The BC Cancer Center building is quite new, but the system has been in place for years. One of the top research facilities in Canada and the world, it has come a long way even in the past ten years in research. I've had and currently have family that have suffered from Cancer and the donations in fact do help make a difference.
Like the Blood clinic, this place is an important part of our medical system and support.
Just remember, that as a Yelper or a reader of the reviews on Yelp.
Eat and drink responsibly, exercise and try to maintain a lifestyle as stress free as possible.
Enjoy life everyday.

If you have a diagnosis of cancer, this is where you want to be. No one wants cancer, but if that nasty cell growth attacks your body, you want the best treatment with the best doctors. Not only are the docs superb, but therapeutic touch appointments are free (book one before your treatment) the patient & family counselling section is realistic and totally helpful. The library, located across the street, is open to patients. All the science journals are there for the reading. There is a good chance you can be enrolled in a clinical trial here - or a study - and this all helps you and other patients. The cafeteria is not all that great, but there are some little mom & pop cafes on Broadway (Cafe Europa) where you can get a good coffee or tea and read a newspaper in between appointments.
