I dislike that there is information about Berghain on here. They do a lot of work trying to keep the mystery and the social engineering of this place what they'd like it to be.

I will say... It's off the chain, I love hard big room techno and I enjoy grooving tech-house and this place offers both. Techno in Berghain and house in Panorama Bar. This club is the hedonist's dream.

I've been allowed entry and denied for reasons that I can only guess, but that's just part of the social engineering. Your best bet is to either speak perfect German or go with a local... although I'd like to mention after dating a German girl for over a year I still wasn't able to speak for myself and be allowed in here. When I was with a local, it went quite smoothly.

Once you're in, god damn you're in for a surreal club experience. I won't allow myself to elaborate since I respect what they do here. Just have to say, "Wow"

    This is THE Techno Temple

Everyone raves about Berghain, until you realize Berghain is exactly that. It is one of those clubs that parties for days...  I actually slept in between partying and showed up at Berghain around 7am to party until 2/3pm. Day party you say - it's like the night never ended.
You rarely hang out with the people you go in with... and well, avoid the darker areas. Actually why, do it all! Eat icecream, make out with strangers, wear chains, swing, do the dirty - openly and let your kink side role.

This is probably the best club left in Europe, set in an old powerplant. It starts filling up at 2AM, and continues until you manage to leave. I have heard of people getting there on Saturday and leaving on Monday. Huge dance floors, amazing music, cheap drinks, and no lack of things that would be banned in the US, whether sex or drugs. Luckily no cameras are allowed. And the place has not a single mirror. Which can be a good thing.
If you are lucky enough to be the list, you will avoid a line that can stretch for hours. Some people get turned away, but if you're there to dance, you will get in. The main bouncer looks like Cyrus from 300 (also a world famous photographer) but don't let it scare you.
Basically, a must see before you die. I wish I could describe the things I experienced there, so you'll just have to see for yourself. Wowsers.

The best club I've been to.

In the middle of nowhere you will find a very long queue into an abandoned looking powerhouse building. The bouncers turn away every 2nd or 3rd person and you worry whether or not you would 'make it in'.

Super sound system. Awesome ambience with some alleys and 'booths', giant metal swing, I saw some guys in bondage. Most people aren't though.

Two sections - panorama bar and the main area (not sure what it's called - more techno).

Heard it's open from Friday until Sunday.

Drinks not that expensive. No cameras - confiscated.

    A must visit.

Come on! A super club. A bit more mainstream than the more um... underground, or younger/lower end clubs in Berlin, but just an absolutely awesome club. And so convenient - just pick a time, any time, Friday through Sunday afternoon and ur good.

Music could be just a bit funkier most of the time, but that's just not how Berlin roll, and sometimes you can be pleasantly surprised with a bit of a switchup.

I get back to NYC and realize, what the hell happened to all the superclubs here?? It really just hit me that there aren't any! What happened to the legacy of Tunnel, Sound Factory, Palladium, Club USA, Twilo, Roxy!? Screw u Giuliani and B'berg.

I love Cielo, but it's so old now. Why no superclubs in NYC????? For years now

Worth getting dressed up for, worth waiting in line, worth the intimidation or threat of rejection, worth the price, worth staying up all night, worth ears ringing, and worth the soreness of long hours of dancing. Berghain is my favorite club in the whole world, hand down.

Club-Mate helps. The music will keep you motivated, the sound system is incredible, and yes, you will lose track of life in there. I went in at 10:30pm, and left when the sun was coming up, danced the whole time. Can't say that about anywhere else.

It is no surprise why Berghain is repeatedly voted the best club in the world. It is the center of the Berlin electro-scene and constantly houses great and amazing DJs. The sound system is world class and the actual club provides a great scene to party all night. Anything goes in Berghain and you can loose yourself there if you have the means to stay up all day and night.

The door men are hard, but they hard hard for a reason. The club attracts everyone and anyone, so they need to be selective. Best bet on getting in is to break up into small groups. Do not be loud, do not speak English and look like you have been in before. Knowing who is playing is also key because sometimes they will ask. Being loud, speaking English and looking lost will get you immediately rejected.

Expect a long queue at any from 00:00-03:00. If you want to wait for less than an hour in line then come at any time after 03:00. If you want to breeze straight in come at 10:00. This place screams Berlin so expect to party all night. Entry fee is around 12 EUR.

if you consider yourself a connoisseur of club culture then this place should definitely be on your list of places to visit.

Located inside of what appears to be a abandoned power plant this spot is definitely quintessential Berlin. Yes, there can be a massive line and, yes, the door staff can intimidating...but once you get inside it is all worth it.

My favorite is the Panorama Bar, which is located inside upstairs.  The music is typically great, the Club Matte is flowing, and there always seems to be an eclectic, international crowd to shake hands with. Be prepared for a marathon dancing session as this place didn't close until 3p the day after we entered...WHAT!?
