Love the Girls.
Love the shop.
Love the neighbourhood.
I did my first tattoo there and my experience was just perfect. I recommend this tattoo shop if you are looking for a chill atmosphere, where you will feel comfortable at any moment. Both the artists are super cool with you, they put you in a great state of mind and keep you relax. I recommend that place for anyone who is looking for doing their first tattoo. -

I went here for my first tattoo and I couldn't have asked for a better first tattoo experience. The artist was the proprieter's father (Bruce Bodkin) who had been tattooing since 1963, so I felt that I was in capable hands. I came in with a sketch which was very tastefully redrawn to be a tattoo. While Bruce was preparing the tattoo equipment, Dominique (the owner) offered me a coffee since she was going to Café Depanneur for refueling. Fun banter ensued and we dove right in.
After the tattoo was finished, Bruce talked me through how to care for it and mentioned that I can come back for a free touchup in a month or so if need be. I would definitely get another tattoo if I decide on a new bit of ink and recommend it strongly. The influence is definitely the classic tattoo i.e. sailor jerry and/or the kind of tattoo that your grandpa would have gotten while on shore leave.
I never thought that being stabbed with ink could be so fun! -

I've been tattooed at many shops in the US and Canada, and this shop is my favorite by far. Unlike many tattoo shops, the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. No screaming heavy metal music or skanky body piercing. The artists are friendly and helpful. They take their time and listen to what you want. The prices are super reasonable and most importantly, the tattoos turn out looking amazing! Personally, I'm a fan of classic, "traditional" tattoos, and this is the only shop I know of in Montreal with an artist that specializes in them (Jessi). That's why I only get tattooed here anymore. Stop by the shop and you'll see why I love it.

Bodkin Tattoo is Montreal's favorite new tattoo shop. Bodkin opened in the winter of 2011 by Dominique Bodkin. As the daughter of a veteran tattoo artist, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the tattoo trade.
