Considering that I go to school right across from here. My overall experience here has been alright but sometime I feel the staff should really treat student customers a bit better. I am not saying that any of the employees were rude or disrespectful but just the vibe that I have when I come in with fellow classmates I feel like they don't like us coming in. Also, I understand that the area is surrounded by offices but hey students love there coffee too

But they have dope cookies !!!!

I write this review after I've moved away from yvr and my heart aches to return to this bean around the world. The espressos/americanos, lattes, macchiatos...let's just say their beans and coffees are all knockouts.

I used to work in the offices just above the cafe so it was my go to for caffeine fixes.  The baristas (at least the ones a few months back) were all super nice and funky. They definitely make their loyal customers feel at home.

Did you know that there are many Bean Around the Worlds, and all of them are franchise operations? That's why they're so different!

This one is bright and sunny (on a sunny day) with a great amount of windows and good seating options. You can have a private or a not-so-private seat. Good bike parking options as well.

I come here for the lattes now! It's right close by work, and they do the loveliest tasting latte! It has a smooth taste, and leaves a pleasant, lingering aftertaste. Yum x

Meh. I've experienced better. My chai latte was more expensive than Starbucks, which is fine, I'm willing to pay a little more for a better experience, but that being said, this wasn't. My latte was not hot, and not very yummy. Plus I had to pay extra for soy milk, which was not posted anywhere on the board. That always annoys me.

    Meh.

Wow. Has it really been almost three months since my last Yelp? Lord! *spank spank*

I guess a full-time job and trying to save sharks on the side (while also needing to shower, eat and sometimes sleep somewhere in between) has distracted me from my foodie frolicking -- man, I miss frolicking.

That said, this calls for a full-on Food Perverted Yelp review and there is no fare more suited than Bean Around the World's Vegan Banana Chocolate Cookie.

    Yeah. I said it.

    VEGAN
    BANANA
    CHOCOLATE
    COOKIE

Who said an apple a day keeps the doctor away? I say this cookie does. Each time I take a bite into the scrumptious crunchy exterior to discover a delightful chewy inside sprinkled with sweet bursts of chunky chocolate (vegan of course) and pieces of toffee-like banana chips, all my troubles and stress melt away and I feel happy as as a cat on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

And I swear each time I try and avoid looking at the cookie display when I'm grabbing a mug of tea, time begins to slow down and the notes of the hipster-funk-rock music playing in the backdrop morph into a sexy saxophone tune with old-school beats on the bass (like the kind in soft porn -- or so I hear). The lights go out and it's just me and the cookie display on stage. Woman and cookie. My hair tie comes loose and my shiny long black hair blows in the wind [cue fan] and the glass cookie display cover is lifted by an invisible hand or perhaps my desire to devour it - oh, ever so gently.

    And when I do. OH.
    I.
    DO.

I haven't broke the news to Cookies of Course (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...) yet but please don't tell her I've committed these sinful crimes of misdemeanour even though it feels good. REAL GOOD.

This Heritage building has just been renovated. the newly opened Beans ATW offers swank location right on the corner of Hastings & Cambie looking out towards Victory Square, and  across street from Nuba.

The room is nicely finished with wooden floors and open beam ceiling, lots of counter seats looking out on the street and cozy chairs and of course the coffee is excellent.

I walked by this fairly new spot (opened 4 months ago) a few times and finally had some spare time to go inside and check it out.

I loved the awesome space : hardwood floor, Eames loungers (although they were replicas, still so comfy :), Noguchi coffee table and Eames LCW (replicas as well I should think), giant windows....

My cinnamon bun was okay, but not the best. Plus, they served my drink in a to go cup without even asking!! WHAAAAT! This environmental craziness has to stop. What's with those crapy cardboard tasting wasteful to go cups?? Ugh!

Overall, great space, very lit, cool furniture, but... Feels like something is missing... Their is no spirit to this place, it's all very impersonal. AWESOME space though (I know I already said that :), definitely worth to check out.

I've stopped by this location of Bean Around the World a few times now, and aside from the great coffee, had some good treats and panini's (although they are on the smaller side). The service is always great, and the staff is very friendly.
With the large windows, the place is bright even on a dull Vancouver day, and people watching is always fun. (it is across from victory park, so there is always something going on)

I love the location, and the decor, and the people here -I just don't love the coffee. It's consistently sub-bar, which is a bit baffling. I've given this location several chances, but my Americano is always too strong, or too acidic, or too earthy, or too something. They even have the coolest-looking espresso machine in the city! Perhaps they just need to search a few more places on the planet for the perfect roast (or the perfect barista).
