Review from Laura P.
Rockin' out. This is a spot to kick inhibitions and let it all hang out. With spots like Boomers, the main joys huddle along the idea that it doesn't matter who you are, this is a spot where anyone can get down.
The majority of folks are of the 40+ age range, although sprinklings of younger people do appropriate a mixed demographic. With the smorgasbord of people, there is also a hefty hilarity in music grooves. Whether its radio pop, old school 80's or light rock classics.... Boomers provides fun times for everyone and lots of laughs.
Looking for a spot to just let go and avoid the tight-lipped atmosphere of sceney clubs or restos? Boomers is a good time. -

My friends refer to this place as Cougar Central, but this is where all the 30+ folk hang out. It's a nice change of pace from the college crowd, and a large number of younger folks still come here to dance. The musical variety is a blast: 90s, 80s, hip-hop, pop, and everything in between. You can get jiggy wit it, without having to worry about looking sexy or dancing like a pro. Just throw your hands out there and swivel those hips.
Don't crowd out your elders, though...I may have got a little carried away with the hand waving and accidently tangled my fingers in some lady's hair. She wasn't impressed.
During the day, this place is known as Midtown. -

So what? I'm not a Boomer or a Zoomer, or whatever the latest name is for the plus 45 crowd. But that ain't stopping me from enjoying a heehaw good time at Boomers Lounge.
This place is designated as a nightclub for the Baby-Boomer generation, but whenever I'm in, it just seems to be a fairly mixed crowd. I suppose the overall range is leaning out of the 19-30 grouping and more into the 30 plus crew.
It's a hilarious venue, with current club beats mixed with old time favorites. You can pretty much let loose and be wild if you please, because noone there seems to be doing much judging. It does exude a slightly creepy vibe sometimes, but if you can overcome that, then perhaps you'll be on the cusp of a pretty fun night.
I can't speak to drink prices, but I can speak to an abundance of grinding and uninhibited dance moves that I've witnessed. If you're looking for some random fun in a carefree space, hit up Boomers for a raucous, albeit potentially weird, dancing good time. -

Boomers name has actually stuck to this location for sometime for when I was a DT person it changed often. Always like this location for nothing but the music. For some reason I can not get into the Techno music that most are playing. At boomer the DJ after 10:30pm will have the place up and moving with some great mixes.
Newly reno as Midtown joined forces with Boomers but after a certain time it will transform. It would have been nice to be able to increase the size of the dance floor but we all mange to get out there and show our moves. Live music and get staff keep the drink flowing or you can walk up to the open concept bar and get one for yourself.
See you on the dance floor -

Boomers, here you will learn to dance on one of the smallest dance floors in downtown Halifax. But, that does not deter anyone, from showing off their dance moves. It can be quite entertaining.
There is a mix bag of tricks in here, mostly the 40's crowd. I guess the dome takes care of all the underage kids. You will get a good variety of music from the DJ.
The interior is rather dark, but I guess all night clubs are, people look better in the dark. It is a fun time here, most of the people are indulging in drinks and the latest dirty dancing technique.
Great for a fun night out!
