Catch a wave and you're sitting on top of the world.

Only a block away from the beach, it's a great laid back eatery with options for breakfast, lunch dinner or a snack/coffee.  Note:  a line ebbs and flows out the door for coffee and/or food and can take awhile.  Be patient.

The menu's posted outside but also hand written on butcher paper above the register.

My friends and I came on a sunny and warm Sunday and we dined on:  chicken and waffles, fried egg sammie, and mushroom scramble plus various coffees, oj and yes, an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie with cinnamon.  Overall the food came quickly and was delicious.  Coffee drinkers raved about the coffee.

It's a small eatery with a mixture of small tables outside, a small counter and several large farm tables inside.  Tables and seats flipped decently but with good size indoor farm tables, groups seemed alright with sharing. Staff was friendly and helpful and had smiles on their faces and seemed to enjoy being there, a good sign for a restaurant.  A small library of books for sale ae on shelves on the way to the restrooms.

    A couple of suggestions:
Two order takers; the line was really really slow.
Less or no cinnamon in oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.  Save the pungent spice for treats like pumpkin muffins or cinnamon buns.

Thanks, Beachside (and the Beach Boys).  I'm sure I'll be back when it's time to hit the beach again.

Great little spot. The line wasn't long at all when we went, and we just grabbed a spot next to another party who wasn't using their whole table.

We had Beachside Benedict that was really good, but "messy" he said, and "hard to eat". We also had the chicken and waffles. Great because there weren't any bones. I'd get the two piece chicken with waffles instead of the one for a better Chicken to Waffle bite ratio.

They also made me a great Soy Tea Latte, that burned my tongue. Still good.

Service was great! You order your food first then sit, so there's not much they need to do, but they were pretty nice.

    We'll be back.

Charming beachy atmosphere inside and out. Its a treat to have brunch here. Their belgian waffles are super yummy. I also enjoy their egg scrambles which come with delicious little tater tots.

I order dinner from them very often and wish there would be more vegetarian options which is why i knocked a star off. Their portabella burger is really good along with their other veggie dish, the tofu sandwich. Otherwise the veg options are lacking. I also order their fish and chips often when i get bored of the other dishes. Its nice they procure their fish from sustainable sources which is a big plus.

I also like that they serve fun things like snow cones which is a nice treat for a hot day near the beach.

The young people these days do things to nerdy obsessiveness. Normally they apply their pedantry to idiotic things like inappropriately equipped bicycles. But recently, they have discovered coffee, and old people are reaping the benefits.

I went to Beachside Coffee after Java Beach tried to extract $2.15 from me for a refill. As if! I ordered a cappuccino. I found the lengthy preparation time irksome, but as soon as I smelled the coffee, I lost my urge to kill. Five minutes later, I was seated outside in the sun taking my first sip, and it was wondrous. The coffee was so rich and smooth, it was like eating food. It was one of the best coffees I've had.

There is much to dislike about young people - their headphonedness, the way they define themselves by corporate products - but I cannot deny that they are doing something special at Beachside Coffee. In fact, I told the barista so. I know I shouldn't encourage them, but I did!

It's great that several new places have opened up in the Sunset area because there really wasn't many decent options for food when growing up around here. On a Saturday morning though, the crowd can get large and there are only 5-6 indoor tables here. I know a lot of restaurants are small, but there are some things that bug me about this setup. See, I don't mind going up to a counter and ordering my food, I wouldn't even mind having to pick up my food from the counter and busing my tray afterwards, but I definitely don't like having to wait around scouting for a vacant table (which other standing customers are doing too), while hungrily hovering over seated patrons that may or may not be leaving their table soon. There needs to be some organization here.

The food here was okay, hit or miss really. I liked my fried egg and sausage sandwich, which was a little greasy, but was good enough to justify the $5 price tag. However, the mushroom scramble looked and tasted simple. The portion for this was so small, it could have been made from just 1 egg. Plus, it was over $8. My dad ordered the fatboy sandwich and said it was just okay, but nothing special.

I would come back again if I was in the mood for their fried egg sandwich again AND was only planning to take my food to go, but I'm not eager to explore anything else on their menu. A warning note: Don't be surprised if you find lounging patrons (who are clearly done with their meals) unaffected by the large hungry crowds at the door. There's nothing you can do about that, except give them the evil stares and wish something shitty happened in their day.

Admittedly I came here on bay to breakers, so the line was gynormous.  But I asked for a dry cappuccino and got a cappuccino with barely any foam!!  Then I went to the nearby Java beach cafe and it is way better!!

This place is a real gem in an area with a lot options.  Don't be put off by the lack of a flashy exterior or view of the ocean.  This is the best breakfast place in the area.  The food is all organic and local, and it is prepared perfectly.  The dishes are inspired and demonstrate the chef's passion for food.  The staff is professional and provide excellent service in a laid back, comfortable environment.  The outdoor seating is simple, but enjoyable.  I've been here several times and it has always been good.

This café is very, very good. Nice to see the Outer Sunset gain another quality eatery.

Their coffee selection is rich and hearty, as are the food menu items. You will never go wrong with the warm specials.

We tucked-in to a warm meal on a cold, rainy San Francisco night and left more than satisfied.

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

Beachside is a scrumptious gourmet comfort addition to the Outer Sunset.

Aptly named two short blocks from Ocean Beach, Beachside offers a mouth-watering menu of tasty delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My friend and I enjoyed their fried chicken + Belgian waffle and their Irish breakfast sandwich (Irish bacon and sausage, grilled tomato, fried egg on a soft roll and a side salad. It comes with black and white pudding which I skipped).

They also offer a delicious array of coffee, pastries, plus cotton candy and snow cones. I enjoyed a slice of their fruit pie to go, which had an ample crust that I absolutely loved. Go to Beachside if you're looking for a delicious treat.

PS: This place can get pretty busy, so I recommend bringing a few layers with you in case you need to wait. Or you can take your meal to go and and enjoy it on the shore.

Woke up Sunday morning to a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and my girlfriend had just texted me to come have breakfast at this cute spot she likes to go to whenever she's in town from NYC. Everything was set in place for an amazing day to ensue... that is, until I went to Beachside.

When I got there, I didn't have to stand in line, because I had ordered ahead with my girlfriend and her fiancee, since I was running a bit late. It was my first time at beachside, and I hadn't quite noticed yet that it was a "serve yourself" joint. The waitress walked by, and I asked her if I could order an orange juice. After giving me the stare of death, she says, "I can't put that in. You order at the register." Really? I mean, I'm not offended by what she said, but more HOW she said it. And... I hope that nasty look she gave me isn't part of the uniform. That would be very unfortunate.

Our food came out. Honestly, it came out in a reasonable amount of time, so I can't complain about that. But, alas... there was no bacon on my BACON, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Dammit. I have to ask that waitress a question again. I wonder if my body could take another ray from her death stare machine? I'm already a little weakened by the first encounter... okay. It's bacon, so I will take that chance... I politely called her to our table as she passed by, and told her that my sandwich was missing my most beloved crispy pork element, and ZAP!!! The death stare machine hits me again. She doesn't say a word to me, but picks up the plate, and whisks it away, looking even more unhappy than ever. I start to wonder, "Is she going to spit in my food? Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut and just ate it."

Oh well. Needless to say, I did not have a very good experience with the service. The food, on the other hand, is okay. The decor and space are okay, as well. None of the above are NEARLY good enough to make me come back here and withstand that type of service ever again, though. I hate to give bad reviews, and would have loved to have love this place, but you get what you give. Sorry Beachside!

I know the gal employee that y'all have been victims of. Her sour attitude seems to permeate the air there. Bitch needs a 'time out' or a good slap or something, cos its just unacceptable.
I've been there a couple times when the little register man had no clue, and couldnt tell me the wines, portion sizes, or whether or not ingredients could be substituted. Poor fella.
Had to learn for myself how bad the wine is, how tiny the portions are (for the price) and how mediocre the food is.
The coffee's not bad, and merits the one star I can give this place.

    Overall- "Bleh."

Great, modern coffee bar and restaurant.

There's not a lot goin on in the Outer Sunset, so more places like this are welcome. During the weekday, Beachside isn't packed and seats are plenty. There is a large bench that forms an L around the long wall of the restaurant and tables placed along it. It seems the reason there are enough seats for eating is because they don't offer free wifi like Java Beach nearby and thus dont have poachers sitting at their tables without end. I like it this way, keep them to their side of the street and leave Beachside alone.

Salted Caramel Latte - lightly salted and caramelized, almost to the point you dont realize its there but past the point you think there's nothing. it was worth ordering once, but I might stick to normal espresso drinks on a future visit

Mushroom Burger - simple, greasy and cheesy - just what I was looking for in my burger. In our trend to make burgers constantly more gourmet, others have lost the art of making a normal burger.

I wasn't too impressed by the food here. The waffle was okay, a little stingy with the syrup. The fried chicken was sort of breaded how you'd bread ... I don't know. Hard to even describe. With breadcrumbs, which isn't how fried chicken should be prepared. Serious lack of salt, pepper or any seasoning. I'll probably give it another go in a few months, maybe try the burger. There are too many good reviews here to believe that this place is consistently mediocre.

Update: The owner, Buffy, contacted me asking specifically what went wrong so they could address it. This is the first time I've had this happen on Yelp, so I added a third star. I'll update again next time we visit.

So often I have seen people in San Francisco stand in line for food not worth beans (no pun intended, and no offense to beans). Granted this tends to happen in North Beach, but it's known to happen throughout the 7x7. The first thing you'll notice at Beachside is the line, and let that not deter you. You want to stand in this line because you want the absolute culinary wizardry that is happening at the end of it.

Let's talk food. I was with Brunch Club (our aptly named group of brunchers) so we sampled quite a bit of tummy-pleasing selections: cheesy grits, eggs florentine, friend egg sandwich, Belgian waffle, chicken and waffles, and a few sides of hash browns. All were stellar, most notably the hashbrowns which were shaped like oversized tater-tots, the grits (which had a thick consistency while not being overly gritty), and the waffles, which were just waffly-goodness.

We also had dessert. A lot of it we had before we got our larger meal items because we are classy. Apple pie (good), berry pie (named one of the best things on our packed table), a chocolate chip cookie, a dark and white chocolate chip cookie (which was a bit like a smores in cookie form somehow) and my personal favorite, a moon pie.

Yes, a moon pie. It was ungodly delicious, and when paired with the grits, an absolute must. The moon pie had thick frosting piled into the middle of two very soft, almost brownie-style cookie pieces. I have no idea how much it cost, but I would have paid about six dollars for it without blinking an eye once I knew just how much I'd enjoy it.

When we left, we picked up "sassy apple" flavored cotton candy for the ride home. Because you know, we hadn't massaged our taste-buds enough. Christ, even that was amazing.

    A note on ambiance
Hand-written signs, low-key but well-kept decor and wood everywhere that makes one think of a summer's day even in the Sunset's gloom means this place invites you to pop in for a treat.

But seating is communal and also very limited. It's likely you'll order and then have to wait to snag a chair. Be bold. And remember sharing is caring. I like this style of seating arrangements, and it doesn't bother me to have to wait - it's not everyone's cup of tea though, so simply be aware. In my humble opinion, it made the entire place feel even more like a summer stop-in.

Been here several times already and I always come out with a big smile and big belly:)
Love their bacon waffle, chicken and waffle and meatlovers scramble. The place is small so you might have to wait long or a table because its always  busy. Everything in their menu is organic, local and made from scratch which I really love. I would definintely have to come back and try their fish and chips, steak and eggs , bacon and egg burger and their Irish breakfast. Plus the head chef is cute;)

Visited yesterday with my wife to get a chicken sandwich and salad to go. The food was great but the service was absolutely terrible. We waited about half and hour for our food at a restaurant that maybe seats 30 people and it wasn't full. The kitchen seemed to be disorganized with couples who came in after us getting their food before us and two women who were seated outside when we arrived
still waiting for their food after we received ours. I love the place but will not go back  during the lunch hour.

    ((( Brunch Review Only )))

    Quick Things:
    - Order at the counter & then wait for your food to be run to you
    - Brunch items run upto $10/person & luckily they accept Visa/MC
    - Seating is communal style
    - Salt/pepper/hot sauce is usually on the counter where the water cups/milk/sugar/napkins are - but if not, you're gonna have to ask someone to pass it over to you a seat or two or three over from you
    - Do not expect actual waiter/waitress service

    Tab:
    - 2 OJs (not freshly squeezed)
    - 1 Florentine
    - 1 Mushroom/Gruyere scramble
    - 1 bread pudding slice
    - 1 cookie
    - 1 side of hash browns
    $30.50 -or- $35.50 w/tip
(I threw in $5 for tip without realising that we wouldn't get any table service)

    My Issues:
    - Last time I checked -- poached eggs should be runny, our Florentine alas was not & came out tasty, albeit overcooked
    - SALT! SALT! SALT! -- add it, Beachside, puhlease!
    - Mushroom Gruyere: could've made this at home with a lot more shrooms & I don't think I tasted *any* of the cheese
    - Cookie was good, OJ was standard Odwalla, bread pudding warmed up was good
    - The 'servers' looked very frazzled/overwhelmed/busy which made you uncomfortable asking for well, anything.
    - They ran out of silverware! *%#@!!!! you're a restaurant! - stock up dude!
    - It's not *actually* beachside. False advertising yo.

    Overall I liked:
    - The ambiance & concept -- the fact that everything is made fresh & locally sourced/organic
    - The $5 book shelf

    Next time:
    - If you're doing brunch/sandwich type food -- spend the time & get in line at Outerlands up the street & you'll thank yourself
    - If and when I come back - it'll maybe maybe maybe be for the barbacoa eggs (smelt divine), a sandwich or even dinner, but definitely not brunch

    Signed,
    Sadly underwhelmed

I was a little doubtful that this place would be good, being so close to the beach and all. But it turned out to be just the place. Be warned that there is syrup everywhere so make sure not to sit on or step on or put your stuff down on some syrup! Good indoor and outdoor seating. Got the chicken and waffle and both were highly excellent. Lots of selection.

My suggestions: 1) swoop a table   2) order drinks.... your food might take awhile!!

I went to beachside cafe specifically for their chicken and waffles. So good!  the fried chicken was very crispy on the outside and extremely moist on the inside. The waffle was also really good.

I have to say,  If I didn't have bottomless mimosa's I would not have been happy to wait nearly an hour for my order. The food is really good though, and on a sunny day sitting outside & soaking up the sun feels awesome. I'll definitely be back when i have some time : )

The atmosphere is cool, the staff is special, but the real secret ingredient is...

    MUSTARD!

And it's disgusting. I ordered pulled pork sliders - no longer an item. Okay, I'll have the pulled pork sandwich - no longer an item. (We have a pulled pork sandwich). Okay.

I get there to pick it up, bring it home and it's drenched in a very heavy mustard vinaigrette. The fried pickles were tasty, but the sopping mustard-y pork... no thanks.

Well, their yukon potatoes are really good, so I thought I'd give them a second chance.

My sweetheart got chicken and waffles, which tasted like heaven ought to. I wasn't too hungry and ordered asparagus soup. To my delight, it was a horrendous shade of mustard yellow and tasted like...MUSTARD.

What the heck?? Is mustard hip in the culinary scene lately? Honestly, there's one food (er., condiment) I don't like, and mustard is it. It may just be bad luck, but honestly, I've never heard of mustard-asparagus soup. Pulled pork, I could understand, but it left the sandwich soggy, which sucked.

I'll be back, but I'll be sure to screen their menu items for the secret ingredient...

This is another reason why my 'hood kicks ass!  The coffee they offer here is as good as any I've had anywhere, from Ritual to Blue Bottle to Intelligensia.  They usually have four or five single origin type brews and all of the ones I've tried have been amazing.  Yes, you wait but that's why they call it slow pour.

I love sitting outside on a sunny afternoon (even in the Sunset, sometimes that happens) and the inside is cozy and inviting too.

The only thing to I wish is that they had a larger menu with more vegetarian options.  Given that they haven't been open for too long, however, I'm hopeful that will be comimg/

Food wise the best thing on the menu is the Irish breakfast sandwich. The burger patties are way too small, so small the bun is much bigger. Not worth it for the price. As nice as the tables look they are wobbly. One waitress in particular who is consistently a Debbie Downer spilt coffee on the able as she brought it over. She didn't clean it up or refill it. Next I spill it because the table is so wobbly. I walk over to her and ask her for a rag to clean it up. She gave me a look of disgust. My friend sits down after coming back from the wash room and as he sits I pick up my coffee and again it spills. I ask her again for another rag to which she rolls her eyes at me. It's not like she is cleaning anything up to be so irritated! As we eat what looks like a slider instead of a good sized burger, a swarm of flies are hovering over our food as if we were at an outdoor barbeque. My friend walks over to the waitress for a refill of coca cola. She looked irritated, gave him a forced smile and gave him a root beer instead of a coca cola. She really shouldn't be at the front of the house with a bad attitude and sour look on her face. We all have our bad days but it appears that she had one everyday. Not a good look for a place that has so much more potential.

...again I go for the cheeseburger. I don't "do" fastfood any more so having a restaurant close to home that makes an outstanding burger(not like fast food)  just warms my soles (bottom of my  feet, ha ha ). May and I walked for dinner and then had to have the delicious bread puddin' for  dessert. soft bread with blueberries inside and on the top in a lite sweet blueberrysauce.Ask to have heated up.
uuI must say, this is my new fav cafe, everything is good. the kinks of being a new restaurant seem to be worked out and the grouchy chef is gone. Plus consistency in food is there as well.always good. When yo want comfort food or the food of "when we were young" go to this cafe. worth every dime and worth the wait.

This is our new go to meeting spot because of the quality of their coffee. Their coffee just blows away Java Beach..no comparison!

The only reason why I am giving this place a three star is because my boyfriend loves  the Cappuccino. He loves Nespreso and said " This Cappuccino is amazing" so this must mean a lot.

We both came in for brunch today and I ordered the eggs Benedict. I was really disappointed, because they were really really runny. I would have waited longer to have them cooked. I had a river in my plate =(.

Other than that the location is nice, they sell books inside for 5 dollars.

I didn't want to like this place. It's former tenant was C&M Bar, and although it was probably some back-room gambling/prostitution ring that most were wise to never step foot in, I saw new ownership of the space as an opportunity for an actually decent dive bar for this end of our neighborhood (and no, Pittsburgh does not fit that bill, though I'm a fan of both Flanny's and RipTide).

I was pretty pissed when I saw that Java Beach acquired the space, and it never really made sense to me because it seemed they'd only be taking customers away from Java Beach less than a block away, but when they opened, I figured out why. Java Beach is a coffee shop, first and foremost, where if your desperate, you can get a decent bite, but the food at Beachside is fantastic.

Top picks at Beachside go to the Chicken and Waffles, the Fried Chicken Sandwich and Portobello Mushroom Burger (though their menu changes a lot, another thing I like about it). Sometimes, I'll split a large Irish Breakfast Sandwich, just to save the heart attack for another day. I haven't been here for dinner yet, though I look forward to it. I like the way they run things, paying up front, grab your own stuff, clear your own table, first come first serve seating. Keeping it simple, keeping it real.

Admittedly, I'm still bitter about the lack of a decent bar near me, but I'll let it slide for now Beachside.

This was a nice find, that we stumbled upon because we got to Outerlands too late for lunch. The list of brunch/lunch options in this city is somewhat slim, so the fact that Beachside offers breakfast until 4 or 5 (I forget exactly when) is really exciting. I got an egg sandwich with an egg, which came with a side salad. I was mildly disappointed with the hamburger bun on which it was served, but it still was tasty. I wish I had more time to try their pie, it looked amazing!
Also I do appreciate that there was a full menu of coffee bean options, served drip.

I finally checked this place out when my favorite brunch spot, Outerlands, was too busy. The menu is small and diverse with great options for vegetarians. Our table at veggie breakfast burritos and tofu bahn mi.

The cafe has great pour over coffee options and a few beers too. Very calm and comfortable atmosphere and the staff were friendly. This will definitely be my go to place when my fave brunch spot cannot accommodate me. I am glad that I don't have to worry about going all the way to the outer sunset and leaving hungry.

The vibe reminds me of Java Beach (surfer inspired, relaxed, counter seating) but Beachside, which has the same owner, differs in several important respects: no free wi-fi, a full kitchen that cranks out comfort food inspired sandwiches and salads (meatball, pulled pork, tofu banh mi, fried chicken, burgers), and fancier coffee. The music is better too.

    * Latte ($3.50): For some reason, they don't have low fat or nonfat milk for espresso drinks. You can choose full fat or soy. There's only one size. Very annoying. The latte took 10 minutes or longer even though they weren't busy. The cooked to order fried egg sandwich was ready before the latte. Unacceptable. By the time it arrived, it wasn't hot enough. Soy changes the flavor of the latte, so it was difficult to assess. It wasn't as strong as I wanted but had good, smooth flavor.

    * Fried egg sandwich ($5.50) with cheddar and your choice of sausage or bacon: thick sausage patty was overcooked and dry but had a little heat/spiciness that I liked, the egg was very runny, so don't pick it up and bite into it. The big brioche bun was soft and sweet. It would have been better with a bun that wasn't so sweet.

After stopping in for a light dinner, had to go back the very next morning to try out the brunch.

For dinner: Gave the little one popcornchicken w/ fries, my lovely wife enjoyed the meatball pasta, and I had double cheesburger* w side salad.

For brunch: We shared waffles, mushroom/gruyere scramble

Want to try breakfast burrito, irish breakfast sandwhich, chicken/brusselspouts diner, and some of the pie.

*best burger I had in a long while...better than barney was in Noe, the whole foods deli in Potrero Hill, flippers in hayes valley, the kobe burger at cheescake factory in macy's/union square, etc.

I don't like hippie places where the staff is absolutely oblivious to any and all customer needs. Like seeing a line of people, but not bothering to clean a table of dirty dishes for over 10 minutes. Yes, I do enjoy just standing in the middle of the place watching people eat and getting bumped by other customers, how'd y'all know?I support local businesses as much as possible, but I am seriously getting fed up with this place.
I kept coming back because their food, is pretty delicious. More specifically, the meatball salad. That's honestly the only thing that is worth returning for. BUT... why is it inconsistent. What do you mean by... with the large salad, you get 3 or 4 meatballs- depending on the chef? Why not just be consistent? Because the chef's hemp underwear is particularly itchy that day.. I get less food? Not cool.

Get over yourselves guys! And, I don't like their coffee! But that's because they don't train their staff to make it correctly.

Location: Convenient to the N-Judah line.  And a walk on the beach after.

Food: Brunch was good, very tasty.  We had the waffle and the eggs benedict.  A bit pricey for the portion sizes, though.

Drink: They sell bottomless mimosas, which are very tasty with good quality juice, but here's the catch: there's no table service, so you have to go looking for someone to give you a mimosa every time you want a refill.  Bit counter to the whole point of coming to brunch with someone to chill out, and throw back a few relaxing drinks.  And mildly annoying if you've tipped almost as much as you would a server at your table, thinking "so what if there's no table service... it's a cafe, employees are still working hard... at least they need to be tipped for keeping the mimosas flowing".  Well, you'll be doing your own serving once they bring the initial food order out, so just be prepared for that.  And when the staff does bring out the 3rd refill, you may get some unneeded judgment and attitude...be prepared for that, too :-)

Decent coffee freshly made! Unlike getting a cup and then pouring your own from a container where coffee may or may not have sat for how ever long.  Nice alternative to the Java beach - which will have to step up their game due to close local competition. Their pastries are tasty, and they have a decent book shelf with many pop nonfiction titles - which is cool. The service is ok as well at least on the my 2 visits. Menu seems interesting and im yet to try some of their specials - if they can beat the Java Beach sandwiches - this place will get an extra star.

Another cool thing is - free softserve ice cream with yelp check in!!!

Fried Chicken sando with apple coleslaw is the best thing on the menu!

The meatball sando and the irish breakfast sando are also really good

The meatball sub is what I come back for here. It's pretty good & meaty but it definitely needs more sauce&more cheese. The cheese should be but on both sides of bun& some melted on top to fully tastify this properly.

The chicken & waffles: the waffles are ok just basic but ok. The fried chicken looks like it should be good but lacks a lot of flavor in the skin The skin needs way more seaoning, it has a very bland aftertaste. I feel like this can easily be solved with incorporating some flavor & seasoning into the breading. Don't order this- the chicken is horrible.

The English breakfast: big portion, this is good, tasty but a little too expensive

I would go back for the meatball sub if they would add extra sauce&cheese on it.
I'd like to try more items on their menu if they are available when I'm there, almost everytime i've been there items have not been available from the menu when I've tried to order them.

Your best bet is the meatball sub

Definitely a happenin' spot on a Sunday morning. Nice scones (bacon-maple anyone?) and other baked goods. Yummy belgian waffles. I would have like to see more combo specials with the waffles rather than having to order eggs and bacon a la carte. Yummy cheddar grits and interesting coffee drinks (salted caramel latte). Nice wooden tables and decor. Kinda rustic, beachy look. Nice casual spot across the street from Ocean Beach.

Love Beachside! Aside from the great food their location is awesome. Beachside is my go to for a  cup of coffee or espresso on my way down to OB for a surf or swim.

Their coffee (the same as Java Beach) is really the best I have every had in the Sunset, so happy to have them in the neighborhood.

Banh mi beach is delicious; requesting it vegan (no sauce) tastes great too.  Chicken sandwich gets good reviews but because it's breast meat it's really dry.  Beer selection is limited but you can't go wrong with a $2 Rolling Rock.  This place get's 4 stars because the neighborhood needs it and overall the menu is good and prices aren't too terrible.
