Not sure why I've never reviewed this place as I've enjoyed very good meals here for several years. It's the sister restaurant to the pricier Amici's located on the second floor. This main floor restaurant is quite casual and has a great menu of antipasti $8-$14, pizzas $15, pastas in half and full size orders with most half sizes around $13 and full sizes around $18. And most secondi dishes are under $25. All pastas and secondi come with house salad, caesar or soup of the day. The meal starts off with a basket of bread - not amazing but good with regular butter and herb and garlic.
The house salad is a mixed green salad with pine nuts and a creamy dressing. The house salad is quite good along with the caesar.
The mussels are delicious here as a starter. Other good dishes are the beef tenderloin, grilled lamb chops, and veal. The secondi dishes come with seasonal veggies and portion of fettuccine alfredo. A great pasta dish is the Linguine con Zucca, Formaggio di Caprae Gamberi - roasted butternut squash, shrimp, caramelized onions and goat cheese. I had the half size and it was the perfect amount of pasta and it was only $13.50 - so reasonable. The sauce is the butternut squash base, great taste but doesn't scream butternut squash. The grilled shrimp were perfectly cooked and very plump (3 on the half size order). This is a great dish if you love goat cheese cause there's a generous portion of it.
Service is always very efficient and friendly there. The kitchen has now moved upstairs to the Amici's kitchen; in the old days, there was an open kitchen cooking away in front of you. The decor is fairly dated and needs to be updated. Something about the brass bars, 80's upholstered chairs and orangey paint kinda turns me off. Otherwise, this a great place for dinner as you get great food at very reasonable prices. The quality is always there as I've never left disappointed. -

For this price/category, I think this is as good as it gets.
Great food and quality ingredients, also had amazing service.
