This may be the best restaurant in Whistler for overall dining experience. Decor is simple and warm. The kitchen is led by well known chef Mellisa Craig who has won numerous awards.
The night began with a bunch of us in the Belvedere Vodka room, which looks and feels like a cubed igloo and houses many vodkas from around the world. A quick shot of vodka and we settled into our seats for dinner.
The three course menu for $45 is one of the best values in whistler. I had the mixed green salad, duck and creme brule. The meal was exquisite from start to finish. The duck was prepared in a simple manner, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Desert was popcorn creme brule which was a very nice way to finish the evening.
For those of you who are more adventurist they did offer nitro ice cream , which tasted like ice cream made fresh from the dairy farm.
If you are a wine enthusiast then you must go check out their cellar which houses one of the finest wine collections in BC. The cellar apparently can host private functions as well.
No question this is a must try restaurant in when your in Whistler. -

Fixed menu is now $49 plus "supplements". Service is lacking. Food is good, but not worth it.

meh. the best thing about this place is perhaps the fact that its logo is a rip-off of rolls-royce and bently. it should be a warning sign for levels of creativity and inspiration ahead. oysters were ok but were described as "half shell, fresh horseradish". no kidding.
deconstructed banana split? please, don't anger the banana split gods. just come up with a new name.
perhaps i went in with the wrong attitude, as i had wanted to be sharing with a certain someone at a certain point in life, etc. and instead was alone contemplating the bottom of a bottle of wine. but i really did not find this place to be as creative, romantic or warming as i had hoped. it wasn't bad. it just wasn't great. -

My first experience with the Bearfoot Bistro was in 2002. At the time the food was good, alot of finesse but little substance. I am very happy to report that since Chef Melissas' arrival to the head chef position, the recipies, the quality of the ingredients as well as the overall ambiance of the place( They revamped the Wine Bar, its quite a site:stemless champagne flutes fit right in little holders that line an iced bar, the holders have fiberoptic lights inside.....impressive). THEY FINALLY HAVE FOOD THAT LIVES UP TO CANADA'S BEST WINE LIST!!!!
The Bearfoot also features a cute little cigar room that is key when you want to smoke and its 30 Below Outside!
