Where do you get an exciting and fun Chocolates in town?
This is it! Modern progressive pastry... Only place you can get in this town...
Why is it exciting about this place?
Consistent, great quality, great price, dairy free, using sustainable items...
Remember this is not some factory made items it's all hand crafted and there is limited portions so as items are seasonal accordance so if you want certain items you would want to get it fast otherwise you will have to wait.
I've had truffles, dairy free popsicles, and cocoa covered dried fruits, nuts... great taste and you can feel good about it since all the dried fruits are from local farm... and also chocolate itself is Fairtraded item!
How about that?
No one does all this creative items in Vancouver, only Beta5 offers this unique items in this city!
and also award-winning marmalades!
Great place to be! -

* Yuzu marshmallow too! *
Yes, yes, I know they specialize in a "unique Beta 5 chocolate method." Got it. Check. Is that any different from the normal chocolate tempering process other than putting big words on it?!?!?? Anyhoo......The chocolate is good. Check.
But on my latest visit I spotted something I hadn't seen from them before - yuzu marshmallow. What a lovely treat!
The strong yuzu flavour combined nicely with the perfectly made little pillow cube. 50 cents a pop. Could become a dangerous addiction!Listed in: Dentists' Dreams in Vancouver

This. Is. Love.
I am officially wooed.
You don't expect what you're going to get when you accidentally stumble upon Industrial Ave (hello Garden Party, I was trying to find you! http://www.yelp.ca/biz...) And while I don't mind telling you about what's in store, I don't want you to be sharing too far and wide -- afterall, this is an artisan chocolate shop. Okay. Enough with the innuendo.
If you want to experience a true chocolate sensation - Beta 5 must make it to your tongue. Marmalades made from the Meyer lemon ilk tease you, but you know what you're really there for: tobacco infused chocolate. That's right. Tobacco. But wait, there's more. Marcona almonds, caramelized and coated in dark chocolate; Agassiz, BC hazelnuts coated in cocoa (they taste the way I wish malt balls could taste) and chai flavoured almonds...
Our chocolate purveyor, Adam, doled out sweet-gasmic mango caramels as he told us about the chocolate workshops they host to teach curious chocolate lovers how to hand paint their creations. Should I go back for one of these? Oh my, yes.
When all was said and done, we had walked away giddy on what came next -- tucking into our haul of chocolatey spicy nuts. And yes, they were better than we thought they would be.Listed in: Chocoholics Guide to Chocolate…

And this, my friends, this is what happens when passion, art, love, chemistry and *mad* skill come together to make chocolate. Pure, unimaginably divine, gorgeously crafted chocolate. This is Beta 5.
Introduced to these pretty little bites of cocoa bliss at Pecha Kucha in November, I instantly fell for their careful blend of science and craftsmanship. These chocolates are not only made from ethically sourced, premium ingredients, but are stunning to look at. Hand-painted and indescribably rich, the end product is perfect. Entirely, flawlessly perfect in every single smooth bite.
After a visit to their industrial-like shop (appropriately located on Industrial Avenue), I fell even harder. These folks are kind and passionate about what they do. And the packaging? Good lawwwd, it is GOOD. Understated and simple it only enhances the beauty of the product that lies within.
Thank you, Beta 5. Thank you for bringing such excitement to not only my eyes, but my tiny little taste buds too.Listed in: FTRs!, Sweet Things

I have a lot of respect for small business owners that take the leap to start something. Beta 5 is lovely. Their chocolates taste amazing and the packaging is simple and elegant. They have packages you can order monthly that you can pick up or can be sent anywhere in Canada. We bought some Easter eggs that are delicate and delicious, filled with chocolate covered pistachios. The chai almonds were yummy too. Check their website to see where you can buy it, or go to their retail/kitchen location close to Terminal Station. Any one of their items would make a great gift.
