Review from Emma L.
Gorgeous old school British pub feel. Huge menu with a variety of options. We came here when I was visiting some folks on the island because my boyfriend wanted pasta and the rest of us wanted anything else. At the Blackfin, everyone can get what they want!
He ended up getting fish and chips instead -- giant pieces of halibut with a good amount of fries. I had the wild mushroom-stuffed chicken with garlic mashed potatoes. Those mushrooms were delicious, and there were huge chunks of roasted garlic in the potatoes. Yum. Our hosts had the schnitzel (excellent) and the Moroccan lamb shank which was apparently as amazing as it smelled. Mm.
Decent wine list. Friendly, attentive staff. Decent prices. I've been told the view is fantastic, but alas, it was a little dark when we were there. I'd love to come back for lunch in the summer and check out the view.Listed in: Get outta town

To be totally honest I was disappointed. I expected typical pub food that was a bit better than the average place. I ordered a small spinach salad, which was $10, and it was tiny and wilted.
Our server was run off her feet, which was evident by the fact that she forgot my beer three times. I'd have been happy to tip and order more beer but instead I got sass when I asked for my beer for the third time.
The burger looked good and so did the lamb shank. -

Just happened to find this gem! Luckily we arrived ahead of the crowd as we didn't have reservations on a Friday night. Great food, view & ambiance. Will be back.

a Fri evening in mid May found me walking along the Comox Marina wharf.
Deciding where to go for a brew and bite took me over to the BlackFin Pub.
No wait at this time, it was close to 7pm, allowed us to obtain a table by the window for a view of the sunset and harbour.
Salmon was great, veggies done perfectly.
Haddock was declared Good, but not as good as previous on an earlier visit.
The Stella and Coronas though were complemented by a B52 coffee drink to finish a lovely evening in Comox. -

We got directed here by the local folk, and i have to say the view is stunning. This kind of has the fancy pub feel which sometimes can be confusing.. but nothing like carpet in a pub to show it's real age! I ordered the Halibut burger and for $14 served with fries. I would have to say it was good. The fish was excellent, but the bun was to massive and i ended up ditching it anyways. French fries were yummy.
Surprisingly they only had a few beers on tap..i usually like more options. -

Stopped in for lunch on a sunny Friday afternoon but sat inside as my girlfriend's father has some odd aversion to sitting on patios despite the excellent weather.
The food was typical pub fare, it was good but nothing outstanding or mind blowing. I had the Oyster burger which was okay but I think I had three or four bites of my sandwich before I encountered anything that resembled an oyster. The fries were thick cut and nice and fresh, and the rest of the family seemed to enjoy their meals.
The decor was nicely finished and the servers were all friendly and attentive. The music on the other hand made me feel like I had been trapped in an elevator from the 70's. The beer was nice and cold, and perhaps the next time I'm in Comox we'll be able to enjoy it outside on the patio. -

Dinner for seven on the deck hosted by the VIREB in advance of a meeting of conservationists and developers!!! Sunset over the Beaufort Range, calm waters in the harbour, Kim Crawford's Sauvignon Blanc and an Australian Shiraz led to a variey of entrees with great reviews. I had the Jack Daniels ribs. Dessert was popular, exceeding the chocolate quota. A busy Monday night is all you need to know about how good the BlackFin is.
