Review from Erik S.

OMG! I can't believe I am giving 5 stars. For those who are familiar with my reviews, this is definitely out of the ordinary.
I have made several large purchases from this store in the last few weeks and I have to say, on every occasion I am impressed.
First of all, the service is incredible. The staff do not work on commission and perhaps that's the secret to their success. They stick with you and answer all of your questions. If they don't know the answer, they will do whatever they have to do to get you the right one. Example... I wanted to know if the Harmony One remote control would work with my Xbox 360. They looked online and spoke to several people and came up with a solid answer. They didn't rest though until they had several positive answers, so it's not like they stopped as soon as someone said yes.
I wanted to buy a TV and the only one left was the demo model... They gave it to me at a ridiculously good price and guaranteed it for 4 years!
Lastly, I wanted a new laptop. When asked which one was the best bang for the buck, they went to each computer and checked the specs. They involved the HP and Microsoft reps and ended up taking me to a couple different selections. Even though the HP rep was with me the whole time, we both honed in on an Acer and agreed that it was the best value.
I would send anyone here to get their newest toys. The prices are great, the people are amazing and you WILL leave happy. They guarantee it! -

Why do I keep shopping here....
I now see benefits to the consumer to shopping at places that have a commission sales staff.
Best Buy doesn't not operate on commission, which means most of their staff doesn't care if you buy or not. Nor do they care if they provide you with any level of service whats so ever.
Twice I have walked in knowing exactly what I wanted to purchase and had they hardest time finding someone willing to take my money for their product. (Flat screen TV, Ipod)
They staff seems more concerned with chatting with each other than providing you with any knowledge other than whats printed on the spec tag attached to the product.
They do have a good selection and prices are very comparable, but make sure you already know what you want and have done the research ahead of time. -
Review from Paula K.
I am not one to gush over big box stores, but Best Buy is making me break my own rule. This is the original Edmonton location. I bought a computer here a few years ago. There was something wrong with it, so I brought it back and it was replaced. It turned out there was something wrong with that one also, and I decided to go a different route and have a computer built instead of purchasing a pre-made one off the shelf. I brought the computer back and explained that I did not want another one, and they gave me all of my money back. Plus, in the meantime, the service department tried really hard to help me out with my computer woes. The customer service was overall excellent, despite it being such a huge store serving so many people. I would definitely make a major purchase from there again.
