Being in Canada and all, I was hankering for some poutine. Walking up the road, this was the first spot I saw on the corner and I took it as a divine sign.

I slapped down my plastic (an order came to under $10) and ordered a medium poutine. Having not had the pleasure of traveling eastward in Canada, this was as authentic as it was going to get for me. They also had different variations: Thai, Dutch, etc.

Wow. Total comfort food. Hot crispy fries covered in gravy and cheese curds. OMG. Like others have stated, some of the cheese was not melted, but dang, it hit the spot.

The venue itself had lots of wood and TVs playing but was a bit on the drafty side. Maybe it was because they were washing the windows? Anyway, it seemed like a college hangout. I could see this being a very fun spot to hang out during the warmer months when the patio could be used.

Too bad I don't live here. I could see this spot becoming a poutine routine.

I've come to the conclusion that this weekend alone I will tip the scales of fast food, however, well deserved since I haven't really had an awesome "Me Day" in a long time.

I've seen this place in passing (Belgian Fries) on my occasions when going along the drive. It was mid afternoon and I needed something gluten free for lunch that was simple, understandable and delicious.

I'm not a poutine expert, therefore, I am not going to attempt to make any sort of educated comparisons and just base my experience as a one off on the dish that I had which was the meat chilli fries.

The mixture of spices worked awesome together as a team. The fries were fresh, cut to order and fried perfectly. The whole dish was culinary awesomeness in each bite.

I ordered the small but really it is a large that you can share with a friend. I brought half back for my best friend later that day and even though I was full, I still fought a bit inside for a few more bites.

It's one of the few French fry dishes that actually tastes good cold a few hours later as it does hot.

Pricey for the dish, however, you do get a generous portion for the cost.
I hate hockey, therefore, I was glad they played soccer on the big screen which really is my sport of choice. Being in a none hockey orientated environment added to the personally welcoming environment.

The service was decent. I could tell that the cashier was just waking up, however, she was cute and pleasant and patient with me as I took 10 minutes to decide since I was over whelmed with the combinations.

This is my favorite place for poutine so far.

My favorite puotine here is the one with montreal smoked beef.
I tried most of their puotines. Most of them were really good except the ones with chili and chicken (The chicken was ok though, I haven't tried their chili poutine yet.).

I love their vegetable gravy! It's flavorful, light and not greasy.

One thing that missed a star is the portion. Even their small poutine is too big for me. I usually share one with my friend/husband. Probably it's ok size for guys though.

Restaurants on Commercial Drive seem to come and go and I've been waiting to see when this one would hit the "go" list.  You have to be pretty special to attract the locals consistently on the Drive and I've given this place a few chances (the idea of "Belgian Fries" just sounds so enticing).  I figured maybe I could try a few different variations and one would hit the spot.  Nope, not so lucky.  This place is really only good if there's nothing else open, you've had too much to drink and you need to add some grease to your stomach before bed.

Hailing from the Eastern Townships of Quebec, I know poutine.  Whether gorging on crappy ingredients which make up a delectable poutine at Valentines, falling over myself at the selection at La Belle Province, stopping off at random greasy spoons to get my fix of fries, chicken gravy and chewy curd cheese; I was always satisfied.  This was not the case at Belgian Fries. Proclaiming to be "the best poutine in BC" I was shockingly  dissapointed. Not only at the poor service but what genuinely seemed to be a lack of knowledge regarding the assembly of a proper poutine.

    THE CHEESE CURDS

The poutine expert here decided to put some chesse curds on the bottom of the bowl underneath a handful of french fries; this my devout foodies is sacrilege. Needless to say I was chowing on cold UN-melted cheese curds to finish off my less than UN-desirable meal.  To top it off (not that the cheese on the top was any better) the curds were in no way squeaky.

Quote removed please see http://brokenbeat.dubs... for the unensored review.

Now obviously I don't expect them to get the cheese curds from the god damn church of cheese curds Frommage Beaucronne but c'mon where the hell is my squeak?   Ok enough about the cheese as I could go on.

    THE FRIES

The fries an intergral part to the equation were of the dry variety. Crunch is good but hollowed out by oversaturation in the deep fryer equates to a crispy outershell, similar to a potato chip. If I wanted chips and gravy I'd buy a bag of Ruffles and smash them into a pile of mud.  Almost sounds like a tastier option at this point in time.

    THE GRAVY

And here we go, the glue that makes it all stick together, the gravy.  It's vegetarian. Nuff said.

    THE END

In all fairness I wanted to share a link to some reviews. I honestly believe some people are completely blinded by marketing and aesthtic that they no longer pay any attention to their taste buds.  Here's a subjective perspective on Belgian Fries, Subjective Perspective.  Just to sum things up a bit, this whole gourmet poutine craze that is going on is all for not; the poutine is not supposed to be made with top shelf ingredients its made with the correct shitty ones. You think St.Hubert gravy is good for you? No, duh. This is a meal that is crap for your body, henceforth it should contain crap ingredients. When you mess with something that has a standard so low that bums on the streets of Montreal consider it a food group you leave it alone. You can't raise the bar on crap, that's how you get constipated.

Ate here on a weekday afternoon between lunch and dinner so there weren't that many people.

The place felt almost like a bar but focused more on the fries than the beer. The actual fries were delicious. Our table ordered poutine, though, and in terms of the gravy and curds, they weren't that good. The gravy was a little watery and the curds were rubbery. It was a little disappointing considering the quality of the fries.

Overall, the food was pretty good for the price and the beer we ordered (Granville Island Brew) was decent also.

Poutine and beer. Where can you go wrong?

It's a requirement that we have poutine while in Vancouver. Belgium Fries had us covered on both ends; food and beer. Their gravy is vegetarian, which is awesome because I don't eat red meat. We went with the large classic poutine and two hefeweizens and we were good to go. I was a little intimidated by the size of the large, but we devoured it.

I like the location because there is plenty of seating in doors and out. You can people watch while stuffing your face.

It's been a long time... long time... Since I wrote a poutine review! After years of not eating the poutine at Belgian Fries, I was convinced to come back and reevaluate my thoughts on their "best poutine in BC" claims.

In short, my opinion is no, it is not the best poutine in BC. Here's why:

CHEESECURDS: Little curds, both in quantity and size. Not really "squeaky" but tastes good.

FRIES: Crispy but with a hint of staleness. However, it can withstand gravy and still maintain its crispiness at times. The potatoes have a tiny bit of a sour aftertaste though. I believe this may be due to the quality of the potato.

GRAVY: Less salty than other gravies and also not as sweet. Not as hearty and flavourful as other gravies I have had. But they don't skimp on the sauce. Hands down, most gravy I ever had in a poutine.

Overall, this place is good if you are in the area and really crave poutine (and a beer, since they offer alcohol now). But, if you think this is best, you'll need to try some of the other poutine places in town to see where things are really at!

My husband is from the Bay area in California, and when we met, one of the first places I took him to was Beligan Fries on the Drive. There's just nothing quite like watching a poutine virgin eating really good poutine. Maybe that's when he decided to marry me. Who knows?

All things considered, the poutine here is pretty top notch. You've got the standard fries-gravy-curds combo, or if you're more adventurous you can try one of their other poutine concoctions. Moroccan poutine? Check. Montreal smoked meat? Check.

It's all good in the 'hood, baby. And what a fantastic 'hood it is.

Im not sure why Poutine hasn't blown up in the States yet? I mean cmon... who doesn't love French Fries,Cheese curds and gravy all smoothered together? Not the healthiest food to eat but when in Rome right!

So 3 of us shared a large order of the Poutine (with chicken, peas, gravy, cheese curds on top of french fries). The taste was amazing. Why didnt I think of this concoction?

We also ordered a large fry with garlic aoli and pesto aoli dipping sauces. Also amazing. I will come back to Vancouver and now I must try the other Poutine flavors. Belgian Fries please open up a branch in California!

Tomorrow I will make an appointment with my doctor to check cholesterol levels... wish me luck.

Their poutine is mediocre at best. I am not sure how they can get away with saying that it's the best. It surely is not. The gravy is lacking in taste and the cheese curds are minimal. If you want good poutine, walk a few blocks further and check out Brado! It's a far better choice!

I've heard so much about Belgian fries, and I finally got the chance to taste it. Unfortunately, I don't believe it exactly lived up to the hype.

The menu is certainly thorough, and I appreciate that the gravy, despite being veggie, has some good flavour to it. However, at the very end of the day, I believe it's just not as good as Fritz.

The only pros over Fritz that I found, were the cheese quality and maybe the prices. I really enjoyed the fact that every single one of my cheese curds were melted. It's the worst thing, to hit a cold cheese curd in your poutine.

    Cons were:

    * Poorly distributed, not enough cheese curds
    * Fries were slightly lacking in flavour and crispiness

I had a good enough experience that I'm interested in trying their other, more interesting menu items, though.

I just came back from B.F. where I had one of the yuckiest burgers. I don't remember it being like that before.
The meat had bits of gristle, it was dry and tasteless. -ew!

I won't recommend for anyone to eat a beef burger there.
The fries are still pretty darn good, and they do have that little side patio and beer.
Also, I have to ad that I'm not thrilled about how loud it is inside, and then you ad the shrieking out of the order numbers... just not my 'cup O tea.

"I don't understand, gravy. You and I are usually such good friends, yet when I eat you at Belgian Fries I am confused by your blandness. "

Sigh. I want the poutine at Belgian Fries to be better. I end up here occasionally because my mum lives on the Drive and I spent my teens here, but I am always left craving more decadent, saltier, richer poutine.

I do love the amount of cheese (lots of curds) and the fact that they serve beer now (!) but alas, I can only give it three stars because for me, the poutine princess, it just isn't a wow.

I was a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of deep fried goods you could choose from ( yes deep fried chocolate bars were amongst this selection ) so maybe that's why I went against my initial impulse to get poutine. I decided to go for plain old fries, something I so rarely even consider doing, but the huge list of about 50 different flavors of mayo peaked my interest.

I cant say I've ever been so satisfied with a cone of fries as I was at this place, not only could I not finish the small cone (okay I ate a burger too.. maybe that had something to do with it) but the dips were like heavenly goo!

I will most certainly be returning to try something from the left hand side of the menu ( the many types of poutine ) as some of the combos seem either brilliant or frightening. Either way I'm down.

It was only a few years ago, Belgian Fries on The Drive was a cute little hole in the wall on Commercial. Now they obviously expanded the place with a bigger, more modernized building with a bigger seating area. I understand the reason for the expansion (because it's so popular) but now it just doesn't have the same charm it used to. Their menu used to be simple too: fries, dip, poutine, deep-fried Mars bar but now they expanded their menu as well to include deep fried seafood plus hot dogs.

I am a big fan of the fries and the dipping sauces. I think I've tried each and every one of them on separate visits. Fries are always fantastic and choosing a dippy sauce is fun. My friend had the deep fried candy bar (with ice cream) and he did not complain.

I am a fan and will stay a fan!

To start, I love chippers. I think they just might be the best thing ever invented. How I hadn't heard of Belgian Fries I don't know, but thanks Yelp for it randomly coming up in a search - after I read the reviews, I had to try it myself!

I am a bad Canadian, I've never had poutine ever in my life (not even a bite) so I decided to try a classic poutine with the vegetarian gravy. Bonus point to veggie gravy, I'm not a vegetarian but I like meat gravy. After my wait (+1 point for frying up fresh chips), I settled down with my massive serving of poutine. I ordered a medium, but it was huge. Now, the chips were gorgeous. And the poutine itself was okay - I established I am just not a fan of poutine, perhaps because I just don't like any kind of gravy whether meat or vegetable. But high quality chips, so mental note - on next journey order the cone of garlic mayo chips which much better suit my fancy.

After eatting as much poutine as my stomach could possibly handle, there was something else I always wanted to try -  a deep fried Mars bar. I know, so bad for you, but I had it - it was there. Ordered it up, they served it (they were quite excited when I told them it was my first ever) - and let me tell you, its a brilliant thing I am not currently on a diet. That deep fried Mars Bar was a little bite of heaven. I suggest sharing (it is very rich), but it is on my new must do list in Vancouver.

Also to be noted - they serve beer. Perfect for unwinding after a day on the Drive

Staff there was just awesome, super friendly, service was fast even though it was really busy.

    My favourite place for poutine.
The portions are huge, and it's delicious. Though, I have only stuck with the classic poutine (I've heard great things about "War" though, I plan on trying it)
The recent renovations have made the seating better and far more comfortable.
The fries are perfect and thick, crisp on the outside. Though, at times they can be a bit over seasoned.
If you're there just for the fries, I do love the golden mayo dipping sauce.
    I highly recommend it.

A good quick carbo fix on a rainy day.. We really enjoy the poutine (yay for miso gravy!) and although that's all I've had there, my company seemed to really love the hotdogs with chili and the WAR topping which was quite the mix...

Never able to finish a medium order, try that with a friend and see that you can get full for under 3 bucks each.

so i have never eaten poutine in my life till about 2 months ago. so now i am on the hunt for the ultimate poutine!

everyone is talking about belgian fries saying this is one of the best places for poutine.

so i come on a saturday was sorta busy. woman at till was less then impressive. sorta rude and seemed distracted. took a few minutes and my order was yelled out. big bowl full i was starting to drool. i ordered just the classic.

fries: sorta thick soggy and nothing really exciting not seasoned.

cheese: minus the squeek, seemed to not be that fresh and they were really cheap with the amount of cheese. was a few in the bowl and were sorta cold. i like them sorta gooey and this was defiantly lacking there.

gravy: really tasted like a packaged gravy. and like too much flour or cornstarch. sorta a snotty texture. again not seasoned or too flavorful.

i think the reason why this place is popular is due to the special poutines they offer. they had like the italian and chicken and etc. something out of the box you dont see other places, but really the hype is over the top for this place....i dont get it!

as far as the hunt for the best poutine, it did not come from belgian fries.

I like fries more than most people. And when I say "like", I mean I could probably just eat fries for the rest of my life and be perfectly content.

Belgian Fries on Commercial seemed like a good spot for me, then, because they have, well.... fries.

The menu offers a range of poutine and poutine-inspired choices, as well as burgers and burger-like things.

But all I wanted was fries. So that's what I got.

They offer a large selection of fry dips (one free with a cone of fries, the rest 85 cents a pop), and I decided to try a few: the Golden Mayo, the Hot Garlic, and the Curry.

The fries were fresh and hot, the dips were tasty (and the little tubs of dip were big enough that I had some left over, which is always better than the alternative), and I was pretty stuffed before I even got to the bottom of my medium cone of fries.

All in all, pretty damn good.

The place is airy and has quite a few tables, so you'll always find a seat. The condition of the tables was pretty sketchy when I came in, but a girl was rushing around cleaning right after I arrived, so I think that was an anomaly.

I still really like fries. I'd go again.

I ordered 3 large classic poutines To-Go. While waiting for the food, I notice Belgian Fries' location is great. Lots of trendy people walking around. The patrons insides were not grossly obese. But in fact, they were all skinny and good looking people. It was weird to say the least. Perhaps fat people are ashamed to eat poutine inside, and thus take out, for fear of being judged and criticized by ME--"no wonder he's so fat." Then I quickly realized, oh shoot! I'm ordering 3 large poutines TO-GO! haha.

Okay, here's the evaluation of the classic large poutine. 1. It tasted good. Like most restaurant poutine. It's definitely better than Costco's poutine (which is made with mozz instead of cheese curds). 2. The cheese was not melted even after a 15 min drive and steaming in its own box, so that was a fail. Why don't people just cut the curds up smaller? Commonsense says that it will melt quicker. and 3. I thought the fries were fresh HOWEVER I was told by a particular retired chef (worked in the business for 20+ years) that these fries were frozen. Take it for what it's worth. I thought it was fresh. The father of my lady friend says it's not fresh. Therefore, I will side with the chef in order to be on his good graces and for future awesome dinner invitations in his home.

Verdict: 3 stars (A-Okay), go and check it out.

I've got to give this place a five out of five if only to rank it alongside my review of Fritz. For me, an afternoon on the Drive is not complete without Belgian fries. Its poutine is in close running with Fritz for the best in the city, but I definitely give it the distinction for having the more interesting poutine when it comes to what's mixed into it.

I'm a big poutine fan and like so many of its Quebecois inventors I enjoy experimenting a bit. Belgian fries has huge variations of sausage, veggies and other delights they choose to put alongside the gravy and fries and I've made it a bit of a life goal to try every one. The last I had was the Tunisian which featured a very interesting sausage that went amazingly with the poutine. Since then I've gotten some of that sausage for myself on a few occasions and I'll definitely get it when I go again.

A word of warning though, the portions are pretty darn huge so unless you have friends to share or a huge appetite I wouldn't suggest the large size or the burger/poutine combo options. I've rarely seen someone finish one of them alone.

Filling and fresh, this deep-fry greasery cooks up a range of delicious dishes that can be smelled up and down the block. The hot oil keeps the room warm, and the high levels of fat can help apply extra weight for the long winter months.

Fries are the specialty, with fancy mayonnaises giving them that European touch. Other dishes include food on the same social standing, such as hotdogs and poutine. Worth noting is that during the summer months they offer deep-fried Mars bars, so good that they could literally give you a heart attack.

Affordable and tasty, its guaranteed to pick up your taste buds and slow down your metabolism.

This place has "fries" in its name. You should really only order poutine (we got the kind with Merguez sausages yesterday, yum) or the War, which is just fries with a peanut satay sauce and mayo -- sounds disgusting, but is surprisingly delicious!

The location and the hours are what really keeps this place busy. It's open until midnight on Friday nights, and who doesn't want poutine after they've been drinking the night away on Commercial?

My roommate is allergic to potatoes. She will never be able to taste the ambrosia that is Belgian Fries without dying. That makes me sad.

But I'm not allergic to potatoes and I had a giant tub of poutine with lamb sausage and it was the most delicious potato-based food item I've ever had.

    Ever.*

The pint of Honey Lager from Granville Island Brewing also helped me wolf down this bargainly big tub of greasy Belgian/Quebecois goodness.

    * Okay, so the first time I've had poutine it was at some run down bar ran by a Canadian expat in a back alley in Hong Kong, and I've never had poutine in Quebec because I am too ashamed of my Franch skills to show up there, so my basis of poutine-evaluation is not that great. But, still, EVER. Better than those potato things with cheese and bacon on them, even.

I really want to be a fan. I do. But I'm honest - and honestly I was very underwhelmed in my first visit to to Belgian Fries.

And really it's my own damn fault. I LOVE poutine. I am always looking for a good poutine. The mistake I made here was to NOT get the regular poutine. They have so many different kinds of poutine on the menu, I got excited. Very excited. But what usually happens is that I suffer from Menu freeze - meaning there is so much good stuff I don't know what the hell to get.

So I asked. I asked the dude who seemed to be in charge and he said that besides the regular poutine the most popular one is the chicken and peas poutine.

So I got it. And it was a big disappointment. Sure there was a ton of fries in a big bowl - but the chicken/pea mess was just plopped on top then the gravy was put over that. Honestly I think it would be best if the regular poutine was made THEN to put whatever extra on top of that.

The bad about it was that the chicken stuff was really salty. And the chicken was obviously pre-prepared - which isn't a big deal, but when meat is left on the grill for too long the outside of it starts to develop a thick outer layer - that is NOT edible people. And the moron who made my poutine threw two big chunks of it in.

Just that aspect pisses me off more as I write it and I want to knock a star off. It just was NOT good. Very little gravy and curds on my fries and I left with 1/3 of it leftover.

If you were to come to any meal with me, you know that I would eat the plate if it tasted like beef.

I'll be back to this place but it will be to get the poutine or fries.

It's definitely not really worthy of being a "regular" spot. I can figure that it would be an ideal late night, before you stagger home place to nosh at.

Overrated Poutine place on Commercial drive.

First the fries disappointed.   They were slightly overcooked and not the appropriate type of french fry for poutine as they wouldn't soak up the gravy.  I believe that poutine french fries should be softer, not crisp like these ones.

Secondly the gravy disappointed.  It was not properly cooked,  I could sense a floury aftertaste as well as a something a little burnt.  Perhaps I had bad luck with a bad batch.

Finally the cheese was something of a saviour, but not enough.    The cheese curds were nice but not squeaky like the freshest ones are.   Additionally the concoction as a whole wasn't hot enough to melt the curds in to that nice cheese/gravy slurry we're all so familiar with.

To top it all off there was just simply too much Poutine.  Given the calories this really isn't a good thing.  I'm not sure why "CBC Montreal says it's the best Poutine in BC",  perhaps they were on drugs or only ever went to one place.   You can do much better at Fritz and a number of other places around town (try the lobster poutine at Global for an interesting take or the more conventional serving at Chill Winston).

Love this place, been going there for years.

Poutine is great, so are the regular fries with honey mustard mayo
One Large is easily enough for 2 people, order accordingly.

    Most interesting menu Item?

Fries are fries. Deep-fried chocolate bars okay if you've never tried it, but honestly, the simple act of craving them probably increases your risk of heart attack by 1%.
The deep-fried ice cream is a complete waste of time for ~$5.25. You get 1/8th the amount of ice cream you'd get if you spent $5 on a small tub, and the experience is like having a big scoop of ice cream with soggy cornflakes (is that what they used for the outer shell??) on the side.

This place had good poutine, but I still think Fritz is better. I went here with a fellow poutine fan based on rumours that this place was better than Fritz. The gravy at Belgian Fries wasn't hot enough to melt the curds onto the fries.. however, they get bonus points for having veggie gravy. The fries were also not super crisp to begin with, but they were okay.

They've also got deep fried mars bars which were pretty interesting. The ice cream that it came with wasn't very good.  It was a bit grainy and had larger ice crystals indicating improper freezing techniques.

Actually, I'm sure I will have a heart attack in my sleep tonight based on this dinner. But all in all, it was good. They have a nice patio, if it's not full when you get there. It's good location for people watching!

We visit here for the poutine once a month, sometimes more often.

Last night we were super hungry so we also had some burgers.

Lovely, beefy, meaty and full of taste.

Served on a fresh bun with tomato, lettuce, onion and pickle.  They let you add your own condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish, hot peppers etc)

Still our favourite poutine place and now burgers too!!!

As Martin T states, good poutine takes 3 things. Only two are really under the control of the places that sell them - unless they make their own curds - so they only have two to get right.

The fries here are pretty good. A nice balance between crisp on the outside and soft on the insides. The gravy, however, was grim. I was disappointed on reading their menu board to see that it is 'vegetarian', but thought I'd give it a try anyway. However, it was pretty much like any other attempt at vegetarian gravy I've ever tried - way too much salt is used in a vain attempt to bring out what little flavour is there.

I hadn't been to this place since it used to be just a hole in the wall taking up a fraction of the space it does now. I'm afraid it may be a case of a good idea stretched too far - not unlike the flavour of the gravy.

I read on the internet that, "poutine takes the pain away".

I can't really top a review like that.

Except to extend it with ... poutine takes the pain away.. but brings artery clogage. MMM MMM Good!

Seriously, the poutine here is pretty legit. But don't try to get yourself a happy meal and order the veggie dog. It will turn your smile upside-down.

Off the bat, I'm undecided as to how I enjoyed my meal here, hence the 'A-OK' mark.

I like the space and how it's quite large with tons of seating. I don't like how I had to squint to read the menu up on the wall. No one else was waiting but I didn't wish to be the creep squinting at the till for a couple of minutes and consequently hastily ordered off the specials menu.

I was heart broken that they only offer vegetarian gravy. Gravy is made from a roux and meat drippings. Vegetables drip nothing. Which means vegetable gravy is a scary mix of somethings. Also, other than mayo-based dips for their french fries, there's nothing else Belgian. Battered fish? Cheeseburgers? Poutine? Hmmm.

So I ordered the lunch special that was 2 pieces of cod, a small poutine, a little container of coleslaw, and a peach stone juice. Equals $17. Yowch. I later made myself feel worse by comparing all of the things or meals I could have purchased for that amount. Anyways. The fish comes in a dilled batter and was very flaky, with the batter being light. They also came in a pool of their own oil. The poutine reminded me a lot of the kind you get at Burger King. Glossy tomato fleck-based gravy but thankfully with much better cheese. I liked how the cheese was layered throughout the fries so it was a constant surprise. The coleslaw was so finely chopped that it was a bit of a mush. There were random larger pieces that gave it some texture, but also made me feel that they just didn't get processed in the chopper as long. The tartar sauce was good though, and there was a nice big wedge of lemon for drizzling. My peach stone juice was lovely and fake and made me feel like I was at a beach concession stand.

Hmmm overall, I'm still at a loss. I think if I wanted a step-up from Burger King, I would return for their regular poutine, but for the prices, I'm just not convinced that it's worth it. Thanks for the juice though!

    Delicious, fried, salty potatoey goodness!

If you like poutine, get the regular poutine... I don't even like cheese curds (the waxy sound when you bite down them creeps me out), but this, this was truly delicious. On a different visit, I did just the hot garlic mayo, and that was heavenly just as well. If it's cold outside, do the chili & fries... so good!

Yeah, not good for the arteries, not good for the cholesterol, but SO good for the tummy!

The best poutine in town.  I usually get the Galvaude or the one with chicken and peas.  The fries are nice and crisp and the cheese curds unlike other places taste and melt like actual cheese.  I can't attest to the other items on their menu (fish and chips, burgers, beer, deep fried ice cream), but their poutines are just great.  Don't expect too much from the decor (although they did rennovate a couple years back).
