Review from LJ M.
North Vancouver, BC
With a half dozen coffee shops (including three Starbucks) within a five-block radius of the Quay, there's no shortage of places to get a caffeine fix... Bean Around the World is the one that keeps me coming back.
There's some variation in their espresso drinks (as there should be when the baristas actually have to do some work to pour a shot), but most of the staff are good and there are a couple that are excellent. I always know I'm in for an excellent Americano when the older guy (who might be an owner?) recognizes me and starts my drink without needing to be asked.
My husband, however, has terrible luck here getting the mocha of his dreams or a satisfying hot chocolate.
Haven't had much of their food and what I have tried has been pretty good, particularly their morning glory muffins. -

I think they have the Best Dip coffee in the area. The Cafes space is relaxing with its Fireplace in cold months and its Outdoor seats in the warmer months. Today the Dark Drip Coffee I ordered was a little past it prime. Still overall its a nice place to stop for a coffee

This is really a great location for any cafe. Right across from the parking lot, it catches your eye before even entering the Quay. This Bean has all the usual cafe sweets on offer, but they are all wrapped in plastic, which screams "Fresher yesterday!"
Just once they had a Stella dark chocolate bar with chillies, it was really expensive but killer-good but that was temporary.
The outdoor patio is nice but lacks the luster of the water views available in the back of the Quay.
Unfortunately, the coffee also lacks luster. I'm sorry, but after many visits to this Bean, I have to say, ("been there, done that.) -

I just ordered the iced coffee and asked for some foam on top. It was great and refreshing on a hot day. The espresso is strong and makes the drink even yummier. Atmosphere inside the cafe is more comfortable than the patio and yes, the patio view is nothing compared to the back of the Quay. It's all about location isn't it!
Try it and having a coffee is not bad , I have not tried any of the food.
