Review from James C.
Walked around to see who had the most affordable rentals along with the bike condition. One place I saw had a really cheap rental price, but the bikes looked pretty dilapidated and not well maintained. I jumped on yelp and found Bayshore Bicycles and decided to trust my fellow Yelpers. I am so glad I did this! Went in, no hard sell and the employee was even easy to talk to. They also have student discount and for a 2 hour rental, it came out to just under $10. This included the helmet by the way. Make sure you have a credit card for the security deposit for the bike. Jumped on the bike and headed out to Stanley Park and rode the circumference, about 45-50 mins. After that, I just casually rode around in the city.

I'm sorry but this place is a little overrated here on Yelp. If you are looking to save a few bucks per rental at the price of renting a bike with suspect maintenance then this is your place. As a visitor the last thing I want to worry about is improper fit or a flat tire or a chain falling off (my wife's chain came off and had grease all over her hands). They are extremely busy so maybe that's what explains the spotty service too. There are plenty of better options around even if they cost your $2 more per bike.

Visitor came to Vancouver and we thought if we rented a tandem bike it would be a great way to see a lot of Stanley Park in a short-ish amount of time. Went to Yelp... Bayshore Bicycles gets great reviews so why not try it out?
Went in. Young guy was nice and friendly. We were quickly on our way. Did just over half the Seawall around the park when POP! our rear tire blew. That blows, right? lol We started to push it back when the rear brake seized. Double-plus bad. So then he pushed/steered the front-end while I lifted the back... all the way back to Bayshore Bicycles. This could have been a bad experience, right?
When we returned, they could not have been nicer! They gave us back our coupon to apologize for our bad experience, so we could use it again another time. And I will definitely be back. Even without a coupon, their rates seem very good. And the service is topnotch. -

Did my homework and found Bayshore much cheaper for Mountain Bike rentals. Was going to do some serious trail riding in Stanley Park so I needed a hard tail. At $30/day this beat out Spokes by far ($43/day), which also allowed me to rent it longer than just a day or two. In fact, if you do a multi-day rental the price just keeps dropping...so two days at Spoke for this kind of bike is the same price as 5 days at Bayshore. Glad I looked into it!
The bike came with a lock and a dorky helmet...as they all do...it's the law apparently. Would have been great if any of the bikes had splash guards, but it was explained to me that the little silver rack on the back wheel (of almost all the bikes) would stop 60% of splash factor anyway.
Half-way through the week I switched to a commuter bike, just to give it a go on the Seawall. They were great about the switch and didn't even mention the super dirty mountain bike I was leaving behind. I did have one minor malfunction on the high-riding commuter bike when the chain got seriously stuck in place during shifting. Set me back about 10mins...and sets Bayshore back a star. Otherwise highly recommended. -

First time to rent bikes, after checking the reviews, we decided to go bayshore. Location is good, free parking and easy quick access to Stanley park. There is a minimal 2 hours rental. At first i thought it was too long. But then found out that it will take me about 1.5 hours finish the trails in Stanley park.
Overall, it was a good experience. -

There are a number of bike rental places lined up along Denman Street with convenient access to Stanley Park. When we arrived early on a Sunday morning, we had originally planned on renting from Bikes 'N Blades as previous Yelpers had recommended, but alas, it was not open on Sundays. As we looked for another place to rent bikes, Spokes just looked too showy with their fancy bikes all lined up outside. That's when we noticed Bayshore Bicycles across the street...
We popped our heads in and we were immediately greeted by what I presumed was the owner of the store. He gave us a full explanation of the pricing policy complete with a total-price by the hour chart (including tax). It was much cheaper than other places I had read about. A mountain bike rental (including helmet) was $12.60 for two hours And the best part was that we didn't need to specify how long we wanted the bikes upfront -- which was nice since we didn't quite know how long it would take to explore Stanley Park. We were quickly set up with bikes and given a map of the park so we wouldn't get lost.
Returning the bikes was super easy. The owner and the other employees were super friendly and just as nice as can be. This place can't be beat with the price of the rentals and with how accommodating the staff is! -

Their price is right for sure, cheapest I could find. The staff is friendly and service quick. The bikes we got weren't the best maintained but nothing fell off so that's good. It was later in the season and later in the day so we could have gotten some of their older bikes and we didn't have a choice on the type of bike.
Overall, not a bad place to go. -

Best place to rent bikes in the West End/Stanley Park. Reasonable prices and friendly services. The bikes are well maintained and the staff are great about setting you up properly before hitting the trails.

Super-helpful employees had us set up and out the door within minutes of arrival. Good selection of bikes, and the price was very reasonable -- two bikes, helmets and locks for 4 hours for $38. Definitely use the free parking behind the building as some nearby streets are permit parking only.

This place was recommended to us by the Westin (they have 5% discount coupons). The hotel said they upgrade their bikes every year. The service was excellent. We walked in the same time as a few other people and they had us in, outfitted with a bike and on the trail in no time! The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The location was great and prices competitive. We went to this place twice and our experience was consistently excellent.
