I went to Binh's Nails on Victoria Trail on a Friday afternoon with a friend on mine. We were approached right away and told them we both wanted a manicure and a pedicure. The lady who was a tad difficult to understand asked us to pick colors and then have a seat in the big comfortable massage pedicure chairs.
A regular pedicure costs $35.00 and was mediocre. They file and cut the cuticles, a light callus scrub, some exfoliant rubbed on your legs and some lotion rubbed on, but there wasn't much of a foot massage which I was disappointed in because my friend said she got an amazing foot and leg massage and I was really looking forward to it. I have been to nail salons like this before and had excellent foot massages and paid less! But that was the only complaint i had about the pedicure.
A regular manicure costs $20.00 and all i got was a filing (that left my nails uneven) and a cuticle trim and a polish...this time I got no lotion or hand rub at all while my friend did!! I was very disappointed in the inconsistency between estheticians. When we were picking colors the lady who greeted us insisted on trying 'crackle' nails which we were excited for because of all the hype over them but when they were done we were a bit disappointed in the end. It seemed our estheticians didn't know how to do them and were kind of just winging it! They came out uneven (some nails whiter then others) my friend had some nails that were white and done perfectly and one that looked just like a nail with purple polish on it. Mine turned out pretty good but the next day the tips darkened ... not sure what that was about but i was a little disappointed.
What I was impressed with is the modern decor and the fact it didn't smell like the acrylic nails in there (other places i've been just reek of fake nails and its hard to stand!)
None the less you get what you pay for....sort of, i guess it depends on who you get!!
