As an avid pet-lover and owner of two dogs Bosley's is my place to go. The staff are amazing and the current manager is one of the most helpful I've had the pleasure to come across. I believe her name started with a K. My elderly dog was having some skin and ear issues and trouble with incontinence. She was very inquisitive about what food I was currently feeding, exercise, treats etc. I was informed that chicken is one of the more common allergens in dogs and she suggested we try a food switch. Well, let me tell ya I changed his food to a venison based one and within 2-3 days i saw a HUGE improvement. Less accidents and his coat was clearing up! It's now been 3 weeks. No more accidents in my home and Chester's coat is less patchy. Also, he loves his food. I would recommend this Bosley's to anyone! Best service I have encountered in the west end.

I know if you're a fan of Bosley's, you're likely a die-hard fan. I don't really have anything bad to say about them but I just don't feel like they are my type of store.
If you love pets and you have special needs when it comes to your pet's supplies, Bosley is a great place to go. They have lots of specialty products and a great selection. More for dogs than cats but it's still a decent selection. You can get anything from litter, bedding to toys, treats; even raw or frozen food.
The staff is very helpful as well. They'll help you get heavy items off shelves and carry it to the front checkout. (I've never asked but I'm sure they will help you to your car as well)
I personally find everything in Bosley too niche and pricey. I'm not a vegan. My pet won't be vegan. No organics. No dietary concerns... just a plain 'ol cat. Nothing fancy about my pet. So I give it a 3.
Again, having said that, if your pet has any special dietary needs or requires hard to find items such as a extra large litter box or extra gentle shampoo, Bosley is likely your place to be and can easy get a 4 in my books. -

I stopped in here yesterday to get some poo bags, that's right bags for pickin' up shit! Good thing I have a small dog, so it's only a one hand job cuz that warm squishy stinkyness is not my favourite part of being a dog-owner, but its is the responsibility of one.
I remembered I also needed to get the little guy a new tag with our new address on it. He's never gone missing (and hopefully never will, but if he did we could probably just follow the smell of his farts - they are THAT rank) to find him. For $10 it's worth the price of a new tag with our new address, because you can never be too cautious when it comes to your loved ones. The girl at Bosley's who was helping us got us to write down our info and checked how we wanted it displayed on the tag, she even engraved it twice just to make sure it wouldn't get worn down over time, and actually attached the tag to his collar for us (while he was still wearing it) and if you know my hyperactive little monster, you know that is no easy feat, especially when he is staring at the wall of squeaky toys behind you.
I think Bosley's will become our new go-to place for our dog and kitty food, since the staff are always so nice. They usually have little treats for the dogs tucked behind the counter, so Bruno knows to sit nicely when its time to pay. Bosley's also has two rescue kitties in crates in the store, which probably helps people adopt them because they can come right into the store and see them. As a pet owner, I gotta say it's pretty tempting seeing the cute little fuzzballs sitting there.Listed in: Best of the best

I love the staff here because they are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I don't think I've been into any store ever where the people love their work so much! This shop and the people are a huge asset to the community. In fact my vet recommended this place. My household has a Jack Russell who enjoys the attention he gets from the staff, not to mention that the staff were wonderful in helping me find suitable food for one of my cats who had cystitis. The selection of pet goods is very very comprehensive, and in the rare instance something is out of stock the staff don't mind to call nearby stores to check on their stock, or they do special orders.

As the owner of a cat twice the size of most of the dogs in the West End, Bosley's is a great store where I can actually get real pet supplies and not just the latest fashion accessories for tiny, tiny dogs.
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to help out. They have a wide variety of selection for food, toys and yes even some fashion items for your furry friends.
Recently they have introduced a pet adoption program in-store and have a couple of unlucky kitties (I haven't seen any dogs yet) looking for good homes, which is a nice touch.
The food membership program is a nice bonus however it's a little bit annoying that you have to buy the exact same type, and size of bag of food each time in order to qualify. -

This is probably the most comprehensive pet supply store in the West End / Coal Harbour area. The store carries a good selection of dry food, raw food, toys, beds, accessories, dietary supplements as well as over-the-counter preventative medicine.
The company's free membership programme tracks your regular food purchase and you get your every 11th food purchase free. Their dry food prices are very competitive but the raw food items are significant more expensive than True Carnivores in Kitsilano and Van Pet in Yaletown.
The staff members are friendly and helpful. They love 4-legged visitors. -

I could tell you that I like this Bosley's because of its good supply of quality pet food and my lactose intolerant cat or my 100 Mile Diet dog. It's easy to make jokes when you see a "dog" in a matching camoflage jacket and boots. More important is the staff who are consistently well chosen, friendly, intelligent, knowledgeable, offbeat and obviously love animals. I also like one woman's resolutely ironic, giant 80s eyeglasses. I am glad they often have a cat or two from the SPCA available for adoption.
But as for what they actually sell, a few products stand out for me, like
Wellness canned food for dogs and cats. You could put it on a cracker and serve it with wine at a party because it doesn't look or smell like pet food- it is human grade so no ears or tails in there. In addition this store has fresh catnip sold by the scoop but put it in a high cupboard or you may find the lonely, shredded, drooled on, empty paper bag one morning. When your cat comes down from the nip, get him or her revved again with Purebites freeze dried chicken or liver or fish dog and cat treats. The staff were right that this stuff turns pets into furry addicts. They become circus animals, jumping, singing and making circles near your feet when they hear the bag being taken out of the cupboard. I have found that they love it so much that they come over just to check if what you reached for was freeze dried chicken bits and not a bag of dried apricots.
