I first had my beard papa's in LA and fell in love. When I saw that Vancouver got their very own , I couldn't resist!
Highly recommend trying these puffs if you've never had them. Remember, you do have to eat them right away or they will turn soggy. -

Flaky pastry surrounding a gooey custardy filling. Mmmmm Beard Papa.
I decided on some dessert after a quick lunch and Beard Papa was calling my name. The regular flavor is delicious, but I love the green tea custard filling. One is usually enough to satisfy your sweet tooth and can be filling as well. It can also get a little messy, but worth every bite. Don't be surprised if you end up licking the cream filling off your hands. -

Classic Beard Papa.
I've been to too many of these to count (Tokyo, Los Angeles, Narita, Vancouver, etc).
The cream puff was tasty and the staff was quite nice.
Don't half step. Wash down your Japa Dog with a cream puff from Beard Papa's. They are on the same block. -

Ive been waiting to write a review for this place. Never had a cream puff before until today, I know, what a horrible childhood you might say? I feel i turned out okay, but today, was epic. Today is wednesday, and the special flavour for the day is Mango. I decided it was time.
I paid almost $2 dollars for this gigantic creampuff, that has cold mango custard on the inside. There needs to be an emoticon for drool, because thats what i am doing just thinking about it.
Stop reading this, and go get one for yourself. I already ordered my vietnamese sub from next door, but I ate the creampuff first. I wish I had one right now. Yup!!! -

Went by this place while strolling in downtown as a tourist. Their window display caught my attention. Their creme puff was good. It was creamy and puffy! Also, I liked it to be not overly sweet. They also offers other creme pastries that look very tempting.
The staff were quite friendly, especially they were happy to see I snapped the last creme puff for that day! -

I love it when you call me Beard Papa.
We accidentally parked outside of this place on our way to exchange something at Future Shop. We accidentally had to stop in at Beard Papa's, and I may have accidentally ordered a cream puff with vanilla filling that I didn't really need. It's also possible that it tasted really good and wasn't as overly sweet as I thought it would be if I had considered ever eating one. What is up with my Beard Papa guilt? It was only ONE cream puff right? Right?
The BF dragged me in since he needed a sugar fix and the only flavours they had available for the cream puffs were vanilla and green tea, and since I deteste green tea ice cream because I believe in keeping green tea holy and pure and by adding sugar and milk to it you are corrupting the natural flavours, I went with the vanilla. It was pretty good, but I bet banana would taste even better... hook. me. up.
This is the tiniest store I think I have ever squeezed into. So if you eat too many Beard Papa's cream puffs you may have trouble at this location. The staff were helpful though, and they could tell we were new to the Beard-o experience.... what is with the name Beard Papa anyways? Does Big Papa hide cream puffs in his beard as snacks for later? Who knows? Whatever his secret is, they taste great! -

I first tried these awesome cream puffs while vacationing in Hawaii and they were awesome! Almost exactly the same here in Vancouver, the outsides are so light with the perfect amount of sweet custard on the inside. You could eat them six at a time. Well, at least I could! Oh, and with Japadog right next door, you couldn't have better neighbours!
A previous poster says the mango one's terrific. Only on Wednesday's? Dammit, it's only Thursday now. Six more sleeps.... -

This damn place is in such a convenient location when ever I get lunch or walk by there I feel like I have to enter.
And seriously "sold out!", it is only middle of the day, make some more ..... -

Fail! I dunno what happened, but my creampuff was really disappointing! I got an over-baked puff and runny/melted cream filling.
I'm told it's not normally like that, so I'll have to give it another try next time. Sigh!! -

You pretty much HAVE to try a Beard Papa's cream puff if you are in Vancouver. I'm not really a cream puff connoisseur or anything, but of the limited amount that I have had in my life, this has been by far the best.
There are a number of flavours to choose, start with the Original Vanilla, and move on to Chocolate, Strawberry, Coffee, Green Tea, Pumpkin, Earl Grey Tea, or Eclair. A six pack o'puffs will help you cover the bases.

They also have Mochi Ice Cream, Fondant Au Chocolate, Mango Ice Showers, Cheesecake and Mont-Blanc - all of which I haven't tried, but they look amazing. -

OMG! I have found a new obsession and it is Beard Papa's cream puffs. I cannot wait for this trend to take hold down here in Seattle.
The puffs are amazing. So light and crispy on the outside, but with smooth, rich and creamy custard on the inside. I was a tad skeptical at first, but as soon as I took my first bite, I was hooked. Wow. Just wow. -

Mmm...did someone say cream puffs?
After walking by Beard Papa's quite a few times this past weekend we decided we'd better stop and see what the long line was all about.
The flavors of the day was green tea, chocolate & vanilla. We tried the green tea and chocolate. I thought both were really yummy but not sure I understand what the long line was about. They were good but not a 20 minute wait good. -

Who's your Papa?
Beard Papa's is to cream puffs, what Krispy Kreme is to donuts. It is a Japanese import, which first made its way in the North American soil in Hawaii and New York. This Beard Papa's is like any others - long lines to get an airy creamy goodness inside a puffy pastry. This store has more selection than Seattle, but less than Hawaii.
Beard Papa's cream puffs are good, but remember the Law of Diminishing Returns. The more you eat, the more it seems ordinary. I'm over the craving.
TIP: It is best when eaten fresh. If you take it home, the filling will soak the pastry like shaving cream to Papa's beard. -

Amazing cream puffs! Definitely a must try!

I made a mess of myself eating the caramel cream puff and I didn't even care. Crusty exterior, sweet and oozy on the inside - but not cloyingly sweet. If I were a snack, I'd be a Beard Papa cream puff.

Sweet Jesus, this could become a bad habit. It's a good thing I don't live closer because these cream puffs are like little poofs of heroin. And there is no such thing as a "heron fancier". A box of 6 will be reduced to crumbs in minutes. Happiness and joy.

I was excited to see a Beard Papa's pop up on Robson St! The first time I indulged in one of those large tasty cream puffs was in Hawaii, and I was hooked. You can imagine my excitement when I first spotted a Beard Papa's in Vancouver! I know Richmond has had one for quite some time however I was happy to see one finally downtown. The Robson location is quite tiny, especially when you are crammed in there with the other tourists and locals. I waited till my turn and ordered my favorite flavor vanilla. It was still fresh and delicious, however I remember them tasting better on vacation :( Then again, everything is better when on vacation.

There's a Beard Papa in NY, and their space is more open and airy. This one seems like some ghetto little quick-e-mart store, with their cream puffs looking stale. Come on. 'Fresh cream puffs'? Yea, right.
