Firstly this is a consignment store, not a vintage shop. Everything is new or next to new and in fashion - now!

Secondly, this is a great little store, I've picked up many little designer goodies including my new favorite pair of pants, a pair of Betsey Johnson jeans. Everything is in perfect or near perfect condition, and the store is clean and well organized.

Recently tried to consign some clothes. I had stuff like Mexx, lululemon, ORB, Guess etc-didn't have any H&M or Joe Fresh which they do have in store.
I was told they could not accept anything because they were trying to switch over to higher end lines like Prada. WHERE does it say that on the website? And when you have LOTS of crappy labels already, i find it hard to believe what I had was not high end enough. Plus the sales girl could have told me that before I gave it to her-after she rudely told me "We don't except items on Sundays. But I guess I can my an exception.
Finally I noticed that a dress from Banana Republic was $68. What? I can get a new dress from Banana repbulic on sale for that price. And what is with selling higher end jeans for $100. Have you never of heard of Beyond the Rack? New for the same price.
Sorry but I won't be back to ever consign my Prada items nor shop for that matter.

Yesterday I needed a jean jacket for Stampede. So during my lunch I headed to Better On You Consignment to see if I could find one.

I have walked by this little shop many times on my way to work and have always wanted to go in. I'm just sorry I didn't go in earlier!

This little shop is a mini style haven. Not only did I find a really cute Baby Phat jean jacket for a reasonable $30 (after my 25% discount) but there seemed to be an excellent selection of designer consignment to choose from.

The owner has obvious eye for style and has packed her store with everything from vintage Armani to Miss Sixty, funky bags and chunky jewelry to simple shirts and slacks; with more time, I was bound to find some gems in this shop besides last-minute jean jackets.

I'd like to go back and try on the BCBG dress I saw in the window...and maybe while I'm there I can pick up a funky Prada bag too...

I went here in the summer after reading all the reviews, thinking that it might be an all right place - and in some ways I suppose it's somewhat adequate. There were too many outdated items not really in season for this decade - and I do recall that the owner wasn't very friendly or helpful. I don't think I'd go again unless every single other consignment store in Calgary shut down. It was terribly disappointing, and I do think that other consignment stores offer much, much better selection.

As far as vintage shops go, I'm a fan. I'm not a huge vintage hunter, I've got a hard to fit body and when I fall in love with clothes, I fall hard. If the item doesn't love me back, I get all disappointed. This store is organized expertly, and the staff have no problems helping out. I'm not always a fan of the selection which skews a little towards "grandma" at times (and not in the good way) but if you have the patience you can find some little gems without having to go through all the other sizes.

It doesn't hurt that I got my favourite sunglasses (pre-red ray bans) here. They were big bedazzled Jackie O glasses, and they were ridiculous. Any store that sells sunglasses like those is required by law to have some good points.

Unfortunately, I had the most disappointing experience with the store and the store owner. My 42 items of consignment disappered somehow from the store and the store owner just ignored my pleading and never return my phone calls. I would not recommend dealing with the 'Better on you" store.

Last night during an adventurous Yelping Expedition, I came across 'Better On You'.

You ALREADY know that I don't LOVE vintage shops. You also know that I don't LOVE hunting for clothes. That's why I completely appreciated this store. Katic C. is right - their clothes are organized expertly. The staff was ouber helpful when I found something I liked but needed a different size. The service at Winners and Value Village has got nothing on the service at Better On You!!!

Although I did end up leaving the store empty handed, I did make a mental note that if I ever DO need to buy vintage-type clothing, I'll head to Better On You well before I head to its competitors. Organization scores hella points in my books, as does helpful service. It's just better at Better On You.
