    Gorgeous, beautiful, and stunning.

Oh, you thought I was describing the store?  Yes, that works too, but really, that's what people will be saying about you when you wear your purchases from Barefoot.

I've been shopping here for 6 years.  It's a rare day when there isn't something I want to buy from Barefoot.  The clothes here I haven't found anywhere else.  It's all very feminine and girly, but sometimes that is a good thing.  They have a small but interesting selection of shoes, too.

The staff are just the sweetest, and are happy to offer advice and tips on fit.  Which is great for me, as I tend to shop alone a lot.  I think the best features I realized this weekend were the mirrors and lighting.  You must think I am insane, but the mirrors and lighting didn't make me look bloated and crappy, like most stores do.  I actually looked good, which made me feel good, and then I bought a dress.  It was on sale, and had a print with cherries, how could I say no?

The pricing isn't cheap, but for quality, unique and beautiful clothes, the prices are reasonable.  Especially if you find something on sale, as I did.

Flirty, feminine, funky, this place is delightful gem on Main Street. The decor is shabby chic with pink all about so you can't help put feel girly. I am always guaranteed to find something I love there because they sell beautiful, unusual clothing, jewellery, and odds and ends.

They always have a great selection of dresses for occasions ranging from casual to semi-formal. If you are looking to spoil yourself a little (the dresses range in price, about $90 and up) and feel like a princess, then Barefoot Contessa is the perfect place to find a dress. And chances are, no one else will have it either, because this ain't no Forever 21.

The jewellery selection is quite extensive and they sell a lot work by Vancouver designers, so it's nice to support your own city. Because there the jewellery selection is so great, I find it a perfect spot to go gift shopping.  I can usually find a piece in my price range that I think will suit the taste I'm shopping for (and I usually find something covetable for myself, too).

There are always cute accessories too- the hats and hairbands are always decidedly chic and girly.

There's even stuff for the wee ones! They sell the most darling (see: heart meltingly cute) baby/toddler clothing as well as really neat and nostalgic vintage games. (I bought an old school fishing game for my cousins and they absolutely loved it)

And to top it all off, the staff is always helpful and friendly. They are not pushy or impatient, which is great for an indecisive fashionista like me.

Hmmm, me thinks a shopping trip is now in oder....

occassion: find a dress for a friend's wedding

first impression: i stepped into pretty women land. the store was pink and girly and all around wonderful. the staff was nice and friendly, while at the same time giving me enough space to browse. the ladies who helped me gave good pairing suggestions and didn't rush me. i read the notice in the change room that all purchases are final, so make sure you know for sure you will love what you buy - this is not very hard in this shop! i ended up buying a cute (pink!) dress and a belt to go with and a little bow, and the total came to $118 after tax - really not bad for 3 items! i will definitely come back for more.

I'm not much of a girly-girl, actually if I didn't have the body parts, I wouldn't even know that I was one. I don't own a single pair of heels or a even one tube of lipstick.

But something about this shop just makes that hidden princess inside me sing. Maybe its all the pretty soft lighting or the random knick-knacks all over the place.

I step inside and I want to try everything on. Keep in mind, I can easily wear the same jeans and tshirt for 5 days straight and not care.

The shop is just magical, that's the only way to describe it. The best thing is that they have deals every Tuesday, like half off party dresses or two for one specials.

Barefoot Contessa has a pretty good selection of party dresses, tops and accessories.  The prices are pretty reasonable.  I manage to find a really nice well made dress that could easily be found on the racks of a BCBG  store but minus the fefty price tag.  Their stuff are unique, feminine and girly.  They also sell scented candles, soaps and other girly stuff.  So it's a great place to get a little something for oneself or birthday gifts.

I went to the store today after passing few times and looking at the store from outside! The display is so beautiful! I'm a girly-girl. I adore anything that has ruffles, lace or floral prints! This store carries all kind of dresses that any girl would love to have! Very unique and different than most places around Vancouver.

I'm not easy to satisfy, yet I managed to find 5 dresses in half an hour! The dresses are very well made and beautiful! Their jewelry section is worth checking out as well! They had a nice collection of feminine cardigans and blouses. I didn't buy any of them since I'm trying to "save" and they are a bit pricy. To be honest, you can find some of them cheaper online.   Three out of the 5 dresses I liked were available online for $20-$40 cheaper. However, you still need to pay for shipping/import tax if you are getting them online.

I honestly loved the store and so does my friend! I'm definitely going when they have sales and the prices are more student-friendly!

This is definitely the shop to go to if you want to be kitted out like a girly-girl. Racks of floaty dresses, ruffles and lace, satin and sashes. Even their maxi dresses, a fashion abomination generally, are cute. And I loved the kids corner, especially the vintage picture books - A to Z of Puppy Dogs! Even though I didn't find what I was in the market for, I enjoyed the look.

This is one of the first places I check for something fun, girly, and unique to wear to a party. A previous poster remarked that the dresses are not great quality for the price and she has a point. I am occasionally frustrated when the only dress of a particular design that they have in my size has a small hole or a missing button. Nonetheless, their dresses are so cute and perfect for new years, weddings, and banquets. PS. take a peak into the jewelry cases. Their selection of necklaces, headbands etc. is somewhat limited but the pieces are delightful!

If you are looking for an escape from the usual on Main Street, pop into Barefoot Contessa for something different. The Barefoot Contessa is aptly named. Entering this store definitely feels like stepping into a modern day princess's dressing room at her summer villa. Lots of pretty frocks are on display along with unique jewelery, feminine home decor, and sweet gift items.

Sugar and spice and everything nice. Barefoot Contessa, with its sweetly pink storefront, is as pretty as it's going to get. The boutique itself is akin to walking into a giant, life-size fondant cake. The last comment is meant in the most complimentary way possible. Inside are the kinds of confections any repressed princess craves to wear. Lace, tulle, drapery, flounce... Despite all the apparent froth, substance and quality are always close behind. Barefoot Contessa is the perfect place to go when you need a fun little dress that will last you a lifetime.

Such a sweet store! I recently revisited this Main Street boutique and was pleasantly surprised to find it had expanded into the space next door, as well. Double the pleasure, and double the selection of footwear for Fido!

Of all the pretty places you could shop, this is one of the prettiest I've seen anywhere.  This store, which has a location on Main Street and one at 1928 Commercial Drive, sells lovely women's clothes, much of which is designed and made locally or in Canada, along with charming accessories, stationery, some baby clothes and accessories, and an eclectic mix of home decor and gift items.  No matter what you are in the mood for, if it's precious and girly The Barefoot Contessa will have it.  The clothes aren't cheap, but neither should they be as they are all made with such care and attention to every lacy detail.  It's not all frilly, though, much of what they carry is actually a bit edgy, too: think pretty girl cruising around on her motorcycle.  This store is a must-visit for anyone who loves things that are delightfully pretty, original and very creative.
