This is my Blenz.
Located at the intersection of two of Vancouver's most bizarre streets - Granville and Davie - an unsuspecting visitor may think they've stumbled into the nexus of the universe. But no, it's just a cute coffee shop with nice people and exceptional brew.
The interior is roomy and you can always find a seat (unlike my other beloved coffee competitor, JJ Bean), and this place boasts a people-watching extravaganza almost unrivalled in the city.
And honestly, the coffee really is quite good. Their decaf espresso is bold, smooth and satisfying without the tiniest hint of an acrid or burnt flavour... you know, like that OTHER coffee chain.
If they didn't charge almost $3 for a tea, they'd get 5 stars no problem. -

Although this Blenz is the only coffee shop that has space for me on this rainy Saturday I still don't feel comfortable in here.
It's kind of a Granville thing - the vibe is def. interesting, and not the good kind. The space is cavernous, in an unappealing way. The music today was loud, "echo-y" and kind of unrefined. Not peaceful.
KEY POINT: always seems to have space here for you and 10 of your friends...
As long as they aren't picky, this is the Blenz for you

There is always a seat available, or two, anytime of the day or night. It is also a great place to people watch if you sit at the bar area near the window facing Granville and see all the drunken men and women stubble by. Or equally as comfortable if you get a chair and cozy up in the corner. And the best part? The staff don't linger around you *cleaning* or *tidying up* to make you feel like you've been there for too long.
I don't really buy any of their specialty drinks anymore. I have tried their chillo's, iced teas, and other specialty drinks but they taste far to artificial to me. People say their coffee is good, but I beg to differ as I drink it black and it tastes bitter! However if you need the coffee, get the dark roast. I stick to tea lattes, and they have never failed at steaming the milk hah. All of their pastries are sub-par, the best thing on their menu are probably the ginormous cookies (feel them first, do not buy if they aren't soft!), but sometimes they have daily pastries which are worth a shot.
The music here is not as loud as other locations, and it's not as congested, so you can actually get some studying or work done if you tried too.
The silly thing about all Blenz coffee shops is that you need a code to access the internet. With Waves and Starbucks this is never an issue. Every two hours the code expires, and then you have to get a new one! I have only *ever* had to get two codes haha.
If you need to use the bathroom, you need to be buzzed in at many of the locations, so ask upfront.
Remember if you are a student you can buy the SPC card, use it here and automatically up-size your drink for free! I always have mine, but they rarely ask to see it. ;] -

Laptop camper here. Founded in Vancouver, Blenz is now a large chain with many locations in Vancouver. All locations offer free wi-fi. I noticed some serous laptop camping going on. Chairs are comfortable, plugs are plentiful but wi-fi access is limited to 2 hours.
The cases are filled with sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal cups, croissants, bagels, parfaits, dessert bars, samosas, etc.
* Latte: grew cold very quickly, flavor decent but not rich. They have signs about how their latte art but I wasn't impressed with what I received.
It's a spacious place, open and contemporary in design. The TV is tuned to sports (hockey of course).
You know you love me. X0 X0, laptop camper.Listed in: Confessions of a Coffeeaholic, Canada, I love you

How many Blenz-ers does it take to make an iced tea? The answer is an astonishing FOUR! One to add the ice, one to read the directions from a book, one to say "shake, shake, shake" and one to say "no, no 7 pumps." Yick! I can't believe I actually drank that $4.50 iced tea! It was a bitterly sour black tea with lemon syrup. I've had this very drink at other Blenz...and it's always been a good sweet/sour balance, but this was just a yick!
A fresh coat of paint, new furniture, new bar, new owners, management and staff but still the same let downs as I had prior to the renovations at this Blenz. At least now, the holes in the walls are gone and they do have staff working...once there were customers in the shop and no one working. They'd left to buy a bag of ice.
They only re-opened on Friday and I've already been in twice. I'm hoping it's just "newbie" coffee jitters, but I won't be actively seeking out my caffeine jolts from here anytime again soon. -

This coffee store's location is excellent... right smack in the middle of Vancouver.
Free wifi for 2-hours at a time. Ask the cashier for the code. You gotta open a web page and log-in using the code and then you are all set to surf... awesome for visitors (ahem, me) getting your GPS maps.
I donno about the coffee tho... I still like Starbucks better. ;-) -

While a tourist in Vancouver, my friends and I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat for breakfast/coffee so this was the spot due to convenient proximity to our hotel.
I'm not a coffee drinker like they are, so I can't comment on that . But I can tell you the yogurt parfait is really good. They offer Odwalla orange juice, always a good bet. The sweet/banana bread is good too.
The place is nice and clean, and the service is friendly. Good spot for a morning pick-me-up. -

Best coffee shop on Granville to people-watch the late night crowds on Friday and Saturday nights, midnight - 2PM! It's well-located for this as it's just around the corner from the popular post-club food hub with Fritz, Numero Uno and the Chinese window. Watching the clubbing crowds post-party always makes for some amusing / ridiculous entertainment!

I'm not impressed with Blenz. The girl was friendly but the guy was kind of passive aggressive because the water he gave me was cold and I wanted him to get me more that wasn't. They give you free internet but you have to keep logging in with a strange passcode. Ok, I get it, they don't want anyone to steal their internet, fine, but it's kind of annoying when you're trying to Yelp about how much they suck and it keeps bugging out! The fruit chillaxo drink or whatever it's called is pretty gross. Very artificial. I like how they have open air seating though! Those big windows that open are a great feature and are one of the only reasons keeping this rating above a fail. Needless to say, I wouldn't come back here.
