Dr. Eric Bella & Associates is your neighborhood eye doctor located at 206-17600 Yonge Street. Your Newmarket eyecare center offers genuine eye care where your eye health and wellness is our primary focus. Annual eye exams are a recommended cornerstone for ensuring the health of your eyes. In addition to checking for changes in your vision and updating your prescription, we will also look at your overall eye health, internally and externally. Prevention and early detection are keys to maintaining healthy eyes, as some eye health issues have no immediate symptoms but can still cause damage if left untreated. That's why regular check-ups are critical.

Had a couple negative experiences here before, with one good one. Today I came in with no contacts, no way to see. I walked from Leslie and Davis. They changed their policy and so I couldn't order and pay when they came in. They would only give a trial pair if I paid up front, otherwise I was left trying to find my way home. Of course I didn't think to bring my credit card and I couldn't get ahold of my spouse to get it. Had to actually get ahold of a family member and get their credit card info to order, which was absolutely humiliating. Done with this place, hope that last sale was worth it.

Customer service (front desk/receptionist) is bad or none, but they have more than one person on different shift/day in a week. But there is one who used to call patients to confirm appointment and will deny that you left a message on their voicemail, regardless when you called, you got their recorded business greetings. I felt like I'm a liar or an idiot while talking to the receptionist.
And their opening hour is shorter than mall hours. I made 2 runs empty-handed and that receptionist still refused to express an apology for the inconvenience caused to me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for your feedback, and we are very sorry you had a poor experience. We have spoken with our receptionist to find ways to communicate our appointments more effectively. Our office unfortunately isn't open during all mall hours, but the optical we share space with is open. Please feel free to direct any inquiries to them if we are not available, and they will relay the message to us. Thank you again for your patience as we strive to improve our patient service, and we hope to see you in the future.

Very disappointing eye exam. Watch out--they try to trick you into paying for services that are not necessary for your eye health. The optometrist also didn't perform the tests requiring pupil dilation, even though there were risks in my family history. I definitely won't get any future eye exams here.

Hi Laura, I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience at the clinic. Although I didn't see you for your exam, I can't comment on what tests were performed for privacy reasons. I would like to say that we take patient care very seriously, and do dilate our patients when it is appropriate. We have since made changes to the way we communicate any recommended tests, in an attempt to make any additional testing more clear as to why it is recommended, and if it is necessary. Unfortunately, many insurances and OHIP often do not cover these services, such as retinal imaging, contact lens fitting, visual field testing, and we strive to present any additional technology or tests in a transparent way so patients can make an informed decision. Thank you again for your feedback as we try to improve our patient service.
