Came to Birth Source today for the first time at the recommendation of my Mommy friends.

I came specifically in search of a carrier for babywearing my son.  I already have a ring sling but was looking for a carrier that would take my son into the toddler years.

Tracy was super helpful and assisted me in trying on a Mei Tei Babyhawk carrier.  We tried two varieties and in both front and back positions with my son.

My toddler daughter enjoyed playing in the kids area - complete with a kitchen, crawl thru tunnel, marbleworks castle, and books galore! Not to mention the other kids, too!

I was also pleasantly surprised at their Nursing Bras and was impressed that they carried cup sizes up to K/L.

The dressing room was spacious and Tracy was helpful in ensuring proper fit of everything - Super important to a breast feeding mom so that milk production isn't hindered and so that nursing is comfortable!

Ahem... My toddler was also having some attitude issues today and required a timeout - lack of sleep for the whole family with a sick baby doesn't make for public worthy behavior :-(

Never the less, Birth Source, made our 1.5 hour visit today quite comfortable with kid friendly play areas, family accessible washroom, chairs to breast feed my son, and excellent customer service!

I'm so happy to have discovered Birth Source and look forward to returning!

*I uploaded a bunch of pictures of the store including their awesome cloth diapering/training pants section, baby carriers, nursing bras, play area, and even their workshop space!  If you are a mom to be or a new mom, check out Birth Source for all your babying needs from cloth diapers to Baltic amber teething necklaces!

Birth Source is more than just a shop for baby gear.  Yes, they have all sorts of natural and organic products for pregnancy through early childhood.  But when you walk in, you know right away that you are not dealing with teenagers working for minimum wage (not that there is anything wrong with teens earning money).  At Birth Source, you are dealing with employees who have much wisdom and experience with birthing and parenting.  I first came to Birth Source for one of their Meet a Doula Nights, and thus found a doula to accompany me through the birth process.  Today, I went into the shop to buy a baby carrier.  The sales woman, a doula herself, spent nearly an hour with me and my partner, helping us to try on various baby carriers and pick out the one that is right for us.  What fun it was to see my sweetie holding the doll as he practiced strapping it into the carrier!  And what personal attention from the sales staff!  We also got advice on baby wipes, diapering, etc.

Birth Source holds regular workshops on various topics ranging from babywearing to child first aid to infant massage.  The store has a play area for older children while mom or dad shops.  Also, the store has a website with mail order business, providing products for pregnancy and parenting for families all over Canada.
