Seattle, WA
I would normally give Boom Noodle a 4 based on previous experiences. The place is clean, the food is good and the staff has never been a problem. The are always nice and on top of things.
Boom Noodle gets 3 based on the food the last time we visited. I always get the Spicy Beef Udon Noodles and it is good every single time. The problem this time is the skimping on the beef. I'm not expecting a whole steak in there but at least more than 4 or 5 pieces.
Boom Noodle is still tasty and I would still recommend it. Try it!!! -

This place may actually only be a 3, but given the amount of alcohol I consumed, I can't be sure.
Apparently my boyfriend and his friends come here on Wednesday's a few times a month for Happy Hour and $2.50 sake bombs. I was dragged along so they could get drunk and interrogate me. So, I figured I might as well get drunk too. I had a couple of the sake bombs, but since I am a girl, and not 21 anymore, I couldn't down them quick enough. I don't like losing! I did have a couple delicious Ginger Lemon Martini's though, which are only $6 during HH.
There is a pretty decent HH menu, including gyoza, calamari, and pho ga. I decided to order the beef yakisoba off the regular menu though. It was pretty good, but $11 is a bit steep.
The bartenders know them all, and so the service is quite nice. I would definitely come back for more drinking marathons and to laugh at geeky Microsoft boys, but probably not on my own accord. -

Yes, I see this place is averaging 3 stars, and I think that is fair. The wait was not bad and the decor was very well set up. It looked and felt very comfortable and the menus are unique. The place was packed but I hardly saw any fellow Asian people, and its Asian food. I think its more like Americanized Asian food, which is only ok. I saw on the menu they have a lot of Japanese food, pho and even kimchi, so a little bit from all the cultures.
My food looked amazing, but didn't taste amazing. It was only ok. The beer on tap looked really great, but it was only ok. Nothing stood out, nothing blew me away. I paid my bill and left hungry. This was only an average experience, there is nothing that I can complain about but there is nothing that would draw me back here. -

I've been to Boom Noodle on Capitol Hill and liked it. I was in the area and decided to stop in for lunch with a friend. We had the veggie spring rolls which were pretty standard. Good, but nothing to write home about. I had the chicken katsu curry. Yum. perfectly breaded in panko, tender and moist. Curry sauce was good. Had a little kick to it, but not outrageous. It was a big portion. I ate half in the restaurant (and the other half the second I got home cause it was so yumz). My friend got the chicken teriyaki and she said it was really good. :)
Um, just as an aside, if you want to go to the restroom, you may get lost. It is a hundred miles away. Forealz. But that doesn't really mean anything foodwise. Eat here. Do it. Go. -

Boom Noodle is my go-to place for inexpensive Asian fusion comfort food: chicken katsu curry, Mongolian beef, spicy beef and Vietnamese pork...yum! Their ramen is good but I really prefer their rice dishes and the huge mizuna salad. Portions are huge and yummy and there are a lot of vegetarian options so I go here often for Meatless Mondays.
Happy hour is great value, but I wouldn't order the okonomiyaki which was mostly pancake and cabbage. The menu changes pretty often and without warning and a lot of my fave appetizers (korokke) disappeared and never came back. :( Make sure to wear comfortable shoes since the washrooms are far and a little confusing to get to.
Points to Boom Noodle for being really great with accommodating large groups. Before my wedding, we hosted a dinner for 20 out of town relatives and they all raved about the food and service at Boom Noodle. The place is very kid-friendly too and we come here all the time with my friends and their two little ones. The kids get baby bento boxes and little chopsticks and even little activity packs to keep them entertained. :) -

Alrighty I got to let everyone know about this place! The food is awesome and has the perfect portion size. I took my girlfriend here for a fun 1 year anniversary date and well it was a huge hit. We sat in the bar area and our waiter was fantastic. Drinks were awesome and you can tell everyone puts time and effort into the preparation of the food and drinks. I got the beef yakisoba and man my mouth is still watering...
Perfect place if you are in Bellevue and have hit up a movie at Lincoln Square! -

I agree with the aggregate here - three stars for ok noodles.
I'm not sure what it was; maybe the bland service, hyped up yet underperforming menu, or the slightly forced kotaku-lite vibe; it just didn't really click. We weren't offended at all, and finished our Yaki Udon and Vietnamese noodle salad well and good, but we were certainly left with a 'meh' feeling. The interior was okay, although the music made it feel like we were eating in the middle of an Express or Forever 21. I was confused as to who was supposed to frequent here. The clientele on our visit consisted of: i) emo kid and his parents, ii) rich family with little ones, iii) metro guy bromance hangers, iv) lonely weird dude in the corner, and v) us. It was late afternoon, so I can't fault the odd mix of folk, but it served to smear vaseline on the lens of our experience and added more 'meh' out of the whole thing.
Not bad, but the whimpy kotaku isn't worth the extra bling. -

Mediocre ramen at best. The miso ramen was wimpy, and the tonkotsu ramen was passable. In all fairness, I have had good ramen, so I know of what I speak. This ramen doesn't hold a candle to mediocre authentic ramen, and is a far cry from good ramen. But the crowds at this place seemed to be having a great time, so best to come here for the atmosphere and convenient location. They have some big family-style tables, so the place is great for a birthday party if no one in the group has is very discerning about the food. If you're looking for good ramen, go elsewhere.

We went for dinner after picking out bridesmaids dresses and service was good. we ordered a ton of delish stuff and generally the HH menu was great.
I am not sure we'll be back but it's really a great choice to the usual suspects (cheesecake factory or pf changs)- they had this amazing shrimp dish- like shrimp katsu or something like that...
HH pho is a great deal- huge bowl. -

When it comes to any business, customer service is a make-or-break practice that can alienate or retain a customer for life. After a rare, but recent sub-par experience with just a single dish at Boom Noodle in Bellevue, I emailed a note to the restaurant via their website to let them know what had happened. I didn't ask for anything and I wasn't rude or angry - I just let them know the dish I received in my to-go order was not pleasant and left it at that.
A week passed and I received an email from the chef of Boom Noodle. The chef's reply and ensuing conversation and customer service experience was hands-down one of the best I've ever experienced.
Needless to say, I'm a loyal Boom Noodle customer - not just because of this excellent customer service experience, but because I believe they have a number of very fine meals to offer (their Ramen is great!).
Great job, Chef! -

There are so many food options in Bellevue now. My friend and I were trying to think which of the many places we should eat at one cold winter day for lunch, and BODA BING, BODA BOOM... We landed on BOOM Noodle. I had to research the name, as it intrigued me. The website explains that in Japan today there is a popular term, "my boom" that means, "The thing I am currently obsessed with."
Why is BOOM noodle Boomtastic?
BOOM - fantastic tea selection - try the brown rice green tea..I know it sounds wierd..but it is really good!
BOOM - Great menu selection with MANY Gluten Free options! You don't feel like you are limited or getting the leftovers here.
BOOM - the menu now has a new seafood noodle dish that is now my new "boom" food.
BOOM - the restaurant has an open atmosphere done in warm woods. There are some booths, but mostly long wooden tables that remind me of restaurants in the Japan area. There is a 2nd floor that serves as a bar in the evening.
I love this place and can't wait to go back and eat here. -

Boom Noodle is allright, but good for ramen. I've had their ramen, and I think they have really good Tokyo Ramen. And I've been to Samurai Noodle, Fu Lins, 2 places in San Diego, and several other places. I prefer their ramen over the others.
That's all I've had so far that I've liked. I had their mochi dessert, the pairings they had with the mochi (which was totally store bought) was delicious, but not mind blowing.
Their service is molasses slow. The first time I went here we ordered Okonomiyaki and it took 30 mins to arrive, and 15 more mins for our ramen to come after. It was kind of ridiculous, but at least the waiter was nice about it. But I did not like the Okonomiyaki, and it certainly isn't like traditional okonomiyaki. It was obviously baked, and it left a weird taste in my mouth. It was also pretty small, not really worth it. I wouldn't order it again.
All in all we do come here often and I'd go if we had friends. But you have to be in the mood for it, and in the mood to spend a little cashola. lol -

Went here for happy hour last Tuesday with a good friend of mine and had a few drinks and some appetizers. It was pretty good!
The happy hour drink deal is great. I think it was $5.95 for one of their signature cocktails. I got the Kasai margarita which was a little too sweet for my taste, but still tasty, and definitely booze-y. My friend got a well drink which was $3.50.
For appetizers we got the gyoza, calamari, and spring rolls. The gyoza and spring rolls were alright, nothing really notable. The calamari were great though! Crispy batter and not overcooked at all. The aioli that came with it was ok, just your typical slightly spicy mayo-type deal.
Overall it was good but not that impressive. I've heard the noodles are pretty great though so maybe I'll come back and try some... -

A solid 3 star establishment that appropriately sits right next to Blue C Sushi. A great place for some carb reloading after a shopping marathon, where you can rest your pretty little feet and grab a cocktail appreciating the fruits of your labor (technically someone else's labor you purchased).
Clean, modern, open space, polite and smiley service. However, the food was not impressive per say: I had a taste of the following:
- Egg Rolls: Crispy, fresh and not greasy - delightful morsels
- Tokyo Ramen: very tasty and rich broth, could be a little less salty, but I still enjoyed it. Well prepared ramen noodles, soft boiled egg and braised pork loin. The pork was a bit tough and dry...is that possible in a soup? Yes, it was way overcooked.
- Bloody Mary: a decent cocktail with a hint of wasabi.
Boom Noodle is not a place to impress your taste buds, but it will still provide a very satisfying meal.
P.S. The uneven bowl (which I'm sure is used for a touch of cool) was driving me crazy...do you have any idea what that does to a person with OCD??? LOLListed in: Bellevue Dining

My hubby and I went to Boom Noodle for Date Night. We shared the Ebi Katsu (wonderful) and ramen. I had the Chicken Curry ramen and hubby had the Spicy Pork Ramen. Both had so much flavor. The spicy pork ramen had a smoked dashi broth that was amazing. The chicken curry ramen came with a plate of lime, thai basil and bean sprouts. The ramen had a light fresh flavor, I also had the Spiced plum martini. To all the Chai lovers out there, give this a try, I loved it. We will definately be back.

The service here sucks sucks sucks! I don't think you "heard" me the first three times.. the service SUCKS!
I went here because my husband suggested and he had an hr. break for lunch. We got seated quick but our waitress was yet to been seen. When Elizabeth finally showed up, we were ready to order since we had time to get to know the menu.
Blah blah blah.. fast forward, no water, food was great, had to ask the person who brought our food out for water, (saw her twice) Ahi Tacos were good. Still no Elizabeth checking in to ask if everything was okay, and still no water refill, saw the manager walk around twice to make her "rounds." And she finally saw the empty glasses that were parched, along with the patrons.
What's up with the service? We tip for service right? And if you never "served" me (you're still getting paid hourly), should I tip you?
We had to ask for the bill and this was the FIRST TIME EVER I walked out without tipping. And why did I feel bad for not tipping? I wanted to but I NEVER saw Elizabeth- she only took our order and took our bill.
I'll never go back again, the food wasn't good enough for me to crave it again. Joey's service sucks, but I bet you can get better service from them across the street. I don't know how Boom Noodle can stay afloat with a (expensive) location and service like that. -

it is what it is. japanese-inspired noodles (yakisoba, udon, ramen) in the heart of lincoln square. it's not great, but it is accessible. the miso ramen was average and a bit on the bland side.
noodle prices are a bit steep. service is alright... finding the restroom is quite a journey. if you're drinking, go first so you don't have to maneuver the labyrinth.
stop by if you're more serious about having a few drinks and less about tasty japanese noodles. -

i got the kimchee noodle bowl vegetarian style.
spice level was pretty low, but might be my mistake for assuming kimchee would be spicy.
portions are pretty awesome which is where the 3 stars come in. overall though, i have found better noodle places for cheaper. shrugs. for convenience being close to where i was staying, it did its job though - just nothing amazing. -
Review from Marc M.
I'm not quite sure I understand why there is so much angst against this company's locations as I've always had good experiences and really good food and the Bellevue Square version is no exception. The place has a really cool vibe to it with a very slick decor and lots of open space both in the dining area and at the bar.
Service has been great both times I've been here and had a chance to sit in both areas of the restaurant. My favorite dish is the beef yakisoba and ordering it here, I experienced no difference at all compared to ordering it at the Capitol Hill location. I love the fresh ingredients and the combination of cilantro and jalapeno in the mix which makes for a great contrast in flavors.
I have not tried any of the ramens which seems to be where most of the gripes from other reviewers comes from, but I have tried a couple other dishes like the sizzling toban beef which is outstanding and the ebi katsu was also very good. -
Review from Amy L.
I don't understand all the haters, maybe I'm just not a ramen connoisseur. The broths are always very flavorful, the service is always fast, and the rest of the food I've tried has been great too.
If I'm feeling like I want something like I get the seared salmon appetizer with a baby mizuna salad. I don't usually like fish and rarely like salmon but their salmon is always spot on tasty, never fishy. The salad has a great dressing on it and an interesting mix of greens with cannelini beans and red peppers.
If I want 2 gallons of ramen I go with the miso ramen with tofu and a soft boiled egg. The miso broth is sweet and savory and delicious and the corn is a great addition. I can't imagine ever actually finishing a bowl of soup so I wish I could remember to come here *after* shopping so I can actually take some leftovers home. My only complaint about this place is that they must have a ton of food waste with their ridiculous soup portions.
The mixed drinks are pricey but tasty and strong. There is a cocktail made with ginger liqueur that is usually my favorite.
I like this place enough that writing this review makes me want to go there for dinner tonight! -

I went to this place for lunch with my coworker several times, and the both of us always ordered the same thing everytime. I always ordered katsu curry rice, and my friend would order their Pho. They are pretty good. Katsu curry rice has a slice of egg, katsu, carrots, and my fav is the pink Japanese/Chinese 'pickle' on top which tastes sour, but it adds a good flavor to the dish, imho.
I've tried their Mongolian Beef and Spicy Garlic Beef, they were just ok. The seafood donburi wasn't that good, kind of bland. I tried their Simply Apple juice and it was meh. Though my friend ordered the chocolate lava cake and loved it a lot. I wish they have a broader menu, I feel right now there's not so much to select from. But the setting is nice, always gets so busy at lunch hour so we always tried to get there a little early before noon. -

Attention all Steamcon III attendees:
If you were annoyed by the high food prices encountered at some restaurants in the vicinity of the Hyatt, and/or didn't like having people awkwardly staring at you while you were trying to eat your dinner... Next time, you should really try Boom Noodle.
The atmosphere is fun, the wait staff is really nice (and they LOVE the steampunks), the food is good, and... Well, they claimed to offer a 10% discount to all convention goers, but I'm pretty sure they took more than 10% off our bill. Feeding four people for $54 at a place like Boom Noodle is practically unheard of in my experience, but it happened.
Long story short, to the Boom Noodle staff: Brace yourselves for more costumed shenanigans, 'cause we're definitely coming back next year. :) -

I've been here a few times and I keep going back because I *want* to like this place, but I just haven't found a reason to really enjoy going here...
I first went about a year ago and had the little ahi taco appetizer for my meal and enjoyed those, but when the colder weather hit I wanted warm food and everything I've had here has been "just okay" and a bit too expensive for what I'm getting. I've had the chicken teriyaki and some of the noodle dishes too; people we've gone with seem okay with their selections but never really impressed with anything in particular. I have a feeling that the appetizer selection may contain the gems of the menu just from what I've tried here...
The ambiance is a little dreary with militaristic images mixed with an industrial feel too.
I kind of doubt I'll go back here actually... if I want a big bowl of noodles, I may as well go to any of the several pho places around. -

Something is just wrong with the chef here and their ramen recipe. Please, stop pouring salt in your ramen. It's not really a hard request, you you. The tokyo ramen was bad enough, but the it's nothing compared to the Kimchi Ramen. It was so salty that we had to complain to the waiter. We are not the type to complain, trust me. The man asked if he could bring hot water out so we can pour it in the broth to make it less salty. REALLY ?!?!?!?! This is your customer service suggestion? I'm sorry, but you just moved yourself up in my black list.

I made a yelp account just to review this resturaunt.
Yuck. So the resturant has got some aethetic appeal but other than that I didn't like it. If you like your tatooed men working as waiters (the waitresses are grungey too) I guess you could check it out. But don't go for the food or service.
I ordered the coconut curry which I was hoping would be better than my mom's (it's pretty decent, not gonna lie) but what I got was coconut soup, which is just a bit disappointing. just a bit. Anyways, it was terribly bland. It didn't even taste coconuty :(. I was tempted to ask for something else since it wasn't curry and I felt it was a reasonable request, but I didn't. The serving is huge. Definitely bigger than my head (the bowl). It still wasn't worth the 11 or something dollars I spent on it. I tried my friends dishes (not exactly sure which ones, teriyaki and udon possibly) and they were pretty blah too.
The service definitely killed the rating for these guys. They weren't friendly at all (too caught up in being all grungey and cool I guess) and they seemed sloppy in their work. It was only after our dinner that I really didn't like them. We sat waiting for our bill for 15 minutes. We were paitiently waiting and hanging around until I decided to go talk to the reservations lady. She took her time asking someone to get out bill for us. We ended up waiting another 10 minutes for our bill. Yay.
Please don't go here. -

If you find yourself unfortunate enough to be 1) in Bellevue Square and 2) really hungry, this is the place to go. Heck, once we even braved the PARKING GARAGE OF DOOM to specifically eat here.
Once month I dragged my husband to Pottery Barn for rug related reasons like, 5 times. He only stayed married to me because, each time, there were tasty noodles waiting for him after we got done matching patterns. That's right, Boom Noodle is good for your marriage. -

I went here with some friends while I was in town. We weren't looking for a place with decent food and fast since we were all meeting up to chat about an upcoming bachelorette party planning event.
My friend vouched for Boom Noodle and said she thought it was good so we all decided to take her word and stop in. Ok, I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants that try to recreate asian food. Prices were fairly decent around $7-$10 for lunch and depending on what you get. I decided to go with the vietnamese vermicelli bowl with grilled pork for $9.50. I'll tell you this, if you're wanting authentic vermicelli bowls then I highly suggest you try an authentic vietnamese restaurant b/c you're not going to get it from here nor will you be satisfied.
The bowl came with vermicelli, various chopped up veggies, slices of grilled pork and a bland fish sauce and what looked to be like hoison sauce drizzled on the outter rim of the bowl (meh)! Needless to say I wasn't a huge fan and if I had to pay more for that bowl then I wouldn't have been happy. If you're looking for a fast place and this is the only asian food you could get then this is the spot for you but if you have a surplus of restaurants in your area then this spot isn't for you. -

Two words for you.....food poisoning. My husband got a clear cut case of it from take out, which he ate immediately upon return. We both ordered beef dishes, and I actually passed on mine due to an off-putting odor. He wasn't laughing at me two hours later.
I cannot imagine why anyone would go here. We are from out of town and had unbelievable sushi and other dishes all over Bellevue, Seattle and Portland. -

I'm sad to read some of these negative reviews; I really like Boom Noodle! I always get the vegetarian Shiitake Soba and love it. I've never heard a complaint from other people I've eaten there with regarding other entrees. I also enjoy the green bean appetizer and vegetarian gyoza. It's impossible to find veggie gyoza...they're always pork. The dishes are presented well and I've never had a problem with the seasoning as others have mentioned. Saltiness is subjective, though, I suppose.
I've been there in the past and had questionable service, but it seems to be improving. Food is coming out faster and apps are arriving before entrees most of the time. I won't say it's perfect, but good service.
Parking is not great as you have to spiral up, up, up in the parking garage behind the Lodge to find a spot, but I usually only eat here at lunch and I work in dt Bellevue = walking.
It's a nice change of pace from Pho restaurants if you're in the mood for soup. -

Private party dining at Boom Noodle/Blue C Sushi in Bellevue is outstanding. I was part of a bach party and for dinner we kicked the evening off in the shared private dining area located upstairs.
The place was secluded and open. When we arrived our group order was already out (buffet style) and ready to be served. We were able to bring our own champagne and wine ahead of time and they chilled that for us on separate tables with glasses ready.
The dinner menu is varied and delicious. Our wait staff, Jenny and Erin, were so accommodating and kind. We truly felt taken care of and best of all - the bride-to-be really, really enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food.
As far as the $$$, it was a great group deal - but honestly, the value and service you receive here is worth more than the what you'll spend.
Birthday? Business party? Bach party? I recommend this place! -

For what it's worth. A pretty good dining experience in a very trendy/sexy location.
Nestled by the Bellevue Square, the location is prime for shoppers and Bellevue denizens alike.
From all the Boom Noodles I've gone to, this location is by far my favorite Boom. The great atmosphere and high ceilings give off the vibe of a trendy bar, and the food is pretty tasty... Save for the ramen...
When I come here, I primarily spend my hard earned cash on happy hour dining. The happy hour menu is varied with tastes for many a man, woman, child, robo, samurai, or ninja. You just can't go wrong.
On a recent visit I grabbed my usual. The salmon tataki (seared salmi sashimi in a ponzu sauce), fried tofu, and okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki was the highlight of my visit, it was fluffy and full of flavor, the braised pork was delicious and if had just the right amount of sauce. The salmon wasn't the best this time around, though I won't dock points since usually it's very good, the cuts of salmon were just too thin and there was too much ponzu sauce. The fried tofu was good. Not much can go wrong with that.
For my beverage I grabbed the Cucumber Gimlet. A rum based cocktail that's refreshing with a hint of sweet. It's my favorite cocktail here.
I've never been a fan of the ramen, I could get better ramen at Samurai Noodle (and pay half the price).
The service is pretty stellar here. The bartenders are great and the servers are attentive and really do take care of you.
Excellent happy hour, though I've had better ramen, overall a good eating experience! -
Review from Karen L.
I honestly wasn't expecting much, since this is basically an Asian fusion restaurant that's trying to serve Japanese ramen AND pho in the same establishment. However, I'm glad my expectations were exceeded and their tonkotsu ramen is actually not bad at all, though not the best by a long shot. Boyfriend ordered the tonkotsu and I ordered the kimchi ramen, though instead of a raw egg, I asked for a soft boiled egg instead. The kimchi ramen was tasty and a warm bowl of noodle soup always hits the spot, but I was a bit irked by the temperature of the soup. It wasn't hot nor cold, but lukewarm (the tofu was a bit on the cold side). That really bothered me, because it should be piping hot!
I'd come here again, but mostly because there aren't many options for good ramen on the Eastside, with accessible parking. However, next time, I'll probably try something else. -

To me, Boom Noodle is nothing special although I do really like the clean and crisp look to the restaurant. The food is okay and the service is nothing special. One word of caution when ordering: if you are not a fan of spicy food, make sure to specify that because on several occasions I have received food that was almost too spicy to eat since I did not say anything.

One of the better options for inexpensive dining near Bellevue Square. Mongolian beef was good, Vietnamese noodle salad wasn't the best I've had but was still decent. Overall, the food is tasty and light, and there isn't usually too long of a wait time. All of the people I've been here with generally have seemed satisfied with the dishes they ordered. Would recommend it for a quick bite or casual meal over the other cheaper restaurants in the area (Red Robin, PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory, etc).
