It's a neat little coffee shop, coziness and all. Very home-like w/ the chairs, tables, and a few love seats too.
Ordered the blueberry banana smoothie, recommended and fresh. Just wished they had plastic wrapped straws lol. -

Thrift store chic, great breakfast sandwhiches on bagels. Just another reason I love yelp, being driven down Cambie in need of coffee, quick Yelp search for a non-chain and voila!

Pleasant ambiance, nice owners/staff but coffee is below average.

What a lovely little place! Chained my bike up out the front in need of a good latte, and I certainly got one! An instant "Hi how are you?" from the guy serving is always a good start :) And he'd bring it to the table? Cheers! (Although I still always have to get up and go add honey). He even asked what type of milk I'd like!
There was a mini library there too, how cool is that? Coffee and books go hand in hand. Lovely soft seats to sink right into, relaxing music....and a guy talking loudly whilst eating *sigh*. Some things cannot be controlled ;)
Free wi fi also. Highly recommended little place! One star down purely because my latte was a touch too strong and I'm a creamy person (that sounds wrong!). -

I like so much about this little hole-in-the-wall coffee shop!
Cute, eclectic seating, brick walls, real ambience that didn't come out of a "cafe culture" catalogue, small but serviceable outdoor seating, a lovely bay window bar area... the coffee's good, the soup and sandwich options are great! The couple who run it are great too, if quiet. Free wifi, nice places to chill out, good for small groups, ones and twos.
Bathroom is great, wheelchair accessible, but it's a tight squeeze to the back when the place is full.
Only downsides: it's very small, closes early, and some may find the hallway to the bathroom difficult to navigate. This is definitely not the spot for a mommy group to meet - just one stroller would fill the place up. few places to plug in a laptop, so check first to see you are charged up in case.
I think there's parking at the rear if needed, but hey - it's Cambie Village? Why would you drive? -

If you camp out long enough, chances are you'll make a trip to the loo. It's clean, and possibly recently redone. It has an almost "hotel" like feel to it. Plus they have that perfume-y soap that makes you think of the '80s or a hospital, or a gramma (okay, maybe the soap is just what I think of). Either way, it's nice to be in a coffee shop where even the bathroom is welcoming.
PS. There's free parking in the back.Listed in: Vancouver's Coffee Culture: A…, Where's My Wi-Fi? These…, Service with a Smile!, Cambie Village, Potty Patrol

In "Cambie Village" there lies yet another Vancouver neighbourhood cafe called "Beans" or Beans Central.
Big surprise, I know. Me, Yelping a Cafe ;-)
Typical in some ways with bagel breakfasts on the menu this cute cafe also offers some different lunch options.
Flavoured with a Thai influence are the daily soup and a hot specials. I had the Coconut Chicken soup. A nice option for my limited diet.
Also available are sammies and hot drinks. The Beans are 49th Parallel. This coffee snob gives Beans a nod and a thumbs up.

I've been going to Beans on and off since it opened way back when (which is a cool way of saying I've forgotten). Why so long to write a review? No excuses. Sorry.
Anyway, these guys do two things really well - a mocha (I love me a good mocha) and a soup/sandwich combo. It's the perfect lunch at a great price AND the staff are so friendly that it's almost like being at home (cept you don't do the hard stuff). My only gripe is that they close so early these days, but given that there's a Starbucks over the road and a whole host of restaurants otherwise, it kinda makes sense that they do.
Highly recommend trying their soups. Strongly recommend. In fact, go do it, now! You won't be sorry ;-) -

Beans is just down the block from my kid's place, so whenever I'm in the city visiting I end up here for at least one breakfast. The couple that own the place (and man the counter) are unfailingly friendly and always ready with a chat while you wait for your coffee. They have a great sandwich selection (I'm partial to the BLT on a bagel for breakfast) and they make a fantastic latte.
The place is small and filled with thrift store chic so you feel comfortable curling up with your coffee and novel and settling in for a comfortable breakfast. I also love the fact that their windows open up in the summer so you can sit at the counter and watch the world go by.Listed in: The Vancouver Edition

Their soup/panini combo is awesome and if you split the full combo with a friend it is a steal of a deal. One of the few cafes that actually makes a proper Italian soda with cream. The cinnamon bun is gooey and delicious, and the breakfast bagel super filling.
The staff are friendly. Definitely my favourite place in the Cambie hood for lunch. -

I love the Beans! This little family-owned cafe is perfect for those of us who like to hang out in our Cambie Village. The family who runs it now, I believe it changed owners last year, has kept the menu and added a few things but the quality is still the same. I love the veggie breakfast bagel, and also the Tuna melt... soooo goooood! Sometimes I even wish it was open later so I could full fill my dinner cravings, but I understand the needs of having a life outside of work.
the staff have been super good to us every time we come in. We actually had trouble connecting to their FREE internet when ours was down and the dude working there spent at least twenty minutes of his time trying to help us, which is above and beyond what they would do at say.... Starbucks? Everything I have ever tried here has been amazing, the soups are so good too because they taste like they are made from fresh real ingredients, and not prepackaged powder. If you find yourself waking up in the Cambie Village after a bender, stroll on in and get yourself breakie. -

I happened upon this tiny cafe on my way to school one day. I needed a caffeine fix and decided to check out this locally owned and operated independent business. The owners are friendly and helpful. They make a concerted effort to introduce themselves to you and learn your name. It seems they place importance on building relationships with their customers. The quality of the coffee is decent. There isn't much in terms of pastries but they do have an extensive food menu consisting of yummy sandwiches, soups, and daily lunch specials. The decor is warm and quirky, and many local businesspeople and parents with their children frequent this establishment.
One thing I do hope they will be able to implement in the future are longer store hours. It's pretty awesome. You should go! -

This place is a real gem. It is one of the reasons I love living in Mount Pleasant. I hesitate posting this review in fear of more people find out about this place.
The coffee is first rate, the BLT is just the thing for a cold November morning. They have a tasty selection of lunch sandwiches and soups that are worth trying. -

Good location, coffee, and service...a decent selection of baked goods and snacks (locally sourced items). Classic cafe ambience: bookshelf, deep chairs, dark tones, wifi. Seating is limited, however this keeps the place quiet and relaxing.

Cute little shop, friendly staff, quirky/comfy decor, nice window seating, great soups and sandwiches, and awesome location! Cambie is looking so great these days-- it's where the party's at (maybe)! Wifi was iffy but once we got it rolling, we stayed for hours!

I went to Beans for a (late) breakfast/brunch last weekend on the way over to the Car Free Day on Main. I like the place, nice and small, a quality cappuccino (good foam), casual atmosphere. Although they apparently didn't hear my girlfriend's order for the bagel with ricotta and blueberries, they quickly brought it out when we reminded them. I had the vego Breakfast Bagel, with scrambled eggs, avocado and tomato on a whole wheat bagel, which went down a treat.

Nice little coffee shop with tasty chai latte, good coffee and a reasonable selection of baked items. (They also offer some meals but I have never tried them.) Smoothies, too! I find the staff (owners?) kind and friendly, and it's nice that they are family friendly. A few tables to work on, comfy couches, and wifi. A great place overall.

Probably my favorite cafe in this part of town. They make a decent latte, have very good baked goods and small lunch items, and there is free wireless internet. It is a small room, so seating is limited, and it does get busy in the late mornings.
