guac guac guac! after eating the table side guacamole here, I can't seem to find a restaurant that can compare to it. its delicious! I come here quite often and always bring out of town guests to this restaurant. Besides the guac, I often, if not always, get the enchiladas suizas as well and share a salad. The portion sizes are somewhat on the larger size here and so I always leave extremely stuffed.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and informative. The decor and ambiance is "authentic" looking can get a bit crowded during the night. Besides that, great place!

Getting 2 stars because of charging us $7 for Iced Tea??????????????

In Long Island but Not a Long Island Iced Tea.  What a joke.  It comes in a patron bottle and is enough for 2-3 glasses but when someone orders an iced tea or a soda they are not expecting $7.
AFter tax and tip that is like $10 for Iced Tea? Holy Guacamole!

    The food is good though!

I'm upgrading them to three stars after giving them another chance. My service was much better, although I still think the food is disappointing for the price.

When you spend $19 on steak tacos, you should get more than a smallish plate of fixins and five silver dollar-sized flour tortilla shells that become very messy, which isn't the best circumstance at a wannabe trendy place like Besito.

If you go, I would suggest going on a weekday when the crowds aren't too crazy. I enjoyed the ambience much more on a Wednesday night than I did on my previous Friday night visit.

The reviews are a little mixed on yelp so I was skeptical, but I finally tried Besito and loved it.

We went on a beautiful spring day when all of the doors of the restaurant were open so that it had an open-air feel. They have many tables on the sidewalk as well as an absolutely gorgeous interior. I loved the lighting, the photos, and all the details.

We had the highly-recommended tableside guacamole-delicious!  I had the salmon manchmanteles. Very different but in a good way. It was sweet, almost tropical with pineapple pico de gallo and plantains.  SO good! My husband had the shrimp over mashed boniato (sweet potatoes) and loved that as well.

The service was great-helpful but not intrusive. The prices are more than most people are used to paying for "Mexican", but the dishes are more involved than a typical taco so I think it is definitely worth the money.  Go and try something different!

Went here for restaurant week and to our surprise, we were able to order anything on the menu, instead of the typical 3 choice entrees all restaurants offer.  The menu was a little confusing, as it had many words I saw for the first time, Chihuahua cheese?? and had to ask a lot of questions.  The crispy chicken tacos were the best I have ever had.  Entrees were good, she had enchilada, which was a little bland, and I had a chicken breast which sat on a bed of diced vegetables.  The entrees came with rice and a paste of black beans.  Desert was the reason why I gave a 4 star rather than a 5.  The Mexican chocolate pudding was rich and had a Cinnamon taste to it.  But Besito made up for it by giving us churros and cute miniature figurines at the end.

Margaritas are simple and delicious--fresh ingredients and there is no need for any sour mix or additives. I'm a vegetarian and when asked about additional entrees, they brought me a wonderful squash and zucchini burrito with a roasted corn sauce. Not to mention the churros that come with the check! Will definitely come back for future dinners.

Besame, Besito! (yes, I realize that this translates to "Kiss me, [Little] Kiss!" which is ridiculous).

From the moment my party of three walked into Besito to the time we left, we were all pretty dang impressed with the place. For one, the atmosphere was perfect for a Friday evening meal -- lively without ever being so loud as to induce screaming across the table.

Now, onto the main event, the meal itself.

First stop - the adult beverages. For the first round (yes, there were obviously multiple) we ordered two of the "Besito Patron" margaritas and a traditional mojito. The margaritas were the star players here, though they were a bit tart for our tastes. The mojito, I've got to admit, was a bit of a disappointment but to be fair, I also hold my mojitos to impossibly high standards.

For the next round, my party members ordered the "Partida Natural" margarita with agave nectar for added sweetness and we had a winner. Sadly, I could not partake as I was playing DD that night but my one sip was damn tasty and had my mouth watering for more.

Second stop? The food. Oh, the food.

We started with the guacamole which, much to my surprise and delight, is made fresh to order... much to my chagrin though, the "spicy" guacamole barely had any heat at all. It was tasty, just without a kick.

Our entrees were met with mixed reviews and I think the lesson we learned about Besito was skip the tacos -- they come out fajita style but without all the fun stuff -- and head straight into the enchiladas y budins section of the menu. My meal - the
Budin de Marisco, a tortilla pie with shrimp and crab meat - was PHENOMENAL. Like, I would eat it every day and wish I had one sitting in front of me right now. If you like seafood and you like some kick, GET THIS. So good.

The other menu item at the table that evening was the enchiladas suizas which I've been told were also amazingly good. Clearly, one of Besito's strengths is its mastery of sauces.

If you're in Huntington Village - or Roslyn or West Hartford, CT, apparently - definitely make a reservation and head over to Besito for dinner and a few drinks. You won't regret it.

Besito is a great place to go for both eating and drinks at the bar. This restaurant like many have already stated has a wonderful ambiance and decor. I personally dig the vibe and have gone for drinks, brunch, lunch and dinner. Every time was pleasurable. The food is solid, nothing spectacular but the drinks and extras such as the table side quac and apps well make the experience worth it.
PS. Try one of the tequila flights its a good time!

The atmosphere is nice and elegant . The restaurant is nicely designed and dimmed, so it is like a candle light dinner. Very nice for a date. I went with 7 people and we made a reservation. They had the table all set up for us when we got there and did not have to wait at all. If you have a big party I highly recommend that you make one. I went on a Sunday night and the place was packed, that is how you know it is a good restaurant.

The guacamole is must. They make it right in front of you and it is very good. One of the best I have had. I have tried many things here the the steak tacos are very flavorful, the chicken enchelladas the one with the chicken (its the first one on the chicken part of the menu), the fish dishes are very good as well. The flavors in the meals are very well done. For dessert we got the pumpkin flan, which I thought was good, but it was too sweet for some people. The flan was not really smooth they must have over cooked it a little and didnt taste like pumpkin at all. The whip cream on top was nicely done. At the end of the meal they always give you churros with the bill. They come out warm, so it is a nice treat at the end, even though I thought they were kinda too oily and a little over cooked.

Overall it is a great restaurant!!

The first time I walked through this restaurant's curtained doors and sat down for a meal, I was knocked off my feet - I thought that restaurants with tastefully done decor and melt-in-your-mouth dishes existed only WITHIN Manhattan's borders. Boy was I wrong!

In fact, the quality of Besitos' dishes and inviting decor remind me of a certain NYC Mexican franchise but more genuine. I've been back to Besitos a number of times since I was first introduced to it back in December 2011 and I've been stuck on two dishes: Camarones Ajillo and Enchilada Barbacoa Y Chorizo. You ever "phantom-tasted"? (Phantom-taste - did I just invent a new term?!!) Phantom-tasting, you know, when your palette remembers or craves a certain flavor/dish? Yeah, I always phantom-taste Besitos dishes and it's usually one of the two above.

But Besitos does have a well-sized menu and to date, I've also eaten their off-the-cob roasted corn side dish (Balanced combination of sweet and salty), plaintain side dish (Not my favorite), tableside guacamole (I've tasted better but theirs good enough), nacho appetizer (Delicious and big enough to be a main course), and Mexican hot chocolate (Pretty darn tasty). In addition, their complimentary chips and salsa and churros are great. As for their beverage menu, I'm liking their Don & Ginger drink and recommend you try it.

If you're in the mood for good Mexican food but prefer to not dine in a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint, Besitos is for you. I recommend avoiding Friday and Saturday nights as they get busy and parking in Downtown is a pain. But if you want to practice your parking-spot-scoping skills, definitely make reservations and give yourself 20 minutes to look for a nearby spot. Buen Provecho!

    Appetizers
Tableside guac - definitely get it.  It can easily feed 3 people, so don't feel obliged to get the double portion if you have more than 2 people.
The fish tacos are also really good.

    Entrees
My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the pork taco dish.  There's something about the plantains that keeps me hooked on this.  I've had the short ribs, the scallop/shrimp dish, and fish of the day before, and they are all really good. Me or my girlfriend have never had a bad dish from here.

This is my goto restaurant if I'm going out to eat.  It isn't too expensive, and the food is just amazing.  Definitely check this place out

I've now been to this location 3 times. I love going for restaurant week because they put the whole menu up for me to choose from! And so far...everything is delicious.
I'm tired of plain tacos and enchiladas. Try their short ribs! And the budin de mariscos. poblano cream sauce? How could you go wrong? But, if you are lucky enough to catch it...pumpkin flan. Heavenly. Period.

As for reservations, I call a day or two ahead and I've never had a problem. They always seat me on time.

I will continue to go back. I keep suggesting it to everyone and anyone.

I've eaten at Besito twice now and loved both times!

Both times we had tableside made guacamole! How fresh and fun is that?!

First time I had a fish of the day dish with capers and olives and the perfect salt balance to the fish. DELISH! Last night, I had the steak tacos. LOVED the steak.  Amazing!

It's not your run of the mill Americanized taco "Mexican" food.

And you get fresh churros & worry dolls before you leave!

The food was very good. We got plantains and fresh guacamole to start. They guacamole is made to order, probably the best thing we ate. Chips were fresh. I was with two others and we all got tacos ( 2 chicken and 1 steak). Next time I go, I will make sure to order just appetizers because the meal was very costly.

Margarita with patron was perfect. Loved our waiter Lorenzo. Very passionate about his job! Also, the churros they give you with the bill was a nice treat.

One thing I didn't like was that I called 25 minutes before arriving asking if I would need a reservation (5pm on a Saturday), they said no and when I got there they told us we could only have a table for 1 hour. I'm sorry but when I am paying for a nice meal, I don't want to be rushed out of the restaurant.

Besito hits each of the 3 cylinders that can make any restaurant great. The ambiance, food, and service are all spectacular at Besito, which has been picked as the best Mexican restaurant on Long Island for 2 years in a row. I brought a party of 8 to Besito on a Monday night and we all loved it.

Ambiance: Romantic, authentic, and classy. You wont be disappointed with Besito if you are coming for a date as it is very dimly lit (don't worry they give you flashlights for the menu) and spacious. The interior was decorated impeccably and it is overall just a real elegant place to be in. 5/5

Food: The food is some of the best if not the best Mexican I have had. Everything may be a bit overpriced but the service and ambiance make up for it. One of the necessities for first timers is the tableside prepared guacamole; it is a marvel to watch as the waitresses make it with striking speed. For my entree I had the pechuga de pollo (chicken breast), which was well presented and delicious, the portions are fair as well. After you are done you are given free churros, which everyone loves. 5/5

Service: The service was spot on like everything else. In our party we had someone with celiac disease and the manager came over to explain the menu and what was safe. Our waitress was gorgeous just like all the other waitresses there. She was knowledgeable of the menu and attentive. Overall she did a great job... and she was sexy. 5/5

I went here twice. The decor was pretty cool. The food was excellent. The waitresses were Friendly and HOT. I took a girl here for our 1st & last date... Just have to say TY GOD the food was good and kept my attention =). This is a bit more of an upscale Mexican restaurant. Well worth the cost. For two people you are looking at about $60 range on your bill. There is parking on the street and a big parking lot in the back. It almost feels like a place you'd wanna be seen at... if you understand my meaning. Anyway, I had alot of fun both times I went. Yes, even though my date on one of the times wasn't all that interesting. Next time I come here will probably be to celebrate with friends or something along those lines. Its a good distance from where I live but it was worth the trip.

Best classic margarita on LI hands down!! If made with Cabo Wabo tequila like the boyfriend and I always do, it's a million times better!!!

Been here like 5 times since last year. I keep going for LI Restaurant week because you just can't beat the deal! For $24.95, you get to pick 1 appetizer, 1 entree and 1 dessert from almost anything on their menu. The only thing you CAN'T get is their guacamole. I suspect it's because that's what people love the most. (Isn't that always the case). But that matters to me none because the rest of the things on their menu are super yummy and to die for. My favorites: their red snapper tacos, the grouper, the short ribs and some corn concoction that's formed into the shape of an actual corn husk but mixed w/ all this yumminess that I can't even begin to figure out.

Ambiance - this has to be one of the stronger points of the restaurant as well. For LI, it's surprisingly lively and kinda chic, while also being pretty romantic and fun. This location is better than their Roslyn one for the same reason. Nestled right at the beginning of Huntington Village, it has all the makings of a hot spot restaurant - outdoor seating, candles, cozy booths and great service. The Roslyn location, on the other hand, is all too big and none too cozy, not to mention it's in a strip mall which is never cool.

Their drinks - as I said, classic margarita is hands down the best! If you don't like that though, they have a large assortment of other drinks as well, from wine to fruity martinis to flavored margaritas and things just on the rocks. I've tried several different ones and they're always made really well. Only downside I'd say is that they are pricey. At $12 a pop, 2 of these bad boys were almost equivalent to my $24.95 3-course meal.

All in all, this place is one of my faves. I don't go too often since I do like to try a lot of new places, but for LI, it's definitely one of the tops on my list.

Stopped by here for a business dinner with my colleagues.  Tuesday night and the place was super packed. We were a party of 5 and had a difficult time getting reservations at 6:30 for dinner on a Tuesday, so be forewarned.

    On to the food.

The guacamole is fresh and good, though I've had freshly made guac at Chevy's that was comparable.  Good, but not the best I've ever had.

To drink, I had the special margarita, which was absolutely fantastic. Super pricy, but still very good.

Entree, had the Alambre de Res with the mole sauce, medium rare.  Even when cooked medium rare, the steak was still a bit tough and not too juicy or flavorful.  The mole sauce was good, though.

Dessert was the Tres Leches.  Best part of the meal! Not too rich, and great texture.  Tres Leches is tough to pull off, so this was very well done.

Being from California, I wasn't too impressed, mostly because of the prices and service, but the food was still okay and the tres leches/margarita is enough to visit them again.

Though I guess the guac is a little outrageous.  It's a nite out, get use to it.
The margaritas are silly expensive, but that's the way restaurants work.

I HATE to write a negative review of this place.

I wanted to love it!   But alas,  I didn't.

The tableside prepared guacamole was delicious, and well worth the money, but dinner itself was pretty average.

My wife had a lobster dish that was drenched in sauce to the point where you couldn't distinguish any of the ingredients of the dish.    Why waste lobster when you won't even taste it anyway?!

I had their take on Chile Rellenos.   Now the flavor was good, but I was far from blown away by the dish.

Add the mediocre food to that the fact that the restaurant is loud and packed to the gills, to the point where I almost had to scream my order at the waitress for her to hear it,  and I was about ready to leave.

Too expensive and too crowded for the quality of food that you get.

    I'll pass.

Besito is Mexican food meets elegant dining. You'll love everything from the fresh-to-order table-side mashed guacamole to the deliciously prepared entrees.  Although a bit on the pricey side, the large portions and the authentic rustic ambiance make up for it.

I had the Tacos de Res; grilled skirt steak, melted Chihuahua cheese pico de gallo and salsas.  It came out piping hot and made just to my liking.  I paired it with a pomegranate martini which was just divine.

Our fiesta ended with some fresh and warm churros, a gratis, and some Mexican "worry dolls" to take home. Overall, I had a great experience and enjoyed the food.

So I decided to meet them to hang out knowing I wasn't going to order their once decent, now overly priced terribly bland Mexican/Spanish/Latin inspired dishes. I can't even eat here knowing that it's free !

They forced me to try a piece or 2 of what they ordered and here's why Besito STILL receives 1 star from me:

    - the guacamole was bland, salt content was good, but was missing the onions they usually put in
    - the Atun Crudo (Raw Tuna) was served warm. Who serves Tuna Raw  / sashimi style piss warm?! wtf?! Ew gross.
    - my buddy got the filet mignon (which I didn't try) but he said was overly stringy and not a particularly good cut of the tenderloin
    - Taquitos de Pescado - the snapper was fried which is NOT mentioned on the menu. The pickled onions completely overpower this appetizer and did not do any justice to the snapper. It leaves you wondering what this other mushy stuff is, in your mouth.
    - our waitress was useless and my buddy who's a huge dos equis drinker had to ask 6 times for a 3rd beer

The only things that Besito does well are:
+ their house made passion tea served in patron bottles with agave nectar on the side is still good
+ it's still a beautiful restaurant with good ambience

The vibe of the restaurant was intimate yet fast-paced and packed to the gills. If you are waiting for a table at the bar, be prepared to be stepped on if you are not sitting on a bar stool.

We originally had a reservation for 6 and the restaurant  requires you to hold the reservation on your credit card. They also made sure to tell you that you  couldn't linger at dinner for more than 2 hours. They explained that you could be seated at 7:30 but be ready because they would be reseating that table at 9:30.

We ended up with only 4 so we didn't rush through dinner. We were seated and served drinks with the mango margheritas hitting the spot. We were quickly given the option for table-side guacamole and got it at lightening speed. Before we were close to being done with it, our food arrived, making you wonder how fresh it all was. The food was your basic Mexican style, with little fan fare or anything to distinguish it from any other Mexican place. The enchiladas suizas were good, but nothing spectacular considering the price.
The wait staff was top notch and kept the drinks flowing.
I had the chocolate devils cake dessert,  which was mediocre at best. Overall the atmosphere was fun, but it was all a bit overpriced. Also be prepared to search for parking in that area of Huntington.

My girlfriend and I consistently find ourselves eating here week in, week out. The table-side-prepared guacamole is fantastic, and is definitely a must have for anyone dining here. Servers are always attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Even if you swear that Mexican food isn't really your style, you can still manage to find something on the expansive menu to quell the hunger.

Highly recommended! I have eaten here MANY times, and always leave satisfied. Especially if I've had some of those amazing margaritas.

    Still kicking it.

Besito is still going strong - and I still think it is overpriced for the type of food that you get.  On the other hand, I did have a really yummy goat cheese empanada but the table side guacamole left me feeling less than thrilled.

As I said before, good food, good drinks but overpriced.

    I AM GOING TO DIE!!!

I ate so much food that I feel that in any second I will explode in a million pieces...

You know that feeling... when the food is so good that you can't stop eating any of it...  yeap!  That's why I am going to die!

But it will be a happy death...

Again, the guacamole is superfab... the mushroom empanadas super delicious and the chorizo and beef enchiladas to die for!  It is one of those meals that every bite tasted better than the last one.

Service,as always, great and the fact that I was able to sit outside (sidewalk table actually) with the doggy by my side, made the evening complete.
