This is a good contemporary Italian restaurant & worth a try. The noise level is a little high but the service was excellent & so was the food.

Bertoldi's was pretty busy when we dropped in on a Saturday night. We didn't have reservations but were seated right away. Loved the fresh focaccia bread! I found the service to be a bit slow, it took 2 hours from start to end and we definitely were waiting on our server at times. The portion size is very generous. I had the ravioli and they were huge! It was pretty good. The atmosphere was rather dark, and loud but didn't seem to bother most people. I would recommend this a a place to go with friends or larger groups, not a romantic dinner type place.

I've eaten here almost a dozen times in three years. I've never had A bad meal ever. Service is quick and the portion size is just right.
Lovely ambiance and I like that the wait staff wear crisp white shirts and dark jeans. A great spot for a date or take your parents to celebrate their anniversary etc.
Have not tried the house made desserts though. -

been here to eat a dozen or more times. 90% of the time my meal was excellent. Sometimes when they are busy they can overcook your food.
The muscles are great. The veal can be excellent as long as its not overcooked. The Cappuccino creme brule is top notch. i love creme brule and they make a great one. Although I don't know if it is still on the menu. Sadly it was taken off for a while and may or may not have been put back on. -

Very nice restaurant.
We had the pleasure of sitting on the rooftop patio and it was PERFECT. The weather was nice, so it was definitely a great idea.
The prices were very reasonable, and the food was above average. I very much enjoyed the bruschetta with the goat cheese and arugula. The fish stew and the veal ossobucco was okay, but huge portions! We capped it off with the Tiramisu cake and some grappa. Heavenly!!
Another thing that deserves mention is that our waitress was incredibly friendly, personable and helpful.
If I'm back in the London area, I will go again! -

Bertoldi's always feels pretentious to me and it's hard to relax and enjoy myself. Get over yourselves - this is London Ontario! If I'm interested in Italian food I'd rather dine at nearby Fellini Koolini's because the seafood there is not overcooked and the ambiance is more intimate and fun. I think the menu here is overpriced and the portions are okay but none of the entrees really stand out for me. I thought maybe the seafood was their weak spot but when I tried the chicken it was dried out as well.
Things are generally better to look at than to actually eat here, but at least the bathrooms are clean. Parking is limited. -

Bertoldi's has a pretty slick looking dining area, and the prices are actually quite reasonable considering the ambiance and the quality of the food. They have parking outside. It's only a handful of spaces, so unless you're there during the mid-afternoon lull, you may have to park farther afield.
They have daily risotto specials which have been good every time I've tried them (it actually encouraged me to make my own risotto more often). One of the best bets for lunch is the personals-sized pizza with salad, which has enough of each for balance, but doesn't overwhelm with big portions that'll make you sluggish for the rest of the day. -

Felt like an upscale chain restaurant. The ambiance was nice with soft lighting. That works for me when I travel.
The wine list was large with many by the glass choices. They also gave very good descriptions of the wine. Dining alone (traveling for business) I had a pizza and a glass of wine. I think the bartender that was serving me was disappointed at my small order or she was just not a happy person.
The pizza was different but still good. I had a prosciutto pizza and it seemed more like bacon (without the fat) than when I have had all over Italy called prosciutto. The sauce had flavor and the mozzarella tasted fresh. I think I should drink a lot of water tonight because it did seem a little salty.
I would return here if I pass this way again.
BTW There is outdoor seating and I would say this place is more casual than dressy but maybe because it was a Tuesday instead of the weekend. People were wearing shorts and tennis shoes. -

We walked in without reservations and were lucky to get a seat. The ambiance was warm and cozy. Our waiter was extermely friendly and was not afraid to recommend some of the dishes from the menu. We ordered the calamari salad which was a bit over done but the greens were crunchy and tasty. The main course the salmon and trouth were ok - nothing special about it. The cheese cake dessert was very rich and creamy. Overall our experience was pleasant and I would go back to try the other menu items.

I have been to Bertoldi's on multiple occasions (ie. graduation, birthday etc) for lunch and dinner. The food is amazing. They serve warm bread with vinegar and olive oil as an appetizer, but you can still order traditional italian appetizers (ex. Bruschetta). The main dining area is right by the stone/wood pizza oven, so you can actually see them make the pizza. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice, and so are the people. On one occasion, we ordered a brownie dessert. It took forever and when it came the brownie was rock solid, when we mentioned this to our waitress, she offered to get another one and take the charge off our bill.
A list of things I have tried/recommend:
TRADITIONAL BRUSCHETTA: good
FRESH BUFALO MOZZARELLA WITH VEGETABLES ON CROSTINI: very tasty!
CHICKEN PARMIGIANA SANDWICH (lunch): very good and very filling
pizza - MARGHERITA: good, but its something you can get at any italian retaurant
ROAST SALMON: really good, had it a few times
CHICKEN CAPONATA: one of my favourites, had it a few times
CHICKEN PARMIGIANA: classic and really good
TIRAMISU: ok, if you don't like a strong coffee tast then you will like this one
BROWNIE: tried twice, the first was good, the second time it was really hard and slightly burnt -

Great place. Not real Italian because they add ingredients that Italians really wouldn't but I suppose it appeals to a greater audience. The focaccia bread is AMAZING. The pollo al mattone is not good.

I haven't found many great reatauraunts in London but this one is pretty decent. I'd give it. 3.5 if I could. I ordered the steak, probably not the best choice in an italian restaurant but it was decent. A seeminly cheap cut of beef covered in tomato sauce, and served with mashed potatoes that were somewhat cold. Everyone elses food look pretty good, in retrospect I would have got the pasta as I did on a previous visit. Really enjoyed the salty bread with red wine vinegar and olive oil to start, and the service was good, the room was nice. Would indeed come back just likely skip to the steak. Price wise just slightly overpriced but still a decent value compared to dining in Vancouver.

The ambiance was great - very upscale.
The food was very good. We would have given a 5 stars, except for my pizza. It came with prosciutto, which I have had many times before. Unfortunately, here is was chunks of back bacon the size of a matchbook. Yuch!
My wife's and sister-in-law's seafood dishes were incredible. My teenage daughters shared the ravioli and loved it. -

I've been to Bertoldi's on numerous occasions and they have to the most inconsistent place I've ever been to. The first two times I went there, my dishes (roasted chicken and pancetta over pasta, gnocchi with a gorgonzola cream sauce) were absolutely fantastic. However, on other occasions, they've also served me burnt pizza, badly overcooked pasta swimming in so much sauce that I could only choke down a few bites, and a chicken dish that strangely tasted like a pastry. I also once waited nearly 40 minutes for dessert (a slice of cake) which I thought was rather ridiculous. My experiences have been a mixed bag for sure but at least there have been a couple of good ones.
