I just had a truly lovely facial from Andrew. I'm not one to throw the word "lovely" around -okay, maybe just a little- but this really was a nice experience. Andrew is fantastic! He knows skin types, had a great touch, explained the process as he went (I was curious and asked), and gave good recommendations for products. I work outside a lot and Andrew explained the differences between sun blocks to me very well so I know what to look for when I go shopping.
The spa itself was a bright and spacious place.
I look forward to my next facial!

Make an appointment. Now. There's a handy online booking system that makes it really easy and not annoying. Do it!
After your Blue Turtle facial, you will actually look better than you have since before teenage acne. Its not like so many facials, were you leave blotchy, shiny, and irritated. The reason seems to be Andrew's focus on giving your skin what it needs. He approaches the skin scientifically, and emphasizes balancing the relationship between your skin and the outside world. After hearing his sensible explanations, I think I know more about my skin than I ever have AND how to work with it to make it look its best. Knowledge is power!
Plus, you get to pick your own music, and you will smell amazing afterwards. What are you waiting for? -

I'm more than happy that he is very knowledgable and he takes the time to help one understand their face... It's not like any facial were they can care less what products you use... I had my first facial with Andrew and he is great. He is very gentle but thorough with extractions. You will receive a consultation upon your first meeting and I learned so much. He also does not push products which I really appreciate. Don't forget to bring in your daily regimen so Andrew can assess all the junk you put on your face.
Lastly, he offers a full music menu to accompany your facial. Very cool! -

I just had my second facial with Andrew and the next morning an acquaintance complimented me out of the blue and said I was glowing...... GLOWING!!
I've been to several estheticians and dermatologists before. No one compares to Andrew's knowledge, ability to communicate and expertise. Andrew can give you the medical run down about your skin in layman's terms and leave you confidently prepared to take the healthiest care of your skin.
I noticed a difference within one week. By my 30 day follow up I was thrilled with the results and proud to be a "student" of Andrews. My skin has truly never looked better and any issues that do arise are minimal if at all. His recommended skin regimen has calmed down any break outs, lightened previous damage caused by my dermatologist (never get DioLite!) and given me the security to walk around bare faced again.
The products he applies work and are completely affordable. If you can do the work and abstain from the crap we used to cleanse our skin with then you too will be an ecstatic student. His facials are thorough, relaxing and leave you fresh faced, ready to take on the world. I can't thank Andrew enough for making such a huge, positive improvement in my skin. Become a convert now, ladies.......it's the best decision you'll ever make. -

I decided to start taking care of my face after turning 31. I used to buy beauty products without knowing what work best for me. I bought everything simply based on advertisement & online reviews. I have a dry face and sensitive cheeks. I've tried so many moisturizers in the past, and after 2 hours of application my face will crack again. I have sensitive cheeks, so I couldn't use blush-on for the longest time until a friend introduced Clinique's blush-on 3 months a go. Blush-on used to give me redness & itchiness, I had no idea why.
I went to Blue Turtle Spa because I got a gift card for my birthday. I mentioned to Andrew how frustrated I am with my dry face. He asked me to fill out a form, and based on my answers he can analyze my skin better. One of the question was: "name/brand of exfoliant", my answer was "N/A". I don't exfoliate. Andrew told me that that's the issue. I need to exfoliate dead skin cells on my face at least 3 X a week. Otherwise no moisturizer will work on my face. 2nd issue is, I don't use SPF for my face. The sun dries out skin like nothing else. Last but not least, I use products that have detergent in them (cleanser, toner, etc). These products dry my skin easily.
So after the facial, he recommended some products that have the ingredients that I need to moisturize my skin. I am so happy that I can pin point my issues with Andrew, and he gave me some good tips such as "don't wash your face with hot water. It'll dry your skin". OMG I always wash my face with hot water!! silly me!
Andrew is awesome. I finally understand what my face needs, and I won't buy products based on advertisement/online reviews ever again.
He said if I use the products that he recommended religiously and follow his tips and take care of my face better (wash my face before going to bed, etc), my face won't be as dry and sensitive as before. 3-4 months I should have a balanced and happy skin. Can't wait!
The treatment was gentle, and super relaxing. I actually fell asleep! I'm talking about extraction, mask, face massage, etc... I fell asleep =) I felt super refreshed & rejuvenated after the facial.
Will visit Andrew every 3 months. That's my goal.
If only teeth cleaning is this relaxing...I might go to my dentist more often........ -

Andrew is pretty much awesome.
I got a 30 minute express facial (no mask) and even with a shorter session he really takes the time to walk you through how YOUR skin works and really studies your regimen to give recommendations that are really customized. My face felt like a baby's bottom after he was done!
Another plus is that he never tried to SELL me anything; he let me know what he used and why, but I never felt pressured to buy, which is always a huge PLUS. His work and products speak for themselves - I ended up coming back a couple months later to buy something anyway :)
If you're unsure for any reason, you can always go in for a 15 minute complimentary session, where you'll get Andrew's expertise on your skin and your regimen (bring your products from home!)

Upon reviewing all the Yelp articles about Andrew's work, I decided to treat myself to a facial at his spa. It was fantastic! He was very good about explaining everything, how to best treat my skin, and the facial itself was so relaxing. I felt absolutely beautiful afterwards. I cannot recommend him highly enough, and will definitely be back!

I've never been the kind of guy to get facials, pedis or medis for that matter. But I'm getting older now and everything is in decline, so I need a little more help keeping up appearances.
After an initial mixup with the scheduling, I met with Andrew for my facial. I realized after talking with him for only a few minutes that I had been doing a miserable job taking care of my own skin, but quickly had a sense that he was going to set things right.
When I left Blue Turtle Spa later that evening I felt refreshed, and excited about how my skin felt and looked. I also left with products better suited to my skin type (no more off the shelf scrubs for me) , and the much needed knowledge of how to use them.
But even with these new tools in hand, I will definitely be back. There is a wedding on the horizon and I know Andrew will help me look my best. -

I have tried everything to get my acne-prone, oily, problematic skin under control and nothing worked until I met Andrew Scouler at Blue Turtle Spa. I was referred to him by a girlfriend and it was the best referral of my life. Since getting off the pill to try and get pregnant my face broke out severely with cystic acne all over my chin. That's when I decided it was time to get help. Andrew is so knowledgeable about skin and took 30 minutes of his time in a complimentary consultation to tell me all about cystic acne and what causes it. He described to me all the things I was probably doing that were making my acne worse. He was right on. All the typical products like Proactiv on the market are so harsh to the skin, strip your natural oil away and aggravate your acne issues.
I was very skeptical that Andrew could help me, because I have tried everything on the market since I was a teenage. I'm 40 years old now and still dealing with cystic acne. Andrew told me what I needed to do, but never pushed his products. Only when I asked, did he recommend some of his favorite, time-tested products to me. They were not inexpensive, but worth every penny. Since getting on his program, my cystic acne is essentially gone! In less than a month I was amazed at the transformation; by the third month my cystic acne was gone and scaring all went away. I am still amazed to this day that it worked. I do get the occasional acne breakout, but nothing like before and it's usually due to me not sticking to the program when I am tired or have been out late.
I highly recommend Andrew at Blue Turtle Spa. He is the nicest person you will ever meet and he knows his stuff. His facials are so relaxing and your skin feels amazing afterwards. His facials are also very reasonably priced. Check Andrew out, you won't regret it. -

Andrew is absolutely fantastic. He is so professional and really knows skin. I have dark brown skin so I'm always a little wary when I go to a new person to tend to my face but I went to the free consultation first and was so impressed - I took his advice on just how to wash my face and noticed a difference - just from the consultation!
I went in yesterday for the facial and my face felt so great. It was so relaxing, with great atmosphere and when I left I felt like I was getting a prescription as Andrew wrote exactly how to use the products that I purchased. Absolutely excellent! -

$75 for an hour facial in the city? that's a steal.
The comforter on the treatment bed is SO HEAVENLY, I can't wait to go back.
He didn't sell products at all, in fact I had to ask him about the 3 products I bought. Perfect for me, that's my petpeeve.
He knows a lot about skin and products. He really cares a lot about his customers.
He is definitely my regular go- to! -

Andrew is A-mazing: not only a great professional but a fantastic person. He is caring and knowledgeable and will totally make your money worth. The educational session he does before the facial to explain about the products you are using and the potential mistakes you are making is something you cannot find anywhere else!!!
Also, he is very attentive in using cruelty-free and not-tested on animal products, which I think is extremely important.

Right from the start, I was impressed with Blue Turtle Spa. I was able to book my appointment online, and got an email right away from Andrew personally, letting me know that I was eligible for a 50% off referral promotion the spa was having. Definitely left a good first impression.
Upon arriving, I was thoroughly impressed with Andrew's in-depth consultation of my skin and skin care products. He explained the science behind everything which really gave him a lot of credibility in my book. I was a little afraid that the consultation would be a big sales job on products, but it was nothing like that. Andrew was just focused on educating me on how to reach my skin care goals. He was super professional, and a pleasure to talk to!
The facial itself was super relaxing and made my skin look and feel absolutely amazing afterwards. It felt so luxurious to be so pampered! The facial included a really nice neck and shoulder massage which I seriously needed. I would recommend Blue Turtle Spa (esp Andrew) in a heartbeat!
I did wind up buying some sunscreen at the end of the facial, but there was no pressure to at all. I just really loved the product. I can't wait to go back after my wedding! -

Just extraordinary! After the facial with Andrew my skin didn't look irritated, red or upset - it looked radiant and healthy! I've learned a lot about my skin and how to better take care of it. The tips he gave me also didn't sound too complicated or time consuming, so I guess it will be easy for me to stick with the routine.
But, still, my favorite part of the yesterday session was the facial massage - pure bliss and heaven! Amazing! Thank you, Andrew, and see you soon again! -

I just had my first visit/facial with Andrew and am very pleased...which is saying a ton coming from me. I don't often pamper myself, but since another birthday is almost here, I thought my aging complexion could use some pampering...I highly recommend Andrew. An odd experience too was that I felt attractive after I left and I haven't felt like that in a long time! He doesn't overdo or underdo (not a word) the facial--it's really done according to your needs as he truly knows his business. his personality made me feel comfortable- he's for real and is very kind and highly professional. I asked about the products because I looked so much better, he didn't sell or push at all-I also got the sunscreen, etc. The room and everything felt clean and fresh and the bed was comfy/pampering.

andrew was amazing and was very detail oriented and knowledgable about everything from my skin type to what products i should and shouldn't be using. he knew a lot about all the products i told him i was using as well. and the best part was i did not even come out red and my skin was glowing.

One of the best facialists I've ever met. Andrew has this gentle demeanor, is well educated in all skin care, and leaves you with a glowing, baby-bottom face at the end of the facial. He taught me better skin care routines so the facial just keeps on giving! He sells a lot of the products he uses, and the alpha hydroxy serum has done wonders for my skin. I would definitely go back here!

After recently having a baby I was looking for a place where I could accomplish two goals. The first to get in some much needed pampering for both my husband and me. Second, to make my husband's birthday a special one.
Andrew really worked with us to make the day an exclusive one by inviting us to the Clement street location where we were able to enjoy our facial and massage services in tandem. The unique art installations, peaceful view of the garden, and the luxurious accoutrements really lent to the overall atmosphere of beauty and relaxation. Where other facial technicians have left my face sensitive and bruised, Andrew was gentle, leaving my face feeling clean and refreshed.
I also really appreciated Andrew's "no-pressure" approach to my consultation, where most other places inevitably make you feel obligated to purchase their products. Even my husband came away feeling rejuvenated.
This was by far the best facial I have ever had. Massage was also really good. -

I have not had that many facials that I could compare against Andrew's treatments but I have had enough massages and other forms of hands on experience to know that the Blue Turtle Spa is in a league of its own.
Andrew is extremely knowledgeable about the products he uses and the available styles of treatments and is very good at explaining each step of his process to his clients. The treatment is thorough and presented in a relaxed unhurried manner without dragging it out.
All I can really say is that the results were remarkable. I heard raves and pleasant comments by people of my inner circle for days after the treatments. I cannot recommend Andrew highly enough. This is one spa I want to see grow and thrive in San Francisco. -

Is genius too strong a word? For Andrew, I think, not.
The first session amazed me and made me a fan eager to return. I have experienced facials for several years and (quite literally) in every part of the country and several abroad. No where did I get the straight talk and information Andrew provided. On top of that, my sensitive very dry skin looked awesome without makeup. I positively glowed.
I've been back just a couple of times, (after all, I just moved here 10 weeks ago). Andrew always explains what works and why. The facial itself is so relaxing and beneficial to my skin- like I said - amazing. -

I had a facial with Andrew on Friday and he was so knowledgeable, kind and really patient. It was my first facial with him and before we even got started I brought in the products I normally use and he looked at the ingredients and explained what was good and what was not so good for me since I have sensitive, redness prone skin. You can tell that he really enjoys his job and takes pride in what he knows. The facial part was amazing and the facial bed was even more amazing- so plush and comfy by the time it was done I didn't want to get up. The best part is, is that he doesn't push products on you. I absolutely HATE when that happens and it annoys the hell out of me. If I want products, I will ask. :) All in all Andrew is amazing and I am so glad I found him. He is definitely going to be my #1 facialist.

Andrew is, by far, the best esthetician I have ever been to.
I can't say enough wonderful things about him. He is very knowledgeable, ethical, kind, and professional. Not only does he give fabulous advice for your skin, but he explains his reasoning and really teaches you something.
I had been to other estheticians, spent hundreds of dollars on junk products for clear, happy skin, and not gotten the result I wanted. Andrew worked to balance my skin, never tried to sell me anything I didn't need, and now my skin glows!
He really goes far above the normal esthetician, and I would recommend him a thousand times! -

My entire experience with Andrew was topnotch. He was incredibly kind, communicative and seems very knowledgeable about skin care. I felt totally relaxed and yet informed throughout my facial treatment. His neck massage was melt away fabulous. And I loved, at the end, that there was no hard sell for products (which makes me respect the therapist more). I did walk out with a really great sunscreen that I'm thrilled with and plans to see Andrew again in the future.

I received a wonderful facial from Andrew a week before my wedding. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and put me completely at ease.
My bridesmaids were warning me - don't get a facial to soon before the wedding, your face will be red and blotchy! - but Andrew gave me a gentle relaxing facial that made my skin look great, not only when I stepped out of the spa but also for my wedding photos a week later.

I don't even like facials, but I was convinced by a friend to try again based on the Yelp reviews, and OMG this one rocked. Andrew is smart, knowledgeable, and kind, with healing hands. My face was *happy* after a facial with extractions! I liked his recommendations, I liked his music selection, and I was essentially meditating for the entire facial. I think my face likes Andrew, which is good because I do, too. He did a great job, and has an ethical business to boot. I really can't write more, because you have to go to Andrew to believe it.
Oh, I also forgot to mention: I have medium brown skin, and he showed me a great sunscreen which does not look chalky on me! Amazing. -

I got a facial at the Blue Turtle Spa yesterday and was blown away. I originally booked a quick, 30 min extraction with Andrew (easy to book online). After meeting Andrew and getting his consultation on my skin, I decided to get a full facial. The facial was great. Almost painless, yet effective extractions and an amazing massage. My skin feels great. I will come back!

Thanks Yelpers! I came here based on the rave reviews and I was not disappointed.
I brought my mom for a facial here for mother's day and it was a great experience. My mother is a tough customer - doesn't usually get things like facials and massages, and is a natural born skeptic, but Andrew quickly put her at ease. First he took the time to go over our skin care routines and then took my mom in for the treatment. When my mom came out she was all smiles and her skin looked great! It was an instant difference! Then it was my turn - Andrew is the perfect balance between knowledgeable and pampering. He really seems like he cares about helping you take good care of your skin. My skin looked and felt amazing afterwards and even hours later I can't believe how even and soft it is. Also, it feels good to support a local business run by someone who enjoys what they do.
I am very impressed with Andrew and I think he really made my mom's day - she even said she wanted to come back and do it again! I will definitely go back! -

Andrew is justly famous for his fantastic facials. He is sincere, incredibly well-informed, nonjudgmental, and in short will make your day. He also does not over-sell either products or the facials themselves -- if you don't need to come back for three months, he'll tell you that directly (though I guarantee you'll want to come back as often as possible -- it's therapeutic for soul as well as skin!).

I came in a non-believer and left with a clear face and knowledge of how to sustain it. After a couple visits my skin has improved tenfold in every aspect! Andrew is undeniably the most knowledgeable person around when it comes to skincare. I would highly recommend going to Blue Turtle Spa if you have any issues regarding your skin.

I have had extractions before. Kind of painful.
Andrew changed my mine. His Express Facial was wonderful, enjoyable and relaxing. I got to choose the music I wanted to listen to and I just laid back and relaxed. To top it off he has a gorgeous accent that's great to listen to.
Before the treatment, Andrew sat down and talked to me about my skincare routine and went through each product I used step by step. He taught me about skin pH and what commercial moisturizers really do. Best of all it didn't feel like he was trying to sell me anything! I'll definitely come back again and will follow his skincare advice. -

I met Andrew when he was still at Skyline College. I've been getting my facial at Skyline for the past 3-4 years before I met him. Prior to having my facial done by him, I was content to paying the $10-15 fee for a full facial. But Andrew was special. I knew from the moment he looked at my face on that magnifying glass that he was more knowledgeable than most other estheticians. I've never gone back to Skyline & would drive to the Richmond district at his own spa or at West Portal from Burlingame. I have a very sensitive skin & he keeps it in tip-top shape. If you meet me, you'd know what I'm talking about. All the information that Andrew gives out is just music to my ears. And keeps himself educated - always taking classes & really reviews all the ingedients before recommending it to you. He's a gem. Everyone keeps talking about the fountain of youth... With Andrew taking care of my skin, I don't have to worry about that for a couple more years! (PS. I'm re-posting this. Don't know why Yelp has to take out my review in the first place! This is very legit.)

Normally I do not spend money on treatments because I cannot justify the expense. It is effemeral, fleeting, expensive and you have to do it over and over again for the same experience and results. I like to have something that has a more permenant value and is more varied. Recently, my husband gifted me a treatment by Andrew. What pleasure and results! It was like going to a therapist but for your appearance. And like a therapist, I could take away with me improved behaviour. My skin never looked so good but what was best was that my skin stayed looking good forever really. With some product adjustments suggested by Andrew and a routine I can maintain a facial quality skin tone on a regular basis and visit Andrew for those special occasions. I particularily appreciate Andrews great knowledge. Worth every penny.

Best facial ever! Andrew knows how to treat a client - he personalizes your treatment to impeccable detail. He is fanatic about using top quality ingredients in his products, so that your skin is left feeling clean, wonderful and youthful. I recently received a gift certificate for a facial at the Blue Turtle Spa. I've had several facials, but opted for the introductory facial with Andrew Scoular, which included an overview of my skin care regimen along with the facial itself. The experience was both enlightening and incredibly relaxing. I also loved the fact that you get to pick your own soundtrack for the experience. I will definitely be going back and enjoying the more advanced skin treatments soon!
