I love this place! They just moved locations to Fraser & 23rd, and the new space is BEAUTIFUL!
I have been getting my haircuts at the Beehive, mainly from Sarah Jane, for the last few years and have always walked away happy. I find that the staff are really good at assessing what kind of cut will be flattering specifically to you, and also to cutting in a way that grows out well.
Go get your hair cut here! -

I got my hair cut with Lindsay, who I believe is the newest stylist to the salon. The cut is phenomenal. I only had a vague idea of what I wanted, we looked at a few pictures and then she gave me the most gorgeous haircut I've ever had. I will absolutely go back, even though it's more than I'm used to spending on my hair.
I sort of wish they had a dedicated receptionist - I felt a bit shy paying (and tipping) my stylist directly at the front counter, and the stylists take turns leaving their clients to answer phones and check customers in.
Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. -

I think I've just found my new hairdresser.
I was absolutely thrilled with the cut I got from Sarah Jane, and I found her to be really sweet and quirky- there was no impersonal chatting about the weather or whatever else hairdressers who don't care tend to talk about. She was refreshing and funny- we discovered we have mutual friends, and I will definitely be going back.
Super cute salon, too. I hear they're moving in November, so hopefully the new place will be just as nice. -

I like this place a lot. Staff is really friendly and cute! What can I say - cute rockabilly-ish girls always get me. I've had my hair cut here about 3 or 4 times - each time a different stylist. They have all been super.
I didn't get my hair cut for years, so I am not yet comfy with the habit of paying $60+ for a cut. But, I begrudgingly acknowledge this is par for the course with women's hair...so, the price is about average.
My one squabble is they charge more if a 'senior stylist' does your hair. A few times I've forked over $10 more than expected because it turned out a senior stylist did my cut. Booo! Maybe this practice is normal too, but it was kind of a put-off at the time...I wish they had mentioned it at the time I made an appointment.
Mind you, my Beehive cuts look great from the moment I leave the chair until I come back a few months later for another one. I am pleased at how well my hair grows out...no awkward stages.
Besides cuts they do colour, facials, mani-pedis and waxing. I did get my brows waxed here once (free with a haircut - it was a promotion). Damn, I just remembered how good that looked. So I can recommend that too - the brow wax. None of this "don't pluck from the top" B.S. -- she made me look fly!!! -

What a nice little treasure to find on Fraser Street! The place looks fabulous and the staff is friendly and totally chill. No pushy product sales like at other salons I've (dreadfully) gone to. My hair does not like to behave very well especially when given the wrong cut. My hair dresser Lindsey Rose at Beehive really listens to my needs and gave me the perfect hair cut at much lower price than I would have paid at other decent salons. Love the neighborhood, love the peeps. Will definitely be getting my hair cut more often now that I found Beehive!

I went there after hearing great things about it, and I was given absolutely the worst haircut I've ever gotten. Bangs were far too short. It wasn't equal - right side was completely different than the left. Absolutely nothing like what I wanted and we agreed to. My hair was up in a ponytail for months. Never again.....
