A few expats have been visiting Florence here at Bla Bla Coup' and all of us have had great experiences. For $46, it is well worth it to get your cut here.
Located on the Plateau, it is a small, but super cute salon. Florence came from France 10 years ago and fell in love with Montreal, and opened her own shop. Her style is a bit more funky, but she will listen to what you have to say. I spoke to her in french, so I don't know the level of her english, but think others have had no problems in english
I came in and asked for bangs, and got so many compliments on my hair the next day I gave her phone number to 4 people. I highly recommend her. -

A forewarning : I'm the kind of gal who has had very little luck finding a good hairdresser, probably due to a combination of being a little picky on my end (but who isn't when you're spending $50 + on a cut?!) and a lack of skill set on the hairdressers' part. Let's get on with it, shall we?
After reading other reviews posted on yelp, I decided to visit the salon. The owner wasn't available, so I was given an appointment with one of the other two stylists.
Now, I'm not sure exactly what this new trend of dry cuts is (I came across the same technique in a Toronto salon), and I'm not sure that I like it. Don't get me wrong- if it helps the stylist to cut better, I'm all for it, but not when the entire salon experience doesn't include a wash (especially when your hair ain't so fresh when you go in there as you decided not to wash it that morning since you'd be getting a cut anyway..). Not looking to get über pampered, just to have that salon hair smell (and clean hair) when I leave : )
Summary:
Cut: All in all, an ok cut. The stylist took into consideration the texture of my hair, but left some scraggly ends.
Ambiance: Chill place, good tunes, very friendly.
Bang for my buck?
Cut cost (taxes in, gratuity extra) $53.
Included: a brief consult, final styling using a flatiron.
Did not include: wash
Total time:app. 35 minutes
Verdict: *** out of ***** A-OK! -
