Went here today for a Brazilian wax and was amazed. My first wax (at a different and more expensive salon!) took the lady almost 45 minutes and was ridiculously painful because she had to keep going over the same spot. It hurt to use the bathroom for days!
Well, the lady at Bella Tonic took maybe 10 minutes and probably only 8 or so big rips. Fast and easy. They put oil on you at the end and wet a wash clothe so that you can clean yourself up before you get dressed.
Fast, relatively painless (as much as can be expected), and very affordable! $50 vs the usually $70+. -

Bella Tonic offers a great service at a great price. $5 and 5 minutes later I have wicked eyebrows that I don't have to spend my time plucking (or worse at home waxing....terrible idea).
My biggest issue is that the service is really hit or miss depending on the time of day you go and who you get as your threader. I have been there at least 10 times and have yet to be introduced or learn any of the girls names. Some might be too shy to talk because English isn't their first language, but either way there is minimal conversation. Also if you go during busy times (like any time after 5) it feels like the threading is rushed.
If you can deal without bonding with your threader and knowing you will likely not get the same girl every time you go then check Bella Tonic out. The price can't be beat, and just so long as Millwoods isn't too far of a drive for you then it's worth it. -

I would LOVE to give Bella Tonic Spa a 5 star rating because I truly enjoy the general atmosphere. The staff is very genuine and and I truly believe they do their best. However, there is a huge important improvement that needs to be made: attention to detail.
GOOD:
I initially went to Bella Tonic Spa because they offered threading. I love threading for many reasons and refuse to get my eyebrows waxed. The staff is hugely skilled at the technique of eye brow threading and I get my eyebrows threaded once a month for $5 at Bella Tonic Spa.
I love Emma (the only hair dresser who works at Bella Tonic Spa) who does an amazing job when doing hair. She pays attention to what you want and puts 100% effort into making sure everything is done properly.
BAD:
However, when I decided to get other parts of my face threaded (3 different occasions), each time there was no attention to detail and several sections of my face were carelessly ignored. The process seemed hugely rushed. I no longer get any type of threading done except for eyebrows.
I decided to try a pedicure recently and was hugely disappointed because my nail polish was applied unevenly and on my skin, my feet were barely scrubbed, and I left with the same callouses I came in with. I went in for a hair cut, dye, and highlights.
I was new to Edmonton and was in need of a stylist that could accommodate my needs. I am a Muslim woman therefore I cover my hair in public and needed a salon that had a private area for me as she styled my hair. This place has an area that suited my need for privacy perfectly.
My stylist's name is Emma. I believe she is the only stylist there and she is from Australia. She is friendly, nice, easy to chat with, and SO knowledgeable on hair and color! She made me feel very comfortable and helped me make a decision on how to do my hair. I had never done highlights before so I was nervous about it being too dramatic but she KNEW just the thing.
She even stayed late after closing to make sure my hair was styled perfectly and showed me tricks on how to do it at home.
The owner and the staff there are such nice people and made me feel comfortable. This is my GO TO place and I would recommend it to anyone!
Also, I was able to book an appointment that same day right after work. I know to some people this is a bad sign (because of the lack of clientele) but to me this was perfect. I need a place that can accommodate my busy schedule and take me in when I need to go. While getting my hair done, a client walked in to try to book an appointment so I am sure she gets enough clientele!
This isn't the most "upscale" salon, however. It seems to me they focus more on threading hair removal but I am not picky about that sort of thing. My criteria was to have a private area, a friendly and knowledgeable stylist, inexpensive price, and comfortable environment. She did offer me some refreshments as I waited for my color to set in and made sure I had enough reading material....and that suited me just nicely! :)
I am so satisfied with my results, I love the color and the style--So did my husband! ;)
Anyways, I love this place and I would recommend it!
