Heather is wonderful!
I brought my 4-month old sassy poochon Xena for her full groom and she has done a wonderful job. Normally grooming Xena (cleaning ears, clipping nails, etc etc) turns my tongue blue when I try to do it on my own, but in the span of 2 hours Heather has transformed my tantrum throwing Poochon into a fine lady! I could not even recognize her when I went to pick her up.
A fine work at an unbeatable price! The other place near my house charges 1.5x more and doesn't even come close to Heather's thorough work nor her kind and gentle demeanour.
I've already recommended her to my friends and coworkers. -

Heather is the BEST!
We found her on Craigslist - she had a post in the pet services section titled "SCRUFFY DOGS WANTED!" and offering FREE grooming! She's just starting her grooming business and was looking for different sorts of dogs to groom and photograph to build her portfolio.
Well, yup, ours was certainly scruffy, and I love a good deal! We were apartment-hunting in November/December and needed our pup to look her best for potential landlords deciding whether or not to allow her. She looked FAB! Beautiful, clean job. Heather is meticulous!
Heather is sweet and gentle, and our Malik LOVES her! She's the fastest groomer I've ever experienced, too, which I like. I just spend an hour or two window-shopping (OK, OK, actually shopping) in the area - it's great (Yonge & St. Clair).
She works out of her apartment for now, but it's very convenient as a customer. There's 5 or 6 visitor parking spaces at the front of the building, and the concierge is a lovely man.
So after the first (free) groom, she also gave us a coupon for ANOTHER free groom! But, I decided to save it for when we're really broke and pay when we got her done the second time yesterday. She charges $40 for a full groom (bath/shampoo/conditioner, ear clean, nail clipping) and I ask her not to do Malik's anal glands. Apparently groomers do this automatically if you don't tell them not to. Malik has never had it done and I don't see a reason to start now! Eeeew. Anyhow, most places charge at least $45, so I love that.

Below the Bark is a full service home based grooming shop where the philosophy is that grooming should be a pleasurable experience for all involved.
Dogs are groomed one at a time in a relaxed and upbeat environment. All dogs are carefully groomed, bathed, and hand fluff dried. There are no cages, and dogs never have to sit and wait for the next step in their groom - it's one continual process from start to finish.
Nail polish, temporary colour, and dog feathers available. Ask about creative grooming options!
