Review from Michelle A.
Toronto, ON
I don't have a dog, but I love loitering around this store. Since it's right next to High Park, there are always lots of cute dogs hanging out, just doggin' around. Since it's in a nice neighbourhood, the dogs are usually well-behaved and are trained to be sweet to strangers.
I've been here a couple of times to buy new puppy gifts. The staff is always very friendly and very helpful. They know what kinds of dogs like which treats and what toys kind of suck or can be ripped to shreds in minutes (I appreciate the honesty). At Christmas, they had lots of those antlers that dogs chew on - they're some kind of fad. They also have the usual boxes of puppy and big dog treats, bones, peanut butter treats, all the meat flavours, red kongs, frisbees, tennis balls and launchers, squeaky toys, biodegradable scented poop bags and fancy little cases for leashes, etc. My favourite part is the counter full of fresh-baked dog treats. They're kind of pricey ($1-$3 each), but I just picked out a couple (peanut butter squirrels were a hit) and they filled the rest of the box with little cheap biscuits. I also like their selection of greeting cards. I love a good dog card, and they have a whole rack of fancy puppy cards for any occasion!
Cat owners - you can shop here too. Other small pet owners (rabbit, bird, hamster, rodent, etc) will be directed to the pet store across the street. -

Even though the movie biz has "proven" that 'All Dogs Go to Heaven', that doesn't mean your pooch doesn't deserve heaven-ly-ness whist still on earth.
Enter Bark and Fitz, one (of a few) high end doggie boutiques in Toronto.
They have everything a dog (or more aptly in some cases, an owner) could want:
- Doggie clothes (rain jackets, sweaters, Santa coats)
- Gourmet dog food (something to distract your dog from begging during Christmas dinner, that's what I'm thinking for my own dog)
- Beautiful (and not bad tasting....that's right, I've tried them) dog biscuits in all sorts of themes.
- Toys, beds, brushes, bowls, all sorts of cr--uh....stuff that your dog must have.
