I love this store, and nearly always venture in for a look, while at the Central library branch.
Great cards, gifts, jewelry, I recently found a very difficult to find japanese stamp set here, which pleased me a great deal.
The staff is polite, helpful and encourage you to browse~ not pushy at all.
I love everything they sell here!

This is my favourite place to get gifts for people who (1) Are hard to shop for, OR (2) You don't know very well.

I have bought coworker gifts, mutual friend gifts, housewarming presents, birthday presents and lots of cards here. They have a lovely selection of stationary, book-related goodies as well as literary and non-literary knick-knacks.

New York has the MOMA store filled with desirable and slightly geeky items; Vancouver has Bookmark.

The proceeds of sales from the store go to support the Vancouver Public Libary via the Friends of VPL Society (the society also organizes the book sales). The store is easy to miss, being just inside the main doors on the right. Head inside to discover a world of stationary mania and great items for kids.

Bookmark is on my list of places to frequent when I'm buying for difficult-to-shop-for people. The adorable items quickly woo me over with their style and reasonable prices. Then when they're wrapped perfectly with a nice card, the presents are guaranteed to woo the receiver too!

Bookmark gift shop is all that you dream a library gift shop to be, although the inherent lack of books to purchase is noticeable! Nevermind that, we are after all, in a library, and a very good one at that.

The Bookmark gift shop carries all sorts of trinkets and knick-knacks to accessorize your love for everything literary and a few things that have no relation to books whatsoever, from beautifully designed jewellery to children's stuffed toys and handmade greeting cards. What caught my eye the most was the unique selection of children's items, toys and books (okay, so they do sell books...! my bad!) and educational puzzles and the like. The tourists will find comfort in knowing that they can purchase Vancouver Olympic 2010 merchandise, as well as journals, stationary, bookmarks and other such items that are considered gift-worthy.

This is the best library gift shop EVER! I love stationary and little trinkets and everything else that falls into similar categories... and this place doesn't disappoint! Though small, they are packed with good stuff (and its not THAT expensive either - mind you, you are indulging in frivolous purchases when you buy anything from here!).

I wish, though, that Bookmark was open longer... why would you close such a great place at 5pm?! It should keep the same hours as the library.

Bookmark has a great selection of gifts for children and book-lovers.  You can buy the VPL bags that are frequently seen around town.  Of course the normal book accessories: book lights, and book marks.  For those creatively inspired- the magnetic words for refrigerator poetry.  There's a lot of creative gifts for children here: puzzles, educational toys, stuffed animals.  And of course some Vancouver items.

Bookmark opens to the library, as well as to the indoor corridor.  The store is partially operated by volunteers- and everyone I've spoken with have been very helpful.
