Agree with all the 5 star reviews on here. It is SO hard to find a good vet clinic, and the fact that it's a hospital is a total bonus (emergencies or sudden food needs and you're a-ok).

ALL of the employees here are extremely caring, pleasant and understanding. I can't tell you how many times I've called and poured my heart out about the difficulties I face (with a special needs animal) and every vet assistant is patient, calming and totally amazing.

Dr. Lyons is also a wonderful professional (not discounting anyone else, I've just only had experience with her).

If you want to go somewhere and not be rushed, have fair evaluations of your animal, and have a place that can work with you and your budget (because let's face it, some of us just can't pay $1500 for a diagnosis), then you have got to take your pet to Bloor Animal Hospital.

I wouldn't go or recommend anywhere else.

I wanted to make sure I sent in a review of this place, as they've been amazing with both of our cats. We live in the Annex but we travel to Jane and Bloor anyway, as they're worth the travel.

One of our cats passed away in 2008 and the staff were amazing through the entire ordeal. She was a very sick cat, but they did everything they could for her, and were very honest about her prognosis through everything.

Our other cat has polycystic kidney disease and they've done so much to help him, even going so far to discuss his condition with other vets who have more experience with PKD to get advice on medication doses and so on. PKD is one of those things where often owners will not be able to pay for the cat's care (or the disease is far advanced so the cat passes away before anyone even knows what is wrong), so it's not too often that vets would see cases of it that need management. Recently he had to be hospitalized for two days and the vet team called twice a day to update us on how he was doing. They also call periodically just to see how he's doing generally, and remind us if he's due for more tests. Keeping track of all his tests can be tricky sometimes, so we appreciate that!

We've dealt with all of the vets here and most of the techs, assistants and receptionists and everyone has been wonderful.

Highly recommended if you need a vet!

If you spot any girls in scrubs walking dogs about Bloor West Village, it's a good bet they're from Bloor Animal Hospital. They take good care of various animals, although my mom's cat wasn't thrilled to come back after he got neutered here--can't really blame him for that, though.

The waiting area here is a good place to chat up other pet owners (and compare critters). They also have a useful bulletin board for pet-related news: lost and found pets, homes for kittens and puppies, that sort of thing.

I think we found a veterinary practice in Toronto that we really like, despite several false starts.  They are caring, very knowledgeable, thorough, don't seem to overprice, and best of all, they have emergency hours.  I would highly recommend them to dog and cat owners in the area.

This is not my vet but I had to take my dog here on a Sunday of a long weekend.  First of all it was open on a Sunday which my normal vet is not.  I called in the morning and got an appointment 2 hours later.  My dog was sick and even though they are not my normal vet they were very thorough and didn't up sell me at all on any "bloodwork" as vets normally do.   The vet (i wish i could remember her name) was very honest and did not rush at all.  It was a good experience and did not cost as much money as anticipated.   In the end it turns out my dog was just faking it and seemed to be right back to normal after I spend time and money on the visit.

This place is OK, they did the standard vaccinations no problem, but they tended to push a bit to expensive options as mandatory. I think they get enough volume from the area that when they came upon things that looked different (like my pets' international vaccination history), it took  them some adjusting. No one was rude, but my other vet place does a more careful job of observing and explaining options.  These guys are just OK. I *Love* another place I've found.
