I know as much about good coffee as I know about good wines: not much.
Blue Parrot is supposedly one of the oldest coffee bars around (since 1979). Places with views usually suck in the food/drink/everything department, but Blue Parrot delivers.
Buy some hot black liquid and enjoy the view. It's good for you. -

On the quest for some espresso on Granville Island, BF and I stumbled upon Blue Parrot Espresso Bar in hopes of some quality espresso juice. This little joint quickly caught our attention in the bustling food court of the beautiful public market.
They made an effort to point out that their coffee is organic, just as many of the espresso bars in the public market were, but the style of this particular one was the one to try. BF and I are espresso people. No brewed coffee. Nada, but some simple espresso shots with some milk and sugar.
I ordered the doppio espresso, topped with whipped cream. Bf ordered the same. The espresso and the chocolate whipped cream was amazing. No sourness, just pure freshness. Drinking fresh espresso in cute little cups in Granville Island on a chilly day. Nothing could have been better. We were happy. -

It's organic, it's delicious, and it's in a fantastic location.
Tucked into a corner of Granville Island Public Market, Blue Parrot is surrounded by windows that send light streaming in. Plenty of seating on the main level and even more on the loft-like space above. Wherever you sit, though, you're treated to a beautiful view of, um, whatever that body of water is and the grand bridge that spans it.
Go...get a yummy espresso beverage, a baked good (apple cinnamon roll perhaps), and take in the glorious (and mysterious) Vancouver scenery. -

I've been frequenting this cafe whenever I go to G-ville Island since 2003. I like the coffee here. It's decent. They make a good mocha. And they also can make maple lattes!! Which has recently become my new favorite cuppa jo. This place hardly lets me down.
Now if only they could make their lattes to be $2....Listed in: Granville Island Must-eats…

The location of this place couldn't be any better. No matter what weather it is or what time it is, you have the perfect view on downtown across the False Creek. Lot of seating. Their coffee is excellent and baked goodies are yummy, try toffee flavoured mocha and their cinnamon rolls.

Blue Parrot serves up a great latte, but it's damn hot! Consider getting your beverage for here, so that you can enjoy the views that are gorgeous, even on a rainy day. In addition to drinks, Blue Parrot serves up food. They have breakfast and non-breakfast sandwiches all day long. Save your receipt for 10% off at La Baguette Bakery.

Even if it's grey outside this cafe is full of light, a perfect respite for a cup of morning java. I'm a fan of dark blends and this one didn't impress too much, nor did their bagel with microwaved egg for $7.50 but i'd gladly suck it up for a spot at one of their tables with a waterside view.

Great view good organic coffee and cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing, you don't need more to get your morning going.

Sitting here, drinking a latte and watching the boats go by. This is my happy place.

If you're in need of a break between picking up your produce and your freshly baked loaf of bread, don't miss out on having a coffee from Blue Parrot. This little coffee stand offers up a strong, dark latté and it's organic! It's always busy here, so you may have to wait a little while before you get to ingest your caffeine, but it's worth the wait. And you can sit outside, with your coffee, and watch the sailboats go by. What could be better?
