Review from Donnette T.

I have used Black's twice in the last month for passport photos, and both times I first went to McBain's Camera (just a few steps away), but didn't get the photos done at McBain's because they didn't know what they were doing. I tried McBain's first, since I had gone there before for passport pictures, and I'm basically lazy and didn't want to learn a new routine at a new place.Anwyay, when I got to McBain's, they told me that I needed to go home and get them something from the Internet with dimensions and that without that they couldn't take the pictures. It seemed to me like they had Internet there at McBain's, and if they really wanted me as a customer, they could look up the information for me. But apparently they didn't need my business, so I moseyed on over to Black's Photography and asked if they knew what size was needed for US passport pictures, and they said that they had that information on file. When our whole family needed passport-type photos again for a different reason, once again, I tried McBain's first (because I needed to meet my husband at the mall and he didn't know where Black's was), was told by the McBain's guy that they didn't know what they were doing and they refused to take any pictures until we went home and got the information. Again, Black's had the information on file. Again, we got our pictures done at Black's.
My husband noticed that McBain's charged him about triple what we paid at Black's. I can't think of a single reason to use anyone but Black's for passport pictures ever again. They were quick, cheap, and knew what they were doing. -

I found the worker here very helpful. I printed a lot of photos late at night and he even offered to stay late. They have good quality photos and their lab doesn't close until they close so you don't have to worry about not making the 1 hr time that is guaranteed by most places. I'll definitely be back.

Perhaps it was because I visited on Sunday afternoon?
The sales folks behind the counter were not real interested and kind of blasé with the answers or where else to look. Unfortunately they didn't have the camera accessory I was looking for..
Good thing there were other options in the mall. -

I've gone to Black's numerous times regarding my SLR camera and they've always been able to help. I feel comfortable when I go in because I know that they are experts.
I've bought digital picture frames here (one that was actually an alarm clock radio too) and haven't had any problems.
I do find them to be more expensive than a place like Best Buy, but Black's is a professional photography store so I understand why.
I've never had a problem here! -

Black's is the only professional photography store you can find in Southgate. They have a good selection of point-and-shoot as well as DSLR cameras with accompanying lenses. I like how these lenses are displayed on their glass cabinet outside so I can easily window shop. That being said, I found their selection to be about the same as what I could find at London Drugs, and less than McBains or Don's photo.
Their prices are also more expensive than other competitors as well. Even with their sales, I found the prices to be about the same as the regular price from other retailers.
I was here on the weekend and the store was somewhat busy. Still, there was not much room to move around, and I never got helped. Part of the problem could have been that I could not identify who was working there and who was a customer. -

My boyfriend and I went in here to get 25 copies of a photo for his hockey team. The guy who helped us out was so helpful and friendly.
We were discussing what we needed and how much it would cost and he reassured us that he would do whatever he could to cut the cost. In the end he saved us $80.00 and gave us a gift card to come back and spend later.
We will definitely be back here to do all of our photo finishing. I will not go back to London Drugs or Wal-Mart. The love just isn't there like it is for Black's. -

I needed to get some passport photos done since my old passport just expired. I walked into Black's without making a reservation. They took 2 minutes to take the pictures, and told me to come back in thirty minutes. I walked around the mall for half an hour, came back to the store and boom, there they were. Decent price too. Quick and easy, no complaints here.
