I am shocked there are no other reviews on this place. A gorgeous, elegant restaurant with seaside views. We love the patio in summer, but location means nothing without great food.
When you walk up you see fresh dough in the window. That is for the "forno" (oven) to grill flatbreads and sandwiches. We like to share fresh flatbreads (flat pizza) and salad. The menu changes according to what is in season, but I enjoy the chefs there. Do not be afraid to ask the server's what dishes they appreciate (has worked well for me so far).
I love the BC wine Laughingstock they serve here, a crisp slightly sweet white wine that also pleased the palates of our dry-wine lovers. They also serve appies, burgers, and entree's. Prices are approximately $9-32/plate.
Tip: Kid and Wheelchair friendly. Take a walk or go for a swim at Ambleside Beach while in the area. Bartender's will make a mean mocktail if you so desire. -

Beachside Forno is a very nice (appearance-wise) restaurant in West Vancouver near Park Royal. We had no trouble finding parking on 14 St. at 6pm on Sunday night.
We came with a group of 11 and I'm not sure exactly why but my review would probably be different (better) if I came only as a 2.
We tried the $18 dine out menu. It's surprising that Beachside is part of the $18 menu since their regular menu entrées are in the $20-30 range. Because of this, I expected the dishes would be much smaller. I'm not sure if this is actually the case, but I would be very disappointed if the size of the dine out entree was the same as the regular menu entree.
I had the salad, mussels & fries and strawberry parfait. The salad was good - 3.5/5. The mussels & fries were small. I had a dine out appetizer about the same size as this entree. I only got about 10 mussels, if even. The parfait was the best part - I would definitely recommend choosing this.
I also got a taste of the appetizer paté and this was awful. I don't think I would ever try a paté again because of this. 2/11 of our diners chose this and both hated it. It was just a strange dish.
I also overheard that the gnocchi entrée was not cooked properly. I think the consensus was the braised lamb was the best out of the 3. The parfait was also the favourite within our group.
As for service, 2/4 diners who ordered the Mussels & Fries agreed that it was way too salty (personally, I thought it was salty but I didn't care enough to send it back). The server promptly offered a new dish, but not before making a comment about how "everyone else seemed to enjoy it." It bugged me a bit only because he didn't actually ask us whether we liked it. Just because we didn't bother to send it back doesn't mean we 'like' it and disagree with the other two. Also, I ordered a drink but it would have been nice to get water on the side. I just assumed water was given, but apparently not. Those who did get water didn't have theirs refilled in a timely matter.
I don't think Beachside did a good job with Dine Out, so I think regular menu may be a better option. I won't be back. -

Very nice ambience, they have cool patio so great when weather permits.
I used to have their pulled pork sandwich, they grill it to perfection, soooo crispy. But it's no longer on the menu. Their new menu is more pricey, but the standard is definitely there. Try their coconut lobster bisque, you will love it. And flat breads are good. -

Went to try out the lastest incarnation restaurant at this location to celebrate a friend's birthday. And I won't be going back after the disappointing meal I had last night! First off, I will say, the service was very good...the hostess showed us to a lovely table out on the patio, complete with heaters and very soft blankets should we get a little cold. Very nice touch...
But, the food left a lot to be desired. The wine selection was decent and we chose a really great California red. We had ordered for our appy, the steamed mussels in white wine and herb sauce. The mussels were very fresh and some were large and plump, but most of the others were less than small!! And the white wine sauce must have some cream in it because it was really thick and with the breeze on the patio, it made the sauce cool and slightly congealed!! Ewww...
Also, I had ordered the mixed green starter salad, which looked like something I made. It was the typical mixed greens you buy in the plastic container with one grape tomato, cut in half. The dressing was flavourless and not even tossed with the greens!! I found most of it on one torn lettuce leaf. My friend had the halibut as her main course and I had the procuitto pizza. She said her meal tasted good, not under or over cooked. My pizza tasted like there was extra salt on it, which was way too much with the procuitto!!!
Dessert was the molten lava cake and it was average. For the cost of everything, I won't be going back there.
