gruyere cheese had not melted properly and was hanging between two pieces of bread half done. The tomato soup was extremely tangy and not at all exciting.

The Quiche was well baked and tasty. We also tried the poached eggs on potatoes which was good. The service was very slow, and it took us more than 30 minutes for our main dishes to arrive. Apparently they had a computer glitch.

The pastries are delicious as usual and will highly recommend them. I just wish the menu was a bit more varied at this location. There are not very many vegetarian options.

The Las Vegas location has a full fledged restaurant with some amazing food!

Lots of people in line, too few tables, but the food was good.  Here it is:
Grilled cheese, probably the best tasting I've ever had, bread was done perfectly and plenty of gooey delish cheese - 5
Tomato soup, a little too acidic for my taste - 3
Split pea soup, creamy and good flavor, but not great - 3.5
Caramel macaron, really savory with a whisp of sweet - 4.5
TK cookie (I think, it's basically a dark chocolate oreo of sorts) - 3
Fugheddaboutit, a chocolate salted caramel thing of wonder - 5, definitely
Overall - a solid 4, next time I'll know what to order.

Stopped by this place for a few minutes during my NYC visit and all I got to try was the pistachio macaroon, but it so blew me away that I felt compelled to write a review. So delicious, I'm craving another one and wish I had bought 10 more to bring back to Cambridge.
Can't wait to go back and try more of their pastries. Based on the other reviews, maybe not so much the food. (Even Thomas Keller can't be good at EVERYTHING, right? Though the pistachio macaroon makes me want to try The French Laundry even more.)

I rave about their macarons, even going to their west coast location in Yountville(not the same...sadly) and every NYC trip I take, this is my first place to go and order 6 for the week and than another 6 at the end of my trip to take home with. I personally can't compare their macarons to anywhere else, so my review could be bias. But I will be stubborn and say, this will be my first and last place to ever have macrons with the Bouchon company.

Super friendly service, pretty attentive when I come, and handles the macarons quite gently and awesome packaging. I am a sucker for packaging, the cute box and the signature sticker adds a nice touch. I spent the whole day walking as this box of delicate macarons and came home with almost no damage to my cookies. Very happy for that!

Be aware, it is close to $22 for only 6, I did see they have miniature versions of macrons, but c'mon I think a macaron can only be enjoyed bigger than an 1 inch diameter.

Vanilla, Caramel, Pistachio, Coffee, Blueberry Cheesecake (seasonal), and Strawberry! I love the Vanilla if you can't choose, but IF you do see the blueberry cheesecake, that one is incredibly a creamy, tart blueberry, light treat in your mouth.

This is a review of the place just for the food...if you're looking for somewhere to go for a work lunch or a nice, lighter weekend breakfast, I would advise against this place just because of the price and the limited selection. The food I've had from here (the salmon sandwich for breakfast once, and the turkey baguette sandwich for lunch once) was all fine, but overpriced for the portions. You would be coming here more for the "experience".

The pastries, though, are a different story, and are generally pretty good. So come drop by for a cookie and a drink perhaps, but not for an actual meal.

I was supposed to give this place 4 stars but I'll get to that later. One of the places I frequented for breakfast while visiting New York since it was near my hotel.  Tried the following:

Smoked Salmon Croissant - delicious, tasty not salty as smoked salmon can be sometimes.
Chocolate croissant - light no chocolate overkill.
Coconut Mango pudding - very good, quite refreshing.
regular coffee - good, strong enough to perk you up.

Sorry but I'm not doing reviews for french macaroons as I'm little sick of it already since every bakery has them. :)

Now for why the 3 stars.  I had to remove a star because their cappuccino was not very good.  I'm a stickler for good cappuccino's and I hate to say it but I've had better at a Starbucks.  The Cappuccino was not strong, couldn't even taste coffee, mostly milk.  And this just ruined it for me.  I guess I'm being harsh but what the heck!  I would still go back but just for regular coffee.

I did not intend to come here to eat, but I was glad to come here on "accident." (: I really enjoyed the bread served, and it tasted as though it had been pre-buttered, yum. I ordered the Hash du Jour -- which is poached hen eggs on potatoes with seasoning -- so good! I will have to say that was one of my best meals in NYC, even including my dinner meal at Adour.

I cannot comment on their macarons or other desserts, as I did not have any. Unfortunately, they use almond flour in their macaron, so that eliminates any possibility for me. ):

The prices were also really good. Service was good, not the best. Understandably, the servers take care of multiple tables, so be sure to be assertive if you need something. I definitely need to try the West Coast locations now! (:

I'd only recommend their macaroons, they are huge and Americanized!! Nonetheless, they taste wonderful.. But everything else is sort of a disappointment, the plates are super small though the price is not humble at all,  you will leave hungry, period. Also, it's an open dining area in the mall, so if you are looking for something warm and cozy in a raining day, don't try this...

Came for strictly sweets to satisfy my sweet tooth.

TKO- HATED IT. The cookie was bitter and the cream just tasted outright weird... I really wanted to love this, but... it was not something that I could ever eat again.

Vanilla Macaron- My favorite one. It wasn't overly sweet, and it's super sized satisfied my sweet tooth.

Caramel Macaron- Meh. Unless sticky sweetness was what you wanted, then this would not be the dessert for you.

Coffee Macaron- Sweet, but I could barely taste the coffee over the burnt sugar taste. Maybe it was just me, because everyone else loved it.

I want to love Bouchon Bakery because it's so close to Rock Center where I work and the place is so cute...but...I'm not a huge fan of their macarons (I swear I can hear gasps of horror right now through the screen). The macarons are just too sweet to the point where I can't enjoy them as much as I do Laduree's. The bouchon macarons also feel more heavy to me, whereas Laduree has lighter cream and more airy macaron cookie. I tried the grilled cheese and tomato soup sandwich today, and while it was good because it wasn't dripping in butter, it was just a standard thick-toast grilled cheese sandwich. We'll see if I revise this with more sampling of their lunch menu...

I loved that there was a Bouchon in NYC when I moved here (I'm a fan of the Vegas one). I used to come all the time, but then realized that there are other bakeries out there that are on par with the quality of Bouchon.

Thomas Keller has some pretty awesome recipes, though, which I haven't found replicated anywhere else, like the Nutter Butter (which is HUGE, btw). TKO is also delish, though I've found the espresso drinks to be lacking in deliciousness.

Stuff here is pricey, but the quality is worth it. It's also a lovely view, and if you can snag one of the high top tables, you're in business. You can also mosey on over to Per Se, and do as I do and stare longingly at those eponymous double doors and drool in anticipation of the day you'll meet someone rich enough to take you to dinner there, or you can simply take in the gorgeous view of the atrium from above.

I've never tried the actual sit-down place, but for a lovely afternoon snack, I'd recommend this bakery if you're in the area.

I used to be a regular here but  lately the food is disappointing.
The soups are vary tasty, and so some of the sandwiches. The deserts are nothing to remember. Last time I was there it was late afternoon and there were only a few options to choose from.
I got a salad with chicken and lettuce and the taste and quality were subpar.
The chicken had a weird smell like it was sitting in the fridge for too long, and the dressing that came on the side in a tiny cup was blunt.
Since this is a pricey bakery and carries a renowned chefs reputation I am expecting more. I want everything to be delicious and fresh. Why is it so hard for many food places to get this basic principal? Fresh ingredients make for great food.
Bouchon is resting on its reputation and has stopped making great food.
If you choose to go, get the grilled cheese, the squash soup, amazing, tomato soup, tuna salad sandwich.
I also wish they changed their menu more often.

At first I had trouble finding this place - it's across the street from Rockefeller Plaza on the south side. (across from the ice skating rink)

I came here specifically to get the macarons. I had a large macaron of their newest flavor, coffee, and also ordered a small caramel and pistachio. They were amazing - some of the best macarons I've ever had.  I especially liked the big coffee macaron.

That's what I came here for and they delivered - recommend the macarons!

    I made Yelp Elite!

And, to celebrate, I decided to come here and eat my way through the bakery, one pastry at a time. It was delicious and my jeans haven't fit since. I started with the caramel macaroon, followed that up with a hazelnut macaroon, followed those five bites of perfection up with a Bouchon (I think that's what it's called- It's basically a brownie with a fancy name slapped on it) and then concluded the 5 million calorie fest with a ginormous chocolate chip cookie the size of my face. Omnomnomnomnomnom.

It is important to note that when reviewing sweets, I can be a bit persnickety. I can complain about just about anything. It's a gift, really. Either the chocolate chips are too big or too small or the macaroon isn't Laduree enough or it's too salty or I had to wait in line for too long or etc etc etc etc etc. Meaning, when I tell you that this place is worth a visit, it's worth a visit. Hell, it's worth being fat for. I plan on going back as soon as my clothes fit again.

This place is so cute, even though it's located in an open area of a shopping center.  Perhaps, the desserts are what makes them so cute to me. The macaron glace was displayed so simple, yet cute. It was just too pretty to eat.

EEk! Me-thinks not.  We came here to experience the quiche lorraine which was highlighted on "Best thing I ever ate".

Off the bat, great location in the Time Warner Center over looking Columbus Circle, very chic little lunch place.  Upon looking at the menu, we were thoroughly disappointed to see the quiche lorraine was not present.  Instead we order the quiche florentine and the tuna salad.   Both were average to below average, coming with a side salad that wasn't dressed with anything but salt.  Maybe I don't have the classy palette it takes to appreciate a dressingless salt salad, but to me it was a disappointment coming form a restaurant owned by Thomas Keller.

The real shock came with the bill as the two dishes came to over $40 dollars, without tip. Not a place I would ever recommend or go back to.

Really wanted to give a 5 star review however my Turkey Rachel sandwich was nice but not worthy of a 5 stars and the side salad with it could have been better.

First of all, if you go to Bouchon bakery and sit in the restaurant, you have to have the Chocolate Souffle for dessert (yes I know I am working backwards but its so good review rules go out the window). Best Souffle I have ever had and the best dessert I have ever eaten.

The Mrs and I had two bowls of Cauliflower soup which was really good. I think it had parsnip in it as well and dressed with truffle oil. Pretty much the best Cauliflower soup you can get. The Turkey Rachel was good but not on the level as the Souffle and the soup.

Really a four and half star review due to how affordable it was and how good the food is. Service was excellent and I will go back the next time I am in New York.

    Thomas Keller, swoon! :)

Macarons are good, not great. The plus is that they are HUGE, but sadly I've had all of their flavors (not many to choose from) and they all tasted rather similar. My go to is Laduree but at $3 a pop and twice the size of other macarons, these are great!

TKOs (Thomas Keller Oreos) are a-mazing and I detest oreos. These are not as nearly as sweet as oreos and are, like the macarons, enormous! It may take a bit getting used to if you're expecting an oreo.

Speedy service and nice ambience considering it's basically on the mezzanine lobby level of the Time Warner building. Now if only I had the money to go up another level and frequent Per Se.

    Awesome macarons and sandwiches!

I love the location, in the Time Warner Center, because the place itself is a mall, and you can browse if your party is late.

Came here for late lunch on a Sunday, and I got the special (Croque Madame) and friend got the tuna sandwich. The runny egg on the Croque Madame was awesome, and the tuna sandwich (and I don't like tuna) was great as well. The side salad was refreshing, too!

Afterwards, we headed a few steps over to the bakery and got the macarons. Bigger than your typical macaron and chewier! Just my type. I tried the Vanilla, Hazelnut, and Passion Fruit (no Pistachio...). Out of the three, the Vanilla was the winner. $3/macaron, but the size was big!

Definitely can't wait to be back.

Tucked away in the Time Warner Center, we didn't have time for a sit-down meal and stopped by the display case for some macarons. By golly they were the biggest I've ever laid my eyes upon. As a macaron enthusiast, this girl was getting giddy. We ordered two of each with a beverage to go. These dainty, yet monstrous sweets left me in a dessert worthy trance. The passionfruit was my absolute favorite!

It would've been nice if they had a board that listed their beverage offerings (maybe I just didn't notice it) but I felt as if we had to infer from the items behind the counter.

3.5 stars. I haven't eaten in the dining area so this review is for the counter bakery. The lines may look daunting at times, particularly during the holidays when the mall is packed and around the 4 pm mark when people want a little pick-me-up. But the fantastic staff at Bouchon know how to speed things along while smiling. The coffee is way better than Starbucks (aka doesn't taste burnt) but its no Illy or Netezza coffee - (fact: I can be a coffee snob).

People always talk about how amazing macarons are at this bakery but I'd have to disagree. They're huge and there are a variety of flavors but they're way too sweet. Go to La Maison du Chocolat for amazing ones. The TKO - which is a giant oreo cookie - is also too sweet. What I do recommend are the madelines, the small chocolate bouchons, the chocolate tart, croissants and the giant chocolate cookie - particularly the cookie. Also, they have nice assortments of boxes of chocolate if you ever need to gift anyone and Godiva is overplayed.

As you can expect from a bakery owned by the Per Se restauranteur, the prices are all a bit overpriced but if you want some decadent treats and a decent cup of coffee, definitely swing by.

Mmmmm. Had brunch here on a Sunday during my recent NYC trip. My friend, who's idol is Thomas Keller, chose Bouchon Bakery for our Brunch meet up. This place is very casual, right in the middle of the mall. Service was average, but food was great. I tried the Quiche Lorraine, leek soup, and Salad Lyonnaise. When I ordered the Salad Lyonnaise I had no clue what I was ordering, but when I saw that it was the only option that had egg, I opted for it anyways (egg is my favorite and a must for breakfast!). When the salad came, I didn't really know what I was looking at, but I loved the dish. DELICIOUS. Overall, very good food, and I'm glad I got to stop by and try it out.

I didn't eat anything savory here, just grabbed a few things from the bakery.  I have a HUGE sweet tooth, so I'm always looking out for bakeries and dessert shops.  That being said, this place sucked.

TK Cookie: looks like a giant delicious oreo, tastes like burnt grossness  & that creme filling lacks flavor & has a weird texture - 0 stars.
Fuggedaboutit: Just okay.  Nothing awful, but definitely not good. - 2 stars
    Madeline: Also mediocre.
Caramel Macaron: Slightly too sweet, but maybe the best of the bunch... which meant I wanted to take more than 1 bite - 2.5 stars
Hoho: About as good as Little Debbie's. - 2.5

Not delicious + overpriced = I will never be back.

I came here around 2pm and was expecting a wait for seats in the waitered section.  However, they noted it would only be a 15 min wait and even though my friend wasn't there, once there was an empty table, they let me sit down.
I am a big fan of their grilled cheese and tomato soup (even though yes it is overpriced) but since this time I was there for more of a tea/coffee break so I refrained.
I had some tea and a cookie.  $12.
I must say that cookie was darn good.. the "nutter butter" which was basically two peanut butter cookies with peanut butter inside of it served with creamy vanilla ice cream.

Larger than bite sized spiritual experiences. I have not had the food but the pastries are incredible. If you think it looks good, get it because it's even better than it looks. These creations are the absolute best-you-ever had of classics like the nutter butter, oreo, and ho-ho.

Get the macarons! They are the size of your palm - the largest I've ever seen - and quite delicious! Definitely more satisfying than the usual La-Duree-sized macarons. I've had the passion fruit and pistachio before, and it was great! The other pastries look wonderful as well, so I'd definitely come back to try them out.

This is a lovely place to wow someone visiting town with its gorgeous view of Columbus Circle and its location in the Time Warner Center.
