I have been going here for a good five years now. I really love this place.
4-6 bucks for a crepe isn't too expensive. You get a easy to eat, cute crepe with great service. With people who smiles at you. They really take care of how they make the crepe for you. It's a bit hard to watch them make it but the surprise makes up for it.
I recommend all of my friends to go there especially if you like soft crepes. I don't have a preference but I just go here just for the cute crepes!!!!
The best part is that you can customize the crepes as well so WIN WIN!
The only catch is that its cash only, other than that, this place is great! -

I came here because of the cute faces they make with their crepes.
It's located in the plaza and for my first time at the plaza, it does take some searching to find this place. I was expecting a small store, but its really just a food court style place with some benches outside that you can eat your food at.
As far as the cuteness of the faces they make, it's really adorable and the services is really great. I felt like they put less effort into some of the faces when it gets busy, but their attention to detail is really amazing. Too adorable!
Taste-wise, I've had better crepes. I would probably go again if I was in the area, but I probably wouldn't travel here JUST for the crepes. -

Yummy crepe and silly fun faces... what's not to love?
I always bring my out of town guest here to get their happy face crepe. And when I'm having a long... tiring... stressful day... for some reason... these crepes puts a smile on my face.
The people who work there are very nice and makes different faces depending on the people I bring. They somehow are able to match the personality of the crepe to the customers personality.
Will go back again and again. -

I love their $3 boba especially their Macha Milk Tea is the best! Cause I don't have to constantly shake it for the powder to dissolve with the liquid. I have not tried their fancy looking crepes but when I come back I may just well do so!
If your thirsty and tired of walking around in J-Town come to this spot for $3 Boba! Yipee.1 Previous Review:

Nice, soft, doughy crepes. It works with the ice cream and whip cream compared to the crispy crepes over at Sophie's. Not necessarily better, but it works.
I got the green tea ice cream w/ sweetened condensed milk. As you've probably noticed, they shape the ice cream scoop into cute little faces. I think the girl that was making ours was getting trained since the crepemaster was scolding her about something. But the scoop of green tea did end up looking like a Shrek face, I think...or some kind of green face, not quite as nice as some of the pics.
It was annoying me that he was looking at me funny, head poking out of the crepe. So in my angry bear voice, I said to him, hey Shrek, you're an overrated and mediocre character at best and your movies are terrrrible! *chomp* -

I'd pick Belly Good over Sophie's (in the same mall) any day. The crêpes are customizable, generously filled with your choice of fruit/whipped cream/whatever you would like. There are the conventional crêpes as well as ones with smoked salmon, or pineapple and ham.
Quick service, adorable decorations, friendly workers, and a great tapioca selection as well. It's the perfect, quirky, cute pick-me-up after roaming around Japantown! -

Super silly, super kitschy. Tastes good (because, c'mon, it's ice cream wrapped up in a pillowy crepe), looks cute (because, c'mon, googly eyes!). What more could you ask for in a place called Belly Good Cafe & Crepes?

This is a fun little shop that's surviving in a dying plaza...=/
It's cute how they decorate it. Worth a try, but I doubt I'll go back. Paying over $6 for a crepe makes no sense.

Just about the cutest creperie I've ever been to!! I got the lychee nut ice cream with apricot jam and peaches and pineapple. It was delicious! It was served with the ice cream dressed up as a cute mouse character. Definitely put a smile on my face. The lychee ice cream had axial chunks of lychee in it. The fruits were fresh and not canned, another plus.

In true Fattie form, we tried Belly Good and Sophie's Crepes (located in the same mall) on the same day.
If I had to pick, I would take Belly Good over Sophie's because the crepe is a little bit more on the eggy, doughy and delicate side, when Sophie's has a crispier edge. And I love that the crepe makes me smile even before the first bite - how could you not love a cute face like this? http://www.yelp.com/us...
They also serve Boba teas (nothing outstanding). You can find Belly Good in the Kintetsu Mall, adjacent to the Sanrio store. Cash Only, and always expect a crowd! -

Hands down the best crepe spot. I would drive long distance for their crepes. The price is okay for the amount they serve you. Usually, I will get a scoop of ice cream, fruits, sauce, and a big load of whip cream. Such a fatten dessert but I would work my ass for this kind of food. Writing this review make me want another one. SUCH A FATTIE. lol

I freaking love Belly Good!
They have heavenly soft doughy crepes with cute faces (:
They always use fresh fruits!
and they people there are always nice.
I'll give you a warning though depending on who makes your crepe face and how busy it is you could end up with a pretty fugly face ): Usually the Japanese guy with the white towel wrapped around his head does a great job (I forgot his name D:)
ALSO, it doesn't matter if you order a "smiley" crepe or just any regular old crepe from the menu, they will usually try to put some sort of cute face on your crepe for you.
Crepes here are usually around $5~$8 ?
You can have it on a plate (which is a huge plus if you hate that awkward biting of a wrapped crepe) OR wrapped up! It'll be somewhat like a really soft ice cream cone shape wrapped in a colored piece of paper.
Menu is pretty large with nice pictures, there is even a "Aya and Noriko's Favourites" board.
Overall a great place with great crepes.
If you're looking for crepes on the crisper side, try Sophie's Crepes. -

What does this look like to you? http://www.yelp.com/bi...
I think it's a lizard.
Bf says it's a zombie.
Before visiting San Francisco's Japantown recently, I did my Yelp homework and bookmarked this place as a must-try after seeing so many cute crepe pics. For $4, you create your crepe by choosing an ice cream flavor, one topping, and crepe style (in a cone or on a plate). I chose green tea ice cream and coconut sauce in a cone. The guy behind the counter got busy and whipped up the crepe for me. I was hoping he would make something cute but what I got was not cute imo. =|
It stared at me and I stared back at it for long time before I took a bite. Well, it tasted just like green tea ice cream with coconut sauce. The crepe was soft and wrapped in a make-shift paper cone constructed from 8.5x11 paper that was held together with a piece of scotch tape. I guess some people might find the DIY charming but that's a bit too odd for me. -

I looove this place. I always come back to this place when I hit up Japantown and it never disappoints me. They have a large variety of crepes to choose from, both savory and sweet, but if none of them strike your fancy, you can always make your own! They also have mochi ice cream, boba, and ice cream. The crepe is soft, and if your crepe contains ice cream then your crepe will most likely come with a smiley face on it!
Last time I went, I got the pudding and strawberry crepe wrapped in a cone. You can have it either in a cone (Japanese style) or on a plate (French style). I got a cone. The crepe was delicious, as always but I felt that the crepe filling was a little sparse, since it was just strawberries and pudding with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Anyway, will be back to try more!
PS. my friend tried the Thai milk tea boba. unfortunately, he did not recommend it :( Well, you can't win them all... -

Got a sweet tooth? SWOOON ME BABY!!! was introduced to this cute creperie spot by a birthday celebration. Not your average cup of joe but a delightful, scrumptious, inviting, eatery. Lots of selections, warm atmosphere, presentation of crepes are sooo cute, taste=YUMMY to my TUMMY, and a friendly staff. 5-10 min wait, depending on how long of a line they have and choices of either to have your crepe on a plate or cone style. Do I need to say more?
Check out my photos =) -

Yummy soft crepes! The crepes are nice and thin. I just love the soft texture and taste of their crepe! I'm drooling right now just thinking about it. I always just get a regular happy face crepe (wrapped) with a scoop of ice cream with nutella. Simple but AWESOME!
Plus, I love the cute animal faces they make. Very creative! -

There are two crepe places in the J-town mall area...this is the better of the two. Order a crepe and get a delicious creation with a cute face made out of candy.

So a couple of my friends and I headed to Japantown to celebrate ending our first year of law school and my other friend's entire completion of law school(!) It was a fantastic day, but got that much better when we decided to pick up dessert from this little tucked away place: The Belly Good Cafe & Crepes.
It was funny because the gentlemen who scooped my mango ice cream suddenly started decorating it. I was first thinking, "Hmm.. I wonder if he misunderstood me," but then I realized he was actually creating the cutest smiley face in my dessert. He varied the faces with each of our scoops and it was such a fun and surprising idea. This made the ice cream taste that much better. I love creativity in food.
If this made law students happy, it most certainly would make a little kid's day, and adults that just want to have something sweet and enjoy the sunshine in SF. This is perfect for the spring and summertime coming up. I'm looking forward to bringing my sweet little niece here when she's a tad older:) -

:'((((((( I miss this place!
Only been here once, where I treated myself to a "face crepe" with green tea ice cream, Nutella, banana and apricot sauce.
There's nothing else quite like it! You are your own crepe boss. You tell 'em what goes in it and they'll whip up a surprise for ya.
Oh, and they only take cash. -

Amusingly funny guy at register. He was very frustrated with a young teen counting her pennies to pay for her crepe. He was impatient and finally told her "its ok!" and accepted her lack of full payment.
When it was my turn, I asked for my crepe to be a bit more crispy. He responded "No crispy here!, Go to Sophie crepe if you want crispy." So I said "there are not opened." He said "they are!" I said "okay, thank you!" I forgot to buy ice cream for my kids since they didnt want crepe. I think i was just shocked by his response.
I would definitely go there again to buy ice cream only (lol). -

The crepes themselves are great here - soft, spongy, with a flavor of their own. The selection of toppings is also impressive - from various jams to azuki beans, and a nice array of ice cream flavors.
I'd definitely give this place an edge over Sophie's even if they do offer gelato, if only for the crepes. Plus the lines are always shorter. -

Another crepe place to love
Haven't been here in forever and I was in the area when I was craving for a crepe. I got a strawberry with ice-cream and bananas and it was pretty good. I liked how the crepe was nice and soft (though I wouldn't mind crispy too)
I thought it was really cute that they create little characters or faces with chocolate chips, flakes and other stuff. I tried to not kill the face as long as I could, lol but the ice-cream was too good.
One of the top crepe places for me to go to. -
Review from Jilly A.

Ok, I finally set up my yelp because this place makes me happy, simply. It's a trip to me that people can give it less than four stars. I really think people expect too much and they're pampered so much so that they can't enjoy a delicious dessert if it doesn't come with a butler to wipe off their faces for them too.
I mean, youre buying a crepe, from a place in a mall where half of the stores are up for lease, and where the ingredients are insanely simplistic. Can't really mess up unless they get your order wrong or burn your crepe which has never happened to me! I read a review from someone complaining about it being wrapped in paper and held together with tape. Really? I don't think it affected the scrumptiousness of the food served. Do people complain when their mall corn dog is served in a paper tray and not on a piece of fine China? Or someone else giving it a blah review because of the notorious cosplay kids roaming the mall and how they dont get it... And their profile pic is of themselves in costume!
Were judging CREPES and service when it comes down to it. They're quality. They're simple. They're delicious. The crepes are soft and stretchy, the icecream is creamy and delicious, the fruit is fresh and the chocolate is chocolatey. The faces they make are adorable and I really can't be upset if I didn't get a specific face made out of my food. My stomach doesn't know that it wasn't an owl this time around.
I love this place. If you have set high standards for your mall food, I suggest saving your pennies and visiting the mall of america and steering clear of humble Japantown. -

OMG.. I love this place. I've tried crepes at several different places, but this here is it. They make it with a more peculiar idea and ingredients in mind but it comes out such a savory and delicious crepe and to top it off with their smiley face designs is such a plus. I recommend any crepe with azuki red bean. Them Japanese folk really know how to do it.

it is belly good!
if there is ever a place, i am definitely going to try food from a place called "belly good"-anything, how funny! & where else are you going to get a crepe with an adorable face on it made by a burly stoic-faced-then-crack-a-shy-smile-handing-crepe-o ver asian man. those japanese, i tell ya...they think of everything cute! -
Review from Krystal C.

I'll have to say that it must be tough being a crepe place in the same building as Sophie's crepe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those Sophie crepe fiends but it is tough to compete with their fan based. I decided to try Belly Good to see how they compare and was really rooting for them but it just didn't quite meet my expectations. First off, the crepes were good but the batter just wasn't fragrant enough. I always get nutella on mine and I prefer to have it a little melted and warmed into the crepe but they seemed to have added it either too late or the crepe wrap just never got quite hot enough that the nutella was pretty cold and stiff.
However, I did get their boba milk tea which was really good. Plus, their cute animal faces on the ice cream is a nice added bonus. -

Although I've been to Japantown a few times, I only knew of Sophie's Crepes.
What Belly Good Cafe & Crepes has over Sophie's Crepes include:
- Better, friendlier service
- Animal faces!!!
- (In my opinion) a better crepe; I enjoyed its chewy texture! -

First of all, (not hating!, but) I will never get used to costumed-out anime folk which are so commonplace in Japantown's plazas! Goes with the charm of this happy little crepe stand though, especially if you're one of those people who geek out over smiley face latte foam. The effort in making each plate/cone stare & smile at you is admirable.
Only wish the food itself made you smile though. I was craving crepes, and Belly Good's tasteless, rarer crepes did not satisfy. If Sophie's is too crispy, and this place undercooks...I wish there was an in-between. Savory was calling to me today, but this was definitely the wrong place to prefer that. Smoked salmon, cream cheese, raw onion, lettuce, salad dressing -filled crepe was just odd, as would be the other ham/cheese options. The dessert crepes look dandy, but it's quite simple (fruit, ice cream, syrup) and doesn't measure up to par when the crepe itself is underwhelming.
I might go again (since I actually printed the 10% off coupon and forgot to use it; hey, paper is like $0.10!), and I'll request the crepe be crispier? -
Review from Dru M.
The bf and I were in the lines for something sweet after diner...did a Yelp search and BAM...it's crepe time. Belly Good sits within Japantown, which is a gem all on it's own.
Highlights -
*I went with a "build your own" crepe (this can come wrapped or on a plate) - my fillers were strawberry cheesecake ice cream, strawberry jam and fresh strawberries. You might be saying to yourself...too much strawberry, but i disagree. With the crepe and whipped cream...it was heaven.
*Boyfriend went with one of the custom crepes...espresso ice cream, nutella, corn flakes and cinnamon. He loved it...especially the combo of nutella and cinnamon.
*Two thumbs up for service!
Note - cash only!
Overall...great service, good prices, delicious crepes...we'll be back! -

this place was too cute to pass up.
there's so many options to customize your own crepe, you can't really be disappointed unless you made a bad life decision between vanilla bean or strawberry ice cream. and even then, it ain't even that bad cause the cute animal that they make out of your crepe should make up for it.
taking off a star because the paper started to stick to the crepe.
IF YOU LOVE RANDOM FOOD ANIMALS SMILING AT YOU, YOU PROBABLY WILL ENJOY THIS PLACE.
can you tell that i'm a sucker for cute dessert? -

I've been here about 6 times now and I absolutely love their crepes! Everytime I go to Japantown, it's a MUST to stop by here. I typically get the Nutella/Espresso one (#23? or 28)... it's so yummy and cute! :3
If you're thinking about trying it out... definitely do it! Just don't forget, it's *cash* only! -

I've been coming here for the past 8 years and I love it every single time. I have countless high school and college memories here and have taken countless friends.
I usually flip flop between the #22 and the #17. On my walk there I usually ponder, "Should I get the 22 or the 17 today?" And for only $5, can you believe it?
I love the crepe's soft texture and that it's just filled with whipped cream, condensed milk, and little bits of corn flakes to add to the creamy goodness. It's perfection. Five stars and highly recommended. -

Love this crepe place! They make the cutest crepes ever! I like the taste and texture of the dough used for the crepe and I feel you get more fresh fruits than other crepe places. Also you don't have to pay hella money to get the crepe you want! Way better than Sophie's and crepe temptations!

I was excited to try this place while visiting my sister but I fear my reading of Yelped hyped this place up too much and thus was disappointed. :(
My sister, niece, and I shared a strawberry banana nutella crepe. It came with a whipped cream face and was nicely presented. The crepe was on the soggy side and was also thin. I think the saving point of this crepe was the nutella. The strawberries and bananas seemed plentiful but the crepe itself should have been thicker and possibly a wee crunchy? Honestly I don't really remember how a crepe should be so this review may not be that useful but the texture of the crepe did not leave me a happy camper.
Genki Crepes makes a better one.. sorry Belly Good :( You did my belly no good. -

One of my great loves that I miss from Japan Town. Prompt, friendly service and a great selection to choose from. If you can, get your crepe to stay because the plate presentation is way cuter than one wrapped up to go.
I don't remember if it had a name or specific #, but my favorite one was red bean and condensed milk with whipped cream and corn flakes :) Lots of good memories eating with friends here! -

Me want ice cream! Gimme my ice cream!
You scooped my Double Rainbow coffee ice cream, why won't you give it to me? What are you doing to it? What? Pretzels? What are you doing with pretzels? Marshmallows? I didn't order marshmallows!
What.... is this magnificent ice cream creation that you have made for me?! What you just handed to me is not merely a scoop of coffee ice cream in a sugar cone, it's a culinary sculpture that transforms my dessert into a reindeer!
Totally unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. The workers were very nice and obviously very skilled with some strategically placed decorations. Good prices too. -

I am addicted to Belly Good Crepes because of their soft and spongy texture. Not only are these crepes delicious they are super adorable. When I visit SF's Japantown, I always bring my friends and family to Belly Good and we compete to see who's crepe ends up being the cutest. I've gotten pigs, bears, and roosters- amazing!
My sister usually always orders #12 but I like to be a little more unique and order a custom crepe. Bananas, Coffee Ice Cream, Nutella, and Whipped Cream. When I am really adventurous I add the flan/pudding to that mix.
I prefer to get the crepes wrapped instead of plated because that means I can eat on the go, it can get a little messy if you aren't an experienced wrapped-crepe eater (like me) so be sure to grab napkins!
